ADD-ON PROFILE INFORMATION ......................................................................................................................... 75

This document provides the Release Notes for the RSLogix 5000 Add-On Instructions and FactoryTalk

View Objects that make up the PlantPAx Library of Process Objects. This version of the Release Notes

document (dated September 16, 2014) is for Version 3.0-10 of the Library.

Revision 3.0-00 (July 3, 2013)

Revision 3.0-00 is a major release and as such, it includes changes to both logic and HMI files.

Summary of Changes Here is a summary of the changes to the Library going from Version 2.x to Version 3.0-00.

1. New Instructions

The following new-for-3.0 instructions, and their graphic symbols and faceplates, are added:

P_AIChan: Analog input channel diagnostics object

P_PIDE: PlantPAx wrapper for the PIDE built-in instruction

P_PF753: PowerFlex 753 Variable Frequency Drive

P_Gate: Gating configuration to be used to Gate comparisons that can generate alarms

P_HiLoSel: High-Select or Low-Select override loop implementation object (AOI only)

Also, a new Simple Sequencer (P_Seq) is added as a separate component, but included with the Process

Library (as are the Logix Diagnostics instructions, LINT/LTIME instructions, Date/Time Math instructions

and Steam Table instructions).

Graphics and faceplate for the P_HiLoSel object were not ready for release at the time of this writing

and will be provided in a future update. The Add-On Instruction itself is released and may be used

without the HMI components.

FTView SE objects have been created for the built in Advanced Process Control (APC) Instructions. These

include graphic symbols, faceplates, quick displays, help displays and their supporting objects. These

objects were created for the following APC Instructions:

IMC: Internal Model Control

CC: Coordinated Control

MMC: Modular Multivariable Control

2. P_Alarm Updates

In order to more closely align with our interpretation of ANSI/ISA 18.2-2009 (an alarm management

standard published by ISA – see http://www.isa.org/standards), P_Alarm was modified as follows:

Page 6: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 6

Parameter naming in the add-on instruction was changed to align with FactoryTalk View 7.0

Alarms and Events tag-based (polled) alarm changes

o Program “Inhibited” is now “Suppressed” (ISA ‘suppressed by design’)

o Maintenance “Disabled” is kept as is (ISA ‘out of service’)

o Operator “Suppressed” is now “Shelved” (ISA ‘shelved’)

o “Inhibited” (Sts_AlmInh) is now used consistently as the generic term (as in ANSI/ISA

18.2) to mean any inhibiting of the alarm, in other words, ‘disabled or suppressed or

shelved’.

Shelving duration timing is added. An alarm can be set up to automatically unshelve after a

period of time.

In order to permit alarm unshelving at shift change (a technique described in the ISA standard)

and other programmatic alarm unshelving capabilities, each alarm has a Program Unshelve

command.

To accommodate the additional alarm configuration and control, a new faceplate has been created for

alarms. This faceplate is reached by clicking the alarm indicator on the alarm tab of the device

faceplate. Because alarms can now be configured using the alarm faceplate, the Alarm Configuration tab

has been removed from all device faceplates.

The changes to P_Alarm are extensive and are the primary reason that this update requires FactoryTalk

View version 7.0, and the reason this update is not a minor (2.1) version. For the time being,

applications running version 2.0-xx of the library should continue using that version.

3. P_Mode Updates

The P_Mode object and the PlantPAx Library Mode model have been updated to allow an Operator to

acquire an object from Program Mode without simultaneously locking the Mode in certain

configurations. A second button click is required to then lock the Mode in Operator. Likewise, in certain

configurations, it is now possible to unlock Operator Mode without releasing it to Program Mode.

“Ready” bits on the P_Mode object have changed, and the Mode buttons on objects which use P_Mode

have been modified to clearly show the behavior when a Mode change button is clicked.

4. Quick Displays

Quick displays have been created for most library objects with faceplates. These displays are smaller

than faceplates with only the information and controls an operator would need to run the equipment.

Each Quick display has a button which replaces the Quick with the “full” faceplate so that all other

features can be accessed.

Developers can configure display elements’ Global Object Parameters to show the full faceplate or quick

display. The choices are as follows:

Always show the Faceplate (this is the default if the parameter is not configured).

Always show the Quick display.

Show the Faceplate if the user has security code ‘C’ (basic Maintenance capabilities), otherwise

show the Quick display.

Page 7: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 7

5. Grayer Graphics, Bolder Alarms

In order to align with Abnormal Situation Management (ASM) Consortium guidelines, NAMUR standards

and the ISA HMI standard in development, graphic symbols have been changed to be much more “gray

scale” under normal situations, and to have much more prominent alarm display. Going from version

2.0 to version 3.0, the alarm severity indicator is now larger. The motor running status is now off-white

instead of green. The display element panels are now the same color as the display background.

In addition, status displays on the faceplate are gray scale when displaying ‘normal’ states.

6. Auto-Discovery Tags

All objects now have the tags Inf_Type and Inf_Lib to allow for auto-discovery. In the FTView SE version

of the HMI Library, when the display element is clicked, tags are read and used to build the name of the

faceplate display to call up.

All faceplates are identified by their type tag (Inf_Type) and library tag (Inf_Lib) in the object's AOI.

These tags are read and used to build the display name of the faceplate. With this method, the HMI

developer does not need to know the object's faceplate name during design. Also, by modifying these

tags in the AOI, the developer can display a custom faceplate using a standard library display element.

Display names are built as follows:

({value of Inf_Type}) {value of Inf_Lib}-faceplate

NOTE: When importing library 3.0 into an existing application, be sure the Inf_Type and Inf_Lib Local

Tag strings are set properly to the default value (same as the instruction name and “RA-BAS”

respectively). If not set properly, attempting to navigate to the particular analog input faceplate will

result in a “display not found” message.

NOTE: FTView ME cannot build a display command. Instead, the FTView ME version of the Library uses

multiple GoToDisplay buttons with visibility animation based on the Inf_Type tag. This functionality is

transparent to the user and no additional setup is required.

To support the new navigation capabilities, one Macro (.mcr) file must be installed in FactoryTalk View

SE (along with the images, global objects and displays).

7. Global Object file split

The file (RA-BAS) Process Faceplate Objects.ggfx is no longer used. Objects have been distributed into

the following new global object files:

• (RA-BAS) Process Faceplate Analog Objects.ggfx

• (RA-BAS) Process Faceplate Misc Objects.ggfx

• (RA-BAS) Process Faceplate Motor Objects.ggfx

• (RA-BAS) Process Faceplate Valve Objects.ggfx

• (RA-BAS) Process Interlock Objects.ggfx

By keeping the count of global objects in a single file to a minimum, faceplate call up time is improved.

Page 8: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 8

8. Icons, Breadcrumbs Are Now PNG Images

Most images used by the PlantPAx library are now drawn as PNG images (in the Images folder of the

FTView project). PNG images have true transparency that yields better looking images and their file size

is much smaller compared to a similar sized bitmap. Existing symbols and icons were redrawn with a

standard size for each class of images. Size was based on the image use and importance.

When installing the PlantPAx Library of Process Objects display components with FactoryTalk View

Studio, be sure to import all .PNG and all .BMP images.

In version 3.0, navigation and command button icons were converted to PNG images. In addition,

command button faces were also converted to images. This was done to create a more modern look for

the library and make it easier for developers to change button colors.

Users can modify any of these images simply using any drawing or photo utility that can read and write

PNG images

Note: When PNG images are imported into FactoryTalk View, the file extension is changed from ‘.PNG’

to ‘.BMP’. This is only a name change. The file remains in a PNG format.

Note: Since the P_Mode instruction now has a configurable default mode, it uses several new mode

indicators, including those for Program (Oper default), Program (Prog default), Operator (Oper default)

and Operator (Prog default). The images used when in the default mode (e.g., Oper when Oper default)

are “all transparent” (invisible) images, causing the mode symbol to be invisible when in the default

mode. To have the mode indicator on graphic symbols ALWAYS visible, simply copy the bitmaps from the

Prog / Oper default and Oper / Prog default images into the Prog / Prog default and Oper / Oper default

image files.

9. View Enhancements require View 7.0

The 3.0 Library takes advantage of new features in FactoryTalk View SE and ME software. The most

notable of these are the changes in FactoryTalk Alarms and Events. These changes are described in

more detail in 2. P_Alarm Updates above. Version 18 or later of Logix and Version 7.0 or later of View

are required for this release.

Important: It is required that the June 3, 2013 Patch Roll-Up be applied, along with FactoryTalk View

Patch 545298 which is not in this patch rollup and must be applied separately. Previous versions of these

release notes required the July patch rollup, which has since been removed.

10. Navigation

The method for navigating to Permissive, Interlock, Motor Runtime, Motor Restart Inhibit, Motor

Overload, Valve Statistics, and Analog Channel faceplates has changed. These objects now must be

named using the name of their parent object and a fixed suffix to identify them. This fixed name allows

the child faceplates to be displayed from the parent faceplate without having to configure the name of

the child object in the FTView application.

Page 9: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 9

In FTView SE only, the ability to navigate to upstream or downstream objects has been added for objects

that have inputs or outputs. These objects can be configured so users can click on the input or output in

the faceplate and navigate to the object that provides the input or uses the output.

11. Global Object Parameters

The global object parameters have changed for the library display elements. Configuration for ‘extra’

objects like permissives and interlocks has been removed (see 10. Navigation above). The following new

parameters have been added:

Path (include program scope if tag is a program scope tag) used for navigation

Two optional additional display parameter (e.g. /X100 or /CC)

Flag to indicate whether a faceplate or quick display appears when the user clicks the display

element (see 4. Quick Displays above).

NOTE: When the Path is Program-scoped, include the “dot” (period) at the end.

This dot is the separator between the Program name and the Tag Name.

Example Path: /::[MyShortcut]Program:ProgramName.

(Note the dot at the end)

12. Enable & Disable Buttons

The three sets of buttons for Motor, Valve, and Analog enable/disable have been combined into one

common enable/disable button set.

13. Allow Local Control Feature

Motor objects have a new option for allowing local control. When Cfg_AllowLocal is 0 (default), the

motor object functions as in version 2.0, and an unrequested change of state of a motor will result in a

failure status (and, if the corresponding alarm is enabled, an alarm). When Cfg_AllowLocal is 1, so long

as an Operator or Program-requested start or stop command is not active, a change in state of the

motor is simply tracked. A local start or stop (using hardwired circuits) can be performed without

alarming – the state change is simply reflected in the Status bits for the motor.

14. Operator Stop Priority Feature

Motor objects and other objects that have a definite “de-energized” state have a new option for

Operator stop priority. When Cfg_OperStopPrio is 0 (default), the device functions as in version 2.0,

where the device must be in Operator or Maintenance Mode to have the faceplate “Stop” button

enabled and have the Operator Stop Command (OCmd_Stop) recognized. When Cfg_OperStopPrio is 1,

the Operator Stop Command is always available. When the device is in Operator or Maintenance Mode,

the Operator Stop Command works as before. When the device is in Program or Override Mode, the

Operator Stop Command functions by setting an internal “shed” latch, preventing subsequent starting

until a Reset Command is received.

Page 10: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 10

15. Support for New and Future Analog Channel Objects

To support the new P_AIChan Analog Input Channel diagnostic object and future objects

(P_AIHARTChan for HART analog inputs, etc.), navigation capabilities were added to all the Analog Input

objects and other objects that use analog inputs. A configuration parameter “Cfg_HasXxxChanObj” was

added to the AOI definition, and navigation button and configuration was added to faceplates. Objects

supporting this new feature include:

P_AIn

P_AInAdv

P_AInDual

P_AInMulti

P_DoseFM

P_DoseWS

16. Support for Future Motor Overload Objects

To support future Motor Overload Objects (for the E1Plus, E3Plus, etc.), navigation capabilities and a

new button were added to all the Motor objects. A configuration parameter “Cfg_HasOvldObj” was

added to the AOI definition, and navigation button and configuration were added to faceplates. Objects

supporting this new feature include:

P_Motor

P_Motor2Spd

P_MotorHO

P_MotorRev

17. Fault Code Lookup on All Drive Objects

When the P_PF755 PowerFlex 755 Variable Frequency Drive object was released in Process Objects

release 2.0-07, in included the capability to look up a fault description associated with the current drive

fault code in a table (located in an array tag in the controller). That capability is also included in the new

P_PF753 PowerFlex 753 Variable Frequency Drive object and has been added in the basic P_VSD

Variable Speed Drive object.

The Microsoft Excel-based Online Configuration Tool (described below) includes downloadable fault

code lookup tables for the following drive families for use by these instructions:

PF75x (PowerFlex 755, PowerFlex 753)

PF525 (PowerFlex 525)

PF7xx (PowerFlex 70, PowerFlex 70EC, PowerFlex 700 (except PowerFlex 700S)

PF700S (PowerFlex 700S)

PFDC (PowerFlex DC)

PF4xx (PowerFlex 4, PowerFlex 40, PowerFlex 40P, PowerFlex 400)

Note: You will need to write MSG logic to retrieve the Fault Code from a PowerFlex 4, 40, 40P or 400

drive, as these drives do not support Datalinks.

Page 11: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 11

18. L_Redun Display Elements

The L_Redun display elements now accept the object PATH as the primary global object parameter. In

2.0, the full tagname was required (although earlier 2.0 releases erroneously labeled this parameter as

'path'). Also, replaced the text "Chassis A' and 'Chassis B' with the new configuration text on the

faceplate home page.

19. Faceplate and Help Screen Tabs and Pages

The faceplate tabs have changed so the current tab has a different appearance than other tabs in the SE

Library. The ME Library already had this ‘look.’ In the SE Library, this change required creating a new

global object for the current tab that is part of the tab background group.

The help screens now have multiple pages like other tabs of the faceplate. Previously, the help displays

were scrolled.

20. Bump Buttons

The CV (-1), (-10), (+1), and (+10) Bump Buttons were deleted from the P_AOut, P_ValveC, and Built-In

PIDE faceplates. Also, the CV graph changed so only Maintenance Users (security code ‘C’) can change

the CV using the slider.

21. New Tools

In addition to the FactoryTalk View Configuration Tool (color change tool), the following tools have been

added for version 3.0 of the PlantPAx Library of Process Objects:

Alarms Builder

Microsoft Excel-based Online Configuration Tool

The Alarms Builder is a stand-alone installable application used for building the FTA&E alarm import

based on the configuration of the P_Alarm instances in an RSLogix 5000 or Studio 5000 project.

The Online Configuration Tool is a multi-tabbed spreadsheet which uses OPC to upload (save) and

download (restore) the Configuration (.Cfg_) parameters from library instances in an online controller.

22. Other Minor Fixes

Recently-found minor anomalies in several instructions have been corrected. See the header comment

and revision information in each Add-On Instruction for details. Objects with fixes include:

P_D4SD

P_DOut

P_ValveMO

P_ValveMP

Summary of Changes Here is a summary of the changes to the Library going from Version 3.0-00 to Version 3.0-01.

1. P_Seq 3.0-01

The Simple Sequencer, P_Seq, was updated to correct the External Access attribute of the discrete

Outputs, Out_00 through Out_31, and the analog Outputs, Out_Real_00 through Out_Real_31.

Previously these outputs were set to ReadOnly, which prevented the faceplate from changing the

outputs when the sequence was not actively driving. The External Access was set to ReadWrite for

these parameters.

2. P_Alarm 3.0-01

The standard Alarm block, P_Alarm, was updated to allow a wider entry range for the Shelf Time.

Previously, Cfg_MaxShelfT was limited to values of 1 to 480 minutes (up to 8 hours). The FactoryTalk

Alarms and Events server allows alarms to be shelved for a much longer period of time. P_Alarm 3.0-01

allows entry of values from 1 to 34,560 minutes (24 days, the allowable range of a TON timer preset,

rounded down to the nearest day). Entering a value outside the allowed range will result in

Cfg_MaxShelfT being set to its default value of 480 minutes (8 hours).

3. Instructions that use P_Alarm

All instructions that use P_Alarm had the descriptions of alarm-related parameters corrected to

accurately describe the ownership of Shelving (Operator), Disable (Maintenance) and Suppression

(Program). Also, the description of Sts_AlmInh was corrected in these instructions. Because the

signatures of these instructions depend on the P_Alarm (now 3.0-01) signature, these instructions have

been up-revved and marked Version 3.0-01.

In addition to these parameter description changes, P_ValveC also had the description of Sts_Active

changed to be clearer.

4. P_Steam 2.0-02

The P_Steam Steam Table instruction was incorrectly range checking the input temperature and pressure. The instruction was limiting the temperature and pressure to the limits of the saturation curve, that is, temperatures and pressures greater than those of the triple point of water and less than those of the critical point of steam. P_Steam 2.0-02 now allows the complete range of values for the

ASME tables: pressures up to 100 MPa for temperatures up to 800°C, or up to 50 MPA from 800 to

2000°C.

5. P_PF753, P_PF755 3.0-01

The P_PF755 (PowerFlex 755 Variable Frequency Drive) and P_PF753 (PowerFlex 753 Variable Frequency

Drive) Add-On Instructions were modified to correctly detect requests for Hand Mode.

6. L_ChangeDet 3.0-01

The L_ChangeDet (Logix Change Detector) Add-On Instruction was modified to avoid errors in the

embedded Message (MSG) instructions when L_ChangeDet is executed in a Continuous Task.

7. Source-Protected Instructions No Longer Signed

The following source-protected Add-On Instructions (in their own AOI import files and in Rung import

files) no longer carry instruction signatures as well:

(RA-Seq) P_Seq-Faceplate.gfx 3.0-01 Made the field for the step number on the home page 5 characters

10. Differences between FTView ME and FTView SE features:

Navigation - In FTView SE, users can click on an input or output in the faceplate and navigate to the

object that provides the input or uses the output. The FTView ME version of the Library does not have

this ability to navigate to upstream or downstream objects. The tags used for navigation however, exist

in the controller and can be configured either by FTView SE or FTView ME to provide consistency

between visualization systems. This functionality is useful in hybrid systems that use both FTView ME

and SE HMIs.

Global Object Parameters - In FTView ME, if a Global Object Parameter does not have anything

entered and the parameter is used as a tag in the display, then FTView ME displays a diagnostic message

informing the user that the field is blank.

To avoid the diagnostic message, the HMI designer can enter a character in the Global Object Parameter

‘Value’ field such as ‘x’ or ‘Unused’. In most cases, this solution will not have any ill effects on the

operation of the displays.

Revision 3.0-02 (September 4, 2013)

Revision 3.0-02 provided updates to some of the Logix AOI’s, FactoryTalk View SE graphics, and

FactoryTalk View ME graphics.

1. P_PIDE

The P_PIDE “wrapper” instruction had the sense of its Low Deviation and Low-Low deviation thresholds

reversed to align with the P_AInAdv instruction (and the future P_PIDAdv instruction). Previously, the

Low and Low-Low deviation thresholds were positive numbers for the amount of deviation allowed

below the loop Setpoint. Now the thresholds are negative numbers (as is done in P_AInAdv and will be

done in future instructions) which set the threshold point in relation to the Setpoint (e.g., -10.0 sets the

threshold point 10 units below the Setpoint).

The default values of these Parameters in the AOI definition have been adjusted appropriately;

however, updating the AOI definition will not result in the values in your application instances being

updated. Therefore, be sure to review all instances of P_PIDE in your application and set these

Parameters appropriately (make them negative):

PSet_LoDevLim

PSet_LoLoDevLim

OSet_LoDevLim

OSet_LoLoDevLim

Setting the above Parameters will result in these Parameters being updated:

Val_LoDevLim

Val_LoLoDevLim

Check any application logic which references any of the above Parameters.

2. Motor and Drive Instructions

All Motor and Drive control instructions were modified to improve handling of situations where: (1) the

motor uses pulsed outputs, Out_Start and Out_Stop, (2) the motor is commanded to start, and (3) the

run feedback fails to indicate that the motor started. The new logic ensures that sending a stop

command to the Motor or Drive will always pulse the Stop output, regardless of feedback state.

3. P_D4SD

The “External Access” attribute of Parameters “Out_A” and “Out_B” was corrected to “ReadOnly”.

Previously, these outputs had their External Access set to “None”.

4. Instructions that use P_Alarm

All instructions that use P_Alarm had the descriptions of Alarm Severity configuration parameters

corrected to use the 3.0 Library assignments for severity: 1 = Low, 2 = Medium, 3 = High, 4 = Highest.

Page 16: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 16

Previously, many instructions had descriptions for Cfg_(alarm)Severity that used the 2.0 Library severity

names.

5. Revision 3.0-02 Process Library SE updates:

Revision 3.0-03 provided updates to some of the Logix AOI’s. There are no updates to FactoryTalk View

SE graphics, and FactoryTalk View ME graphics.

1. Motor and Drive Instructions

All Motor and Drive control instructions were modified to correct an anomaly introduced in the previous

update. The anomaly affected operation in Simulation. This update corrects the anomaly and provides

further improvement in handling of pulsed outputs, for ALL start and stop commands and trips which set

the motor Status to “Not Ready”. The logic ensures that a newly commanded state will always generate

a proper pulse output, regardless of feedback or prior operations.

In addition, these instructions had the default values corrected for all “Has Alarm” configuration bits and

all Alarm Severities.

Instructions affected:

P_Motor Single-Speed Motor

P_Motor2Spd Two-Speed Motor

P_MotorRev Reversing Motor

P_PF753 PowerFlex 753 Variable Frequency Drive

P_PF755 PowerFlex 755 Variable Frequency Drive

P_VSD Variable Speed Drive

Note that to use the above instructions, you must first download and install the applicable Module Add-

On Profiles and Electronic Data Sheet files. Check the downloads sections on www.ab.com and

www.endress.com for these files.

A sample application with an instance of each of the above instructions is included in the

“Files\Premier Integration Object Library\Project” folder of the extracted library ZIP file.

FactoryTalk View SE displays have been added to the library for Premier Integration field devices.

FactoryTalk View ME graphics will be included in a future release.

The following FactoryTalk View SE Global Object files have been added for Endress+Hauser devices:

(RA-EH) Instrument Faceplate Objects.ggfx

(RA-EH) Instrument Graphics Library.ggfx

2. P_Alarm Add-On Instruction Logic

The P_Alarm instruction had its logic modified to improve checking for invalid configuration data. The

Cfg_MaxShelfT parameter validity checking was modified to ensure that a negative timer preset (which

would fault the control application) would not be generated.

All instructions that use P_Alarm for alarming were up-revised and signed with the new version of

P_Alarm.

3. Alarm Add-On Instruction Configuration Defaults

In the previous release, many of the instructions that use P_Alarm had their alarm configuration

parameter default values set to the defaults for P_Alarm. These values are now set appropriately for

each object. Specifically, alarms default to the following configuration:

Configured to NOT exist until enabled by the user

Configured to NOT require reset

Configured to require acknowledgement

Severity configured for the particular alarm, rather than the P_Alarm default of 3 (“high”).

4. Add-On Instruction Parameter Default Values and Descriptions

A number of AOI Parameter descriptions were corrected to better align with the wording in manuals,

especially for Program Commands for Alarms (Acknowledge, Suppress, Unsuppress and Unshelve).

A number of AOI Parameter default values were corrected. Specifically:

All Interlock OK and Permissive OK inputs were set to a default value of 1. This allows each

device to operate if no P_Intlk or P_Perm block is connected to these inputs.

In addition to the above, the inputs for Drive Ready, Commanded Direction and Actual Direction

for P_VSD. This allows the drive to run forward if these inputs are not connected, as would be

done with a non-Allen-Bradley variable speed drive connected by hard I/O (for example).

Page 26: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 26

For P_D4SD, Cfg_NumStates was changed from 0 (which is an invalid value) to 2 (the

documented default).

5. P_PIDE

P_PIDE logic was modified so that a reset is not required to clear the interlock shed latch after

interlocks become OK in order to resume operation. Previously, if an Interlock went to the not-OK

state, then back to the OK state, a reset was required to clear the internal latch and return to an

operating state.

If you want an interlock to be latched, use a P_Intlk object with the P_PIDE instance and configure

the individual interlock with “Reset Reqd”. The interlock will need to be reset at the P_Intlk block.

P_PIDE logic was modified to ensure that all alarms are acknowledged and/or reset by Reset

commands and the Operator “Reset and Ack All” command. Previously, the loop failure alarm may

have required individual acknowledgement.

6. P_SEQ

P_SEQ logic was modified to correct two issues:

The Restart initialization logic was modified to correctly handle the case where a sequence is

started (by Maintenance or Engineering) on a step other than Step 1.

The logic for setting and clearing discrete outputs was modified to correctly handle masking,

ensuring that bits with a mask of 1 would always be set or cleared.

7. P_PF755, P_PF753

These instructions now have their required datalink configuration included in the custom Instruction

Help (F1 from the instruction instance).

8. All VSD Fault Code Tags Included in Template

The tags with the list of Fault Codes and Fault Descriptions for various Allen-Bradley Drive families

are now included in the Template ACD files. These include fault codes/descriptions for:

PowerFlex 4 / 40 drives

PowerFlex 523 / 525 drives

PowerFlex 70 / 70EC / 700 drives (including PowerFlex 700H)

PowerFlex 700S drives

PowerFlex 753 / 755 drives

PowerFlex DC drives

9. New Templates and Updated Samples Application

The Template application has been replaced by three templates as described in the PlantPAx System

Application Templates Quick Start Manual, Publication PROCES-QS001_-EN-P, available on the

Rockwell Automation Literature Library.

Revision 3.0-05 (January 21, 2014)

Revision 3.0-05 provides updates to Logix AOI’s, FactoryTalk View SE graphics, and FactoryTalk View ME

graphics. See numbered list below for details.

1. Premier Integration Instructions Now in V18

When the Premier Integration Instructions were added to the Library in Release 3.0-04, they were

maintained in their previous RSLogix 5000 V19 format. The Add-On Instructions have now been

backported to V18 of RSLogix 5000. This affects the following Add-On Instructions

I_AB56IF8H 1756-IF8H HART Analog Input Module object

I_AB56IF16H 1756-IF16H HART Analog Input Module object

I_AB56IFxH_Chan 1756 HART Analog input Channel object

I_EH_FlowmeterPromag53E E+H Promag 53 Magnetic Flowmeter on EtherNet/IP

I_EH_FlowmeterPromass83E E+H Promass 83 Mass Flowmeter on EtherNet/IP

I_EH_FlowmeterPromass100FW1 Promass 100 Mass Flowmeter Firmware 1.x

I_EH_FlowmeterPromass100FW2 Promass 100 Mass Flowmeter Firmware 2.x

P_AIn56H 1756 (ControlLogix) HART Analog Input object

P_AIn94H 1794 (Flex I/O) HART Analog Input object

P_AInEIP EtherNet/IP Analog Input object

P_AInFFR Foundation Fieldbus Analog Input object (EN2FFR)

P_AInPAR Profibus Analog Input object (EN2PAR)

Note that the sample application for Premier Integration Instructions in the Premier Integration

“Project” folder is still in V19 for this release. However, the above instructions are now included in V18

in the Template_PlantPAxLib_3_0_05_all.ACD application template.

2. PlantPAx Online Configuration Tool

A small text file was added to the distribution folder as a reminder that, because the Configuration Tool

uses RSLinx Classic OPC/DA for its online communication, and RSLinx Classic OPC Server is a 32-bit

application, the tool is only supported in 32-bit editions of Microsoft Excel. (However, the tool works

fine on 64-bit Microsoft Windows operating systems – it simply requires a 32-bit installation of

Microsoft Excel / Microsoft Office.)

3. 1756 HART Analog Input Changes

The following changes were made to the P_AIn56H Add-On Instruction:

Corrected logic to get HART variable units of measure text from the proper list (reference tag).

Modified logic to report “PV Uncertain” when any HART Fault Code is non-zero.

4. Flowmeter and Weigh Scale Dosing Instruction Changes

The following changes were made to P_DoseFM and P_DoseWS:

Page 32: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 32

For both instructions, corrected the logic for checking the Settle Time configuration for invalid

values.

For P_DoseWS, added a new Parameter Err_Qty. Needed because the entry for Maximum

Quantity and the entry for the Tare Fault Limit are on now on separate pages of the Faceplate.

These Error bits are used to make the Invalid Configuration indicators (magenta X box) visible.

Also, the configuration check comparison for the Tare Fault Limit was corrected – only values

greater than zero are allowed.

5. Enhanced PID (PIDE Wrapper) Instruction Changes

The following changes were made to P_PIDE:

Corrected handling of Operator Settings for deviation thresholds when they result in compare

points that are outside the PV range.

Logic was added to force the internal PIDE instruction Timing Mode to Periodic.

Added Err_InstrFault to show an Instruction Fault on the faceplate when the internal PIDE

instruction declares an instruction fault (usually the result of a configuration problem).

6. Pressure / Temperature Compensation Instruction Change

The P_PTComp instruction was modified to correct the compensation calculation.

7. Control Valve Instruction Changes

The following changes were made to P_ValveC:

The logic to determine Val_Sts and Val_Fault was corrected.

A note on instruction configuration was added to the online Instruction Help

8. New “ISO Week Date” Instruction

A new Add-On Instruction, T_TtoISO_WkDate, was added to the Time and Date instructions that come

with the PlantPAx Library. This new instruction takes a usual DateTime input (common calendar date

and time as year / month / day / hour / minute / second / microsecond) and returns the ISO 8601 week

date.

The ISO Week Date is based on a calendar having an integral number of weeks (52 or 53) staring on the

Monday nearest January 1 (which can be from December 29th of the previous calendar year to January

4th of the current calendar year). For example, the ISO Week Date for this Release Notes document

(January 22, 2014) would be 2014-W04-3 (fourth week, Wednesday of the year 2014).

The instruction provides the ISO Week Date year, week number (1 to 53) and day (day of the week with

1=Monday thru 7=Sunday) for the given date. The instruction also returns the number of weeks (52 or

53) for the returned ISO year (which might be different from the input year!).

9. Other Minor Corrections

The following objects have minor corrections to Add-On Instruction Parameter descriptions or default

values:

Page 33: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 33

P_AIChan Corrections to Parameter descriptions only.

P_D4SD Corrected Parameter default values for Interlock and Permissive Inputs.

P_DoseFM Corrected default value of Cfg_SetTrack.

P_Fanout Corrections to Parameter descriptions only.

P_nPos Correction to determination of position feedback when device is simulated.

P_PIDE Corrections to several Parameter descriptions.

P_ValveHO Corrected logic for limit switch failure detection. Corrected default parameter

values for limit switch configuration and Cfg_PCmdClear.

P_ValveMO Modified logic to ensure PCmd_Stop has priority over PCmd_Open and

PCmd_Close when valve is in Program Mode.

P_ValveSO Corrections to Parameter descriptions only.

P_VSD Modified to prevent conflicting simulation scaling configurations. Minor

tweak to optimize out redundant logic.

10. Numeric Display Changes in the Process Library FactoryTalk View SE Graphics

In many cases, numeric data was displayed using the FactoryTalk View String Display. This caused a

problem when the data overflowed or underflowed the field size. These fields have all been changed to

numeric fields with two decimal places (matching the existing display elements) and configured to

‘round value’ (rather than ‘show exponent’).

Revision 3.0-06 (January 31, 2014)

Revision 3.0-06 provides updates to Logix AOI’s, FactoryTalk View SE graphics, and FactoryTalk View ME

graphics. See numbered list below for details.

1. New P_Prompt instruction

This instruction is used to post a prompt (with data, see below) to an operator and accept operator-

input data (see below) and confirmation. The configuration data for a set of prompts are stored in a

separate array. An array element of prompt configuration data includes:

Prompt message displayed to operator (80-character string)

A prompt label (20 characters) for use on prompt list displays

Configuration for FOUR response selections (operator chooses one of the four buttons), each

with:

- selection label (20 character string)

- selection enable

- selection default

Configuration for FOUR numeric (REAL) display values, each with:

- display value label (20 char)

- display value engineering units (8 char)

- display value enable

- value to display (from configuration or AOI input)

- option to scale displayed value

Configuration for FOUR numeric (REAL) operator entries, each with:

- numeric entry label (20 char)

- numeric entry engineering units (8 char)

- entry low and high limits (REAL)

- option for entry required or not

- if entry not required, option to use minimum or maximum

value as entry default

- option to require operator verify entered value

Configuration for FOUR string response operator entries, each with:

- response label (20 char)

- response enable

- option for response entry (non-empty string) required

The prompt response includes the numeric entries, the operator selection (choice among up to

four), and the operator response string entries. The number entries are also available as 16-

character text strings for use in building text for reports, etc.

Page 40: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 40

The P_Prompt Add-On Instruction (AOI) is available as an AOI Import and as a Rung Import. The

Rung import will create the related array tags (InOut Parameters) needed for storage of prompt

configuration and prompt response text.

To support the P_Prompt AOI, a new FactoryTalk View SE global object file “(RA-UI) Prompt

Objects.ggfx” has been added to the library, along with the following FactoryTalk View SE displays:

(RA-UI) P_Prompt-Config.gfx

(RA-UI) P_Prompt-Response.gfx

(RA-UI) P_Prompt-Select.gfx

Note that the following FactoryTalk View SE displays have been removed from the library:

(RA-Seq) P_Manual_Prompt-Response.gfx

(RA-Seq) P_Manual_Prompt-Select.gfx

The new Prompt Global Object file contains objects that were moved from “(RA-Seq) Standard

Objects.ggfx”. The following FactoryTalk View SE displays were modified as a result of the global

object file changes:

(RA-Seq) P_Seq-Config-Step.gfx

(RA-Seq) P_Seq-Config-MultiStep.gfx

(RA-Seq) P_Seq-Detail.gfx

(RA-Seq) P_Seq-Faceplate.gfx

2. Modifications to Simple Sequencer

The Simple Sequencer (P_Seq) was modified to work with the new P_Prompt Manual Prompt

instruction. Changes made include:

Correction to parameters used to interface between the instructions

Addition of Quantity / Scaling parameters to P_Seq for use in prompting with amounts such

as addition quantities (scaled to the quantity of material being produced). The Quantity /

Scaling values include scaling to percent.

To support changes made to the scaling function the following FactoryTalk View SE displays have

been modified:

Revision 3.0-07 (February 28, 2014)

Revision 3.0-07 provides updates to Logix AOI’s, FactoryTalk View SE graphics, and FactoryTalk View ME

graphics. See numbered list below for details.

1. Endress+Hauser Device AOIs

The following Add-On Instructions for use with Endress+Hauser EtherNet/IP instruments were

modified to correct the default value of “Inf_Type”, a Local String used to identify the faceplate to

call up for the instruction:

I_EH_FlowmeterPromag53E

I_EH_FlowmeterPromass83E

I_EH_FlowmeterPromass100FW1

I_EH_FlowmeterPromass100FW2

If you already have these instructions in use in your application, you need to correct the value of this

local tag. This can be accomplished by following these steps for each of the instructions above:

In the Controller Organizer, expand the Add-On Instruction (click “+”).

Double-click “Programs and Local Tags”.

Select the “Monitor Tags” tab at the bottom of the window that opens.

In the Data Context pull-down (at the upper left of the window), select each instance of the Add-

On Instruction in your application.

Scroll down to Inf_Type and set the string value to ‘I_EH_Flowmeter’.

2. HART, Foundation Fieldbus, ProfiBus-PA and EtherNet/IP Analog Inputs

The following Add-On Instructions for use with HART, Fieldbus, ProfiBus-PA and EtherNet/IP

instruments were modified to correct the default value of the status Gate inputs:

P_AIn56H

Page 47: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 47

P_AIn94H

P_AInEIP

P_AInFFR

P_AInPAR

If you already have these instructions in use in your application, you probably need to correct the

value of these parameters. This can be accomplished by following these steps for each of the

instructions above:

In the Controller Organizer, expand the Add-On Instruction (click “+”).

Double-click “Programs and Local Tags”.

Select the “Monitor Tags” tab at the bottom of the window that opens.

In the Data Context pull-down (at the upper left of the window), select each instance of the Add-

On Instruction in your application.

Scroll down to Inp_FailGate, Inp_HiGate, Inp_HiHiGate, Inp_LoGate and Inp_LoLoGate and set

the parameter value to 1.

Leaving the value of a Gate inputs at 0 inhibits the corresponding Status (e.g., Sts_HiHi) and Alarm

(e.g., Alm_HiHi).

3. P_HiLoSel

The descriptive name used on the face of the P_HiLoSel instruction was changed to be consistent

with common usage and the faceplate and graphics files.

4. P_PIDE

The P_PIDE instruction was modified so the user can enable the PIDE Autotune function.

Previously, the P_PIDE instruction used Structured Text to access the PIDE built-in instruction. The

Autotune function in not available in Structured Text.

Now, a “sub-AOI” has been added which simply contains a Function Block Diagram “Logic” routine

with a bare PIDE block. A Local Tag on the outer (containing) AOI has been added: Wrk_Autotune.

This is the Autotune tag for use with the contained Function Block PIDE.

However, Rockwell Automation licenses the Autotune function from a third party. It is a violation of

Rockwell’s license to provide the Autotune function in a form that users of RSLogix 5000 / Studio

5000 Logix Designer without the Function Block Diagram / Structured Text option or the

Professional level software license can use. Enabling the Autotune function in the P_PIDE AOI by

default would be such a violation.

Therefore, the P_PIDE_only sub-AOI is provide with an Autotune TAG, but with the Autotune tag

NOT edited into the PIDE Function Block. (The Autotune tag on the Function Block is optional, but

AOIs do not support optional paramters.)

In order to enable Autotune for your application:

Remove the signature from the P_PIDE_only AOI.

Open the Logic routine of the P_PIDE_only AOI.

Edit the Function Block Diagram to set the Autotune Tag to “Ref_Autotune”.

Save your changes and download to your controller.

Page 49: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 49

If you make the change above, the outer P_PIDE AOI automatically checks on powerup for response

from the Autotune function and will automatically enable the Autotune button on the faceplate.

This is a supported end-user / solution-provider change.

5. P_Seq Sequencer

The P_Seq Simple Sequencer Add-On Instruction was modified to change handling of branch targets

when steps are inserted or deleted using the sequencer configuration faceplates online.

Previously, it was possible to fault the controller by inserting and deleting steps in a way that would

leave a branch pointing to a step past the end of the associated step array.

Now, branch targets are modified on step insert/delete in a way that prevents an invalid branch

target.

At the time of this release, the P_Seq Reference Manual was in final review and about to be issued.

Please refer to that manual, which will be available on the Rockwell Automation Literature Library,

for details on handling of branch targets when steps are inserted or deleted.

Page 50: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 50

6. Date and Time Library

A change was made to the T_ADD instruction. This instruction is used to take a point in time (a

DateTime), add an amount of time, and result in a new point in time. The instruction’s operands are

all InOut (reference) parameters and are used / modified in-place. In the previous version of the

T_ADD instruction, incorrect results were generated if a user tried to “bump” a DateTime, that is,

use the same Tag as the input point in time and as the output point in time, for example:

A workaround was to use a third tag as Ref_Out, then copy the result back to the original tag:

In this release, the T_ADD instruction was changed so that the input (Ref_DT) is buffered so that it

cannot be modified when the same tag is used as Ref_Out.

In concert with this change, all instructions that use T_ADD were also updated and re-exported:

T_DST

T_EQU

T_NEQ

T_GRT

T_GEQ

T_LES

T_LEQ

T_LtoT

T_Sync

T_SUB

In addition, T_Sync was modified so that, if your EtherNet/IP interface module is configured with

nameserver addresses, it can access the time server by hostname rather than by IP Address.

Page 51: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 51

The default timeserver is set to “time.nist.gov”. This is actually an alias which redirects to any of a

number of reliable time servers on the Internet. However, even if you use this redirect, you should

limit your frequency of access to these shared resources. Rockwell Automation recommends you

leave the polling time configuration set in the AOI as is, at 1440 minutes (once a day) normally, and

60 minutes (once an hour) for retries on failure. (You can access an internal reliable time server on

your domain at whatever works for you.)

To replace an existing instance of T_Sync, it is strongly recommended that you delete the instruction

instance, then use the T_Sync_1_0-02_RUNG.L5X rung import file. In the Rung Import dialog, BE

SURE to Create or OVERWRITE (NOT “Use Existing”!) all the data types, tags, and AOI definition (in

the tree):

7. Hart Analog Input Faceplates

The Hart Analog Input Faceplates were changed to use Val_Fdbk for the Communication Status on

the Home Tab. This change was made so the faceplate would accurately display the status reported

from the device. A new Communication Status global object (GO_Val_Fdbk) was created for the

Hart faceplates. The following files were modified for this change:

(RA-BAS) Common Faceplate Objects.ggfx (created the new object GO_Val_Fdbk)

Revision 3.0-08 (April 4, 2014)

Revision 3.0-08 provides updates to Logix AOI’s, FactoryTalk View SE graphics, and FactoryTalk View ME

graphics. See numbered list below for details.

1. Analog Input and Premier Integration AOIs

The following Add-On Instructions for use with Analog Inputs, HART I/O, Foundation Fieldbus,

ProfiBus/PA, and Endress+Hauser EtherNet/IP instruments were modified to improve the handling of

floating-point exception values of input REAL data, such as Infinity (+/-1.$) or NotANumber (+/-

1.#QNaN):

I_AB56IF8H

I_AB56IF16H

I_AB56IFxH_Chan

I_EH_FlowmeterPromag53E

I_EH_FlowmeterPromass83E

I_EH_FlowmeterPromass100FW1

I_EH_FlowmeterPromass100FW2

P_AIn

P_AIn56H

P_AIn94H

P_AInAdv

P_AInDual

P_AInEIP

P_AInFFR

P_AInMulti

P_AInPAR

Previously, these instructions would throw Minor Faults (Type 4, Code 4: Instruction Data Overflow)

when presented with Infinite, NotANumber, or Indefinite values (Floating Point Exception Values in IEEE-

754). The instructions have been modified to improve detection and pass-thru or handling of these

exception values and not execute logic on them that would throw controller Minor Faults.

When these instructions are used in Ladder Diagram routines, REAL inputs with Floating Point Exception

values will not issue Minor Faults. When used in Function Block Diagram routines, the function block

implementation of the Add-On Instruction container WILL issue a Minor Fault on processing a REAL

input pin that has a Floating Point Exception value. This is a characteristic of the Function Block Diagram

language on Logix controllers.

Page 54: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 54

2. P_PIDE

In the previous release of the PlantPAx Library (3.0-07), the P_PIDE (Enhanced Proportional + Integral +

Derivative Control) Add-On Instruction was modified to allow user modification to add Autotune

capability. This update corrects an anomaly introduced in that release.

In that release, if the Autotune capability is NOT added (the default), the P_PIDE AOI, upon execution,

has its contained built-in PIDE instruction generate a fault for bad Autotune data, which shows on the

faceplate. This release tests for the bad Autotune data instruction fault when the Autotune capability is

not used and handles it.

Logic was also added to the P_PIDE Prescan routine to set the Cfg_CVEU string to “%”. The CV in the

PIDE instruction is always in percent and is not configurable, so the string value is written with “%” on

powerup or PROG to RUN transition. (The Cfg_CVEU string local tag has External Access set to

Read/Write for HMI graphic symbol compatibility with future PID control capabilities.)

3. P_ValveMP

The P_ValveMP Mix Proof Valve Add-On Instruction was modified to correct the spelling of the name of

the PCmd_IOFaultSuppress parameter.

4. P_Seq

The P_Seq Simple Sequencer Add-On Instruction was modified to improve handling of the “Standard

Quantity” and the Operator-entered quantity. The instruction now resets the Operator-entered

quantity to the configured Standard Quantity:

when the Sequence is Reset to the Idle state (from Complete or Stopped);

when a Sequence Reset is received in the Idle state (Rdy_SeqReset logic was modified to allow

for this); or

when the Standard Quantity configuration value is changed, if the sequence is Idle.

Also, the logic for the Rdy_NextStep output was corrected.

5. P_Prompt

The P_Prompt Operator Prompt Add-On Instruction was modified to improve error-checking on the sizes

of the arrays used in configuring the prompt and the array used to hold the data entered in response to

the prompt.

A minor change was made in how alerts are generated for display of text and numeric values.

6. Sample and Template ACD files

The sample and template ACD files that ship with the Library have been expanded to help customers

having problems opening files in a specific version of RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000 Logix Designer

software.

The Library files are created on version 18 of RSLogix 5000 software so that they can be used by any

release of Logix that supports AOI Parameter Aliases and Instruction Signatures (all versions from 18

Page 55: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 55

onward). When a user attempts to open a sample or template ACD that contains AOIs that depend on

Add-On Profiles (AOPs) in a newer version of RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000, if the AOPs are not already

installed on the workstation, the file will not convert to the newer version.

This release of the PlantPAx Libraries provides all ACDs that depend on Add-On Profiles in ALL shipping

versions (V18, V19, V20 and V21) so the user will not have to convert to the new version and the file can

be opened, even if the AOPs are not installed.

7. XML Files removed from the color change folders in the PlantPAx library download

The display and global object XML files have been removed from the color change folders in the library

download. The Color Association Files (CAXML) and the Color Palate XML file remain. Since the display

and XML files can be generated from View Studio, including these files in the download was redundant.

Removing these files also decreases the overall download size.

Before using the color change utility, export the display and global object XML files using FactoryTalk

View Studio. Next, copy the color association files (CAXML) to the same folder(s) where the display and

global object xml files were exported.

8. FactoryTalk View ME support for the Sequencer and Prompt added

Support for the Sequencer and Prompt objects by the FTView ME HMI has been added to the PlantPAx

Library. These include a Sample application, a Template application and all displays, global objects,

FTView tags and macros. The FTView ME version of the Sequencer is similar to the FTView SE version.

There are, however, some differences in the operation of the Sequencer due to differing abilities of the

FTView ME software. Most notably, the FTView ME version can only address 487 steps in a sequence

without modification. Other changes are more procedural than substantive.

9. Revision 3.0-08 FactoryTalk View SE Graphics Changes

(RA-BAS) P_AIChan-Faceplate.gfx 3.0-03 Corrected incorrect tag names on the object "ChannelAction"

on the home tab. Also corrected the tag name for the units in

the tool-tip for SAMA_FunctionSymbol on the Engineering

(RA-Seq) P_Seq-Faceplate.gfx 3.0-03 Corrected the touch animation for the Minimum Quantity

numeric edit on the Engineering Tab. There were extra

parameters. It worked before, but this is better. Added the

NextStepDisplayGroup to the Operator Tab. This allows the

user to change the next sequence step when the sequence is

paused or idle.

(RA-Seq) Standard Objects.ggfx 3.0-03 Changed the font size of the input or output number from 12 to

Revision 3.0-09 (June 13, 2014)

Revision 3.0-09 provides updates to Logix AOI’s, FactoryTalk View SE graphics, and FactoryTalk View ME

graphics. See numbered list below for details.

1. Motor and Drive Add-On Instructions: Stop Retriggering

The motor and drive Add-On Instructions were modified to use the Stop Retrigger function in Operator

mode in addition to Maintenance mode . The modified logic also ensures that the Out_Stop output

pulses when a Stop command is received (from any source) after an attempt to start, even if the motor’s

run feedback indicates that the motor is already stopped.

The following Add-On Instructions were updated:

P_Motor Single-Speed Motor

P_Motor2Spd Two-Speed Motor

P_MotorRev Reversing Motor

P_PF753 PowerFlex 753 Variable Frequency Drive

P_PF755 PowerFlex 755 Variable Frequency Drive

P_VSD Variable Speed Drive

2. Enhanced PID (P_PIDE)

The P_PIDE Enhanced PID Add-On Instruction was modified to ensure the Loop Mode Ready bits

(Rdy_Casc, Rdy_Auto, Rdy_Man) enable the Loop Mode selection buttons on the HMI Faceplate at the

proper times. Also, the logic for Sts_Fail and Alm_Fail (loop failure status and alarm) were modified to

avoid spurious indications. Finally, the logic for Clamp indicators (setpoint and CV limiting) was modified

to improve the usefulness of the indicators based on the current Loop Mode..

3. HART Analog Input (P_AIn56H)

The P_AIn56H HART Analog Input Add-On Instruction was modified to ensure the Program Settings and

Operator Settings for status / alarm thresholds (high-high, high, low, low-low) track each other properly

when Cfg_SetTrack = 1.

4. Discrete Output (P_DOut)

The P_DOut Discrete Output Add-On Instruction was modified to ensure the ready-to-reset bits properly

account for the I/O Fault shed latch. The ready-to-reset bits (Rdy_Reset, Rdy_ResetAckAll) determine

the animation state (enabled or grayed out) of the reset pushbuttons on the HMI Faceplate.

5. Quantity Reset Added to the Sequencer Displays

A reset button has been added next to the Quantity numeric entry fields on the sequencer displays. The

reset button allows the user to reset the Quantity to its default value if it has been modified. The

following displays contain the Quantity numeric input and reset button:

Revision 3.0-10 (September 12, 2014)

Revision 3.0-10 provides a new Logix Add-On Instruction, updates to several existing AOI’s, and updates

to FactoryTalk View SE and FactoryTalk View ME graphics. See numbered list below for details.

1. Drive Add-On Instructions: Stop Output

The drive Add-On Instructions were modified to prevent a Drive Not Ready condition from holding the

Stop output asserted. Asserting the Stop output causes most Allen-Bradley drives to show not ready,

and the previous logic would cause the drive not ready condition to effectively lock out the drive. Now

the Drive Not Ready condition is displayed and will stop the drive, but does not hold the Stop output

asserted.

The following Add-On Instructions were updated:

P_PF753 PowerFlex 753 Variable Frequency Drive

P_PF755 PowerFlex 755 Variable Frequency Drive

P_VSD Variable Speed Drive

2. Enhanced PID (P_PIDE)

The P_PIDE Enhanced PID Add-On Instruction was modified to ensure that using a reverse-scaled output

(CVEU) is handled correctly. Previously, the instruction did not allow a reverse-scaled CVEU, even

though the contained PIDE function block has the capability for reverse scaling of its output.

3. 1756-Platform HART Analog Input Modules

The 1756 (ControlLogix family) HART Analog Input Module Add-On Instructions were modified to

improve handling of instrument-supplied data when a HART instrument is replaced with a non-HART

instrument, or the HART communication becomes unresponsive.

A MSG instruction is used internally by these AOIs to retrieve Device Information data from the HART

instrument. Previously, data left in the communication buffer could be returned as the Device

Information when a device is not a HART device or when the device does not respond. Now the error

detection is improved, and when an instrument does not provide HART data, a text description is

returned that indicates the HART data could not be retrieved.

The following Add-On Instructions were updated:

I_AB56IF8H 1756-IF8H HART Analog Input Module

I_AB56IF16H 1756-IF16H HART Analog Input Module

4. n-Position Device (P_nPos)

The P_nPos Add-On Instruction was modified to ensure a reset clears all shed latch conditions.

Page 62: PlantPAx Library of Process Objects Add On Instructions

PlantPAx Library Version 3.0-10 Release Notes September 16, 2014 Page 62

5. Control Valve (P_ValveC)

The P_ValveC Add-On Instruction was modified to check for valid scaling configuration before

performing the position feedback scaling calculation. Previously, if the raw feedback minimum and

maximum were equal, a configuration error was shown, but the scaling calculation was performed,

resulting in a divide-by-zero Minor Fault in the fault log.

6. Logix CPU Utilization for V23

A new L_CPU_23 Add-On Instruction was added to the Logix Diagnostics library. This instruction

provides the same functionality as the other L_CPU_xx AOIs, but for the newly-released Version 23 of

Studio 5000 Logix Designer and Logix firmware V23.

The same graphic symbols and faceplates are used for all L_CPU instructions regardless of firmware

version, and there are no new graphics or graphics changes needed to support this new instruction.

7. P_PIDE Faceplate changes for FactoryTalk View SE and ME

The “Proportional Action on SP Change” and “Derivative Action on SP Change” radio button captions

were switched. These appear on Maintenance Page 5 of the P_PIDE Faceplate. The State 0 caption now

reads “Full (Loop Error)” while the State 1 caption now reads “None (PV Only)” for each set of radio

buttons.

Library Release Version 3.0-1010 FTView SE Graphics File Revisions and Dates

NOTE: The pop-up data entry screen for the FTView SE library ‘(RA-BAS) Common-AnalogEdit.gfx’ uses

version 11.0.8000.0 of the DLL ‘FM20.DLL’. If you have a newer version of the ‘FM20.DLL’, no action is

required; however, you will receive a warning in the diagnostic log upon use. This situation can be

resolved by importing (RA-BAS) Common-AnalogEdit.gfx into your project again. On Distributed FTView

SE systems, Client Stations should have the same version of the ‘FM20.DLL’ as the Server.
