The Derby Public School District encourages interaction from Facebook users but is not responsible for comments or wall postings made by visitors to the page. Comments posted also do not in any way reflect the opinions or policies of the District.

We reserve the right, but assume no obligation, to remove comments that are racist, sexist, abusive, profane, violent, obscene, spam, contain falsehoods or are wildly off-topic, or that libel, incite, threaten or make ad hominem attacks on USD 260 students, employees, guests or other individuals. We also do not permit messages selling products or promoting commercial or other ventures. Comments are also subject to Facebook’s Terms of Use and Code of Conduct policies.

Derby Public Schools asks that people making comments on the page show respect for their fellow users by ensuring the discussion remains civil, especially since Facebook allows individuals 13 and over to join. Remember that your name and photo will be seen next to your comments, visible to all visitors on the page. Facebook and Derby Public Schools encourages all users to utilize the “Report” links when they find abusive content.

Facebook does not allow any information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have information posted on our page from a child under age 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible and report that user to Facebook. How to set up a Facebook page:

1.  Log in to your profile. 2.  Go to a page you have ‘Liked’. In the bottom left

corner you will find some links. A. Click on 'Create a Page for My Business'

How to set up a Facebook page: 3. You will be taken to the “Create a Page” screen

Ignore the Community Page- just focus on the Official Page 1. Fill in the blanks: Local Business: Education 2. Page Name: IMPORTANT

How to set up a Facebook page:

3.  Agree that you are an official representative of the organization and have permission to create this page.

4. Click “CREATE OFFICAL PAGE”

Set up a Vanity URL

Here are 5 simple steps. 1. Must have 25 “Likes” to set up vanity URL. 2. Visit www.facebook.com/username.

•  Click "Set a username for your pages" You can also set a username for your personal profile here as well.

3. Select the page you would like to set the URL for.

4.  Check the availability of the text you wish to use. IMPORTANT: Once the URL is set, it cannot be changed.

If you make an error in spelling, you are going to be stuck with it. Please take your time.

Set up a Vanity URL •  If your desired URL is available, CONGRATS, you now

have a vanity URL! If it is not available keep trying until you find one that works. You will not be able to change your URL once it is set.

What if you don't have 25 ’likes’? Ask your friends, co-workers, and family to click that like button. :)

Beg, buy them dinner, whatever you have to do.
