Synopsis With approximately 277 deaths from stabbings in England & Wales alone (the highest recorded figure for 30 years), representing an average death toll as a direct result of stabbings of over 5 for every week of the year, knife culture has become a social norm. A crime and gangster film presenting the current and possible destiny for Britain, explores not only a families nightmare, but entire boroughs anger when a teenager is brutally murdered through no fault of his own, but dies doing what he loves most. The film aims to explore one teenage boys (Jerome) passion for music and underground sounds, alongside his ‘gang’ members who enjoy doing graffiti and art, all regularly producing grime and R&B sounds, entering Mc battles, all in the heart of Hackney. The film aims to play on not only stereotypes and ‘21 st Century Britain but also social and status deprivation, evident in the character who leads the opposing gang (Vince) who results to the subculture of crime and deviance; knife and gun culture in order to gain some sort of status or respect. Vince being from a ‘deprived’ background, in inner-city areas, with a low income, mainly referring to anti-social behaviour and criminal acts of young people; delinquent gangs, has no family and lives alone, he also has problems with aggression and is continually being thrown out of college. Set in various estates, train stations and garages in hackney, the true story begins when the leader of a rival gang, looses a Mc clash against Jerome, seeing Jerome’s success in life both academically and his musical ability triggers Vince’s jealousy and in turn these ruthless hoodlums who operate outside the law, lead to the violent stabbing of Jerome at his very last underground gig. Jerome’s musical ability was widely admired and meant his death left his mother, fellow gang members and community in complete devastation resulting in peace talks and protest for justice. Meanwhile Vince remains on the run from the police continuing to follow the deviant route abandoning any goal of success, but is later captured by police sending letters to his girlfriend threatening her that if she told he would do the same to her. Target Audience and Research

The film will appeal to both boys and girls, but its fan base will have a diverse age group. However I awarded it a 15 rating due to its explicit content of mild sex scenes and violence, if I could my intended audience would be 12+ to promote and highlight further possible effects gang culture and crime can have.
