Our mission is to develop the College as a catalyst of change and growth to

prepare students to think critically and act responsibly in a rapidly changing

global environment. We, at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College, have a

highly qualified, dedicated and committed faculty who are ever ready to guide

you,

sharpen your skills and develop your all round personality. The College library

has over 49,000 books in different disciplines to provide you with

intellectually stimulating resource material and a very conducive and calm

environment to enhance your learning abilities. This is supplemented by a state

of the art Computer Lab equipped with all the modern-day learning tools. The

College Library is being converted into fully automated Knowledge and

Learning Resource Center.

The College has a Placement Cell that guides students from various

disciplines to find suitable placements. The Cell is managed by the students

under the guidance of a senior faculty member to find jobs suitable to the

talent and aptitude of the aspirants. To date, we have had successful

placement of our students with some leading companies in the NCR.

Established in March, 1973, SBSC(E) is one of the

constituent College of the University of Delhi. It was

made a co-educational institution in the year 1996-

97. The college is committed to the philosophy and

ideology of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and strives hard to

uphold these values amongst students. It has a

dynamic faculty which encourages intellectual rigor

and challenges the students to give their best. It is a

prestigious institution of learning, growth and

academic excellence, nurturing young talent in every

walk of life.

The college has a computerized library, which

contains a huge collection of books from all over the

world. The College has multiple computer labs,

geography lab, Mathematics lab.

The vision of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College is

ingrained in its Logo ‘Rashtra Devo Bhava’. The logo

exemplifies the values cherished by the great son of India

Shaheed-e-Aazam Bhagat Singh i.e., service to the nation

comes first. It envisions as an educational institution

offering state-of-the-art environment for the development

of excellence in academics, cultural, sports and other

student empowering activities


The college has arrangements for various sports and

games like Cricket, Hockey, Football, Volleyball,

Basketball, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Badminton, Kho -

Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College is well renowned

in providing quality learning and education to various

students. It boasts a high ranking in Commerce with

EXTRACURRICULAR

ACTIVITIES

SANGHARSH – THE DRAMATIC SOCIETTYThe stage play, 'The Pillowman' was performed in 15 times and got prizes in 4

of them which includes Sahitya Kala Parishad's. Also 'The Best Actor' was

awarded to 'Abhinav Jha' at many events.'The Pillowman' was also selected

by Ateliers Theatre Group.The annual street play production 'Haan, Hum

Padhe Likhe Hain' was performed 25 Times, including 5 public performances

it got prizes in 5 of them. It got Consolation prize at Sahitya Kala Parishad.

Actress Shweta Yadav got best actress award for her outstanding performance.

It also got selected Actliers'Act 10.

CREADOR– THEFINEARTSSOCIETYCreador, the fine arts society has grabbed many prizes and accolades. With fine

artists, annual exhibition 'Art-e-Vous', beautiful art and craftworks, visits to art

galleries and museums all giving a vent to imagination of students and bringing

out their latent skills. Performed commendably well in inter college

competitions. Many dedicated members grabbed various prizes at IIT kanpur, Sri

aurobindo, shivaji, Gargi college and many more.

INNOVERZ – THE DANCE SOCIETYThe Dance society of our college popularly known as INNOVERZ has

brought many laurels to the college. Our students have participated and

grabbed 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes in different dance formats in different

collegaes/institutions across the nation.

MALHAAR – THE MUSIC SOCIETY“Malhaar” Music Society had an eventful year of activities. Its members

participated in various inter college competitions and received appreciation for

their performances. These students enthralled the audience with their

performances at the college annual fest Saptrang 2017.


NUKE – THE DEBATING SOCIETYThe debating society of 30 members brought laurels to the college by

winning almost prizes during the session in various debates, parliamentary

and conventional being the major forms. This saga of prizes is not only

limited to the Delhi University circuit but to the entire nation. The hard work,

dedication and determination of the members have surely created a brand

image of the society.

REFLECTION – THE PHOTOGRAPHY SOCIETYFounded 3 years back, Reflection is now a team of 42 members. Weekly

meetings, Photowalks, across colleges transcends there knowledge with

camera. Annual Photography Exhibition "Photons" saw participation of 70

students from 20 colleges of DU.

ENACTUS

Enactus is an international non profit organization dedicated to inspiring

students to improve the world through entrepreneurial action. It is a

community of students who take entrepreneurial action, it is a community of

students, academics and business leaders that believes in investing in

students who take entrepreneurial action for others creates a better world for

us all.

STUDENT ENTREPRENEURSHIPCELLEntrepreneurship is the wings that a country requires to soar higher.” Student

Entrepreneurship Cell, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College, University of

Delhi is a student’s organisation dedicated to promote the spirit of

entrepreneurship among students. It is a student body which has taken up

various initiatives to promote new ventures by students of our college. We believe

in providing a platform to guide these creative minds and support them to

convert their aspiring dreams through effective interaction between the student

body and the corporate world. .


NSS–NATIONALSERVICE SCHEME COMMITTEE

NSS Unit is comprised of a strong and dedicated workforce of 7 leaders and about

300 volunteers behind success of all these events throughout this academic year:

NCC – NATIONAL CADETCORPSOne of the best known NCC group of Delhi University, our college NCC has a

unit of 160 cadets from morning as well as from evening college. NCC cadets

undergo training, organized by the 4 Delhi BN. Cadets participate in activities

organized by 4 Delhi BN through various camps viz. CATC, Republic Day

campsetc.

VARICO – THE COMMERCEASSOCIATION

The CommerceAssociation - VARICOwas formed in 2011. The association

organizes and hosts a plethora of events throughout the academic year like

Seminars, Guest lectures and workshops to inculcate the qualities of

leadership, cooperation and inter-personal skills. The Fresher's Welcome

party and Unnati- The Annual Commerce Festival are few amongst the

many events that are organized. The association initially held Intra-college

events but with time and progress, Inter-college events are organized. With

as many as 14 sub-events are organized in Unnati and a footfall of 500

students from in and outside Delhi University is witnessed.

CARPE DIEM– THEENGLISH SOCIETYCarpe Diem is the English literary society of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening

College. It was started in 2007 with the aim of improving dexterity of language

and literature in students, and to fulfill this objective, the society has organized

several events and workshops, like Ecstasy and Exuberance, which garnered a lot

of attention among students from various colleges of University of Delhi. The

society has been instrumental in building a community of creative, imaginative

and thoughtful human beings.


WHY RECRUITFROM

SBSEC

SBSC(E), one of the constituent college of

University of Delhi, strives to promote quality in

education and to adopt and follow participatory

management policies that promote leadership and

teamwork. The students enrolled in our college,

belonging to 5 different courses are meticulous, hard

working and talented. The cut-offs for this academic

year's induction of the students was as high as 97%

for B.Com (H) , 95% for B.Com (P), 92% for B.A (H)

and 90% for B.A(P).

Our Placement cell over the years has successfully been

able to provide quality employment opportunities for our

students and in providing assistance and counseling in

choosing a suitable career. We are extremely proud of our

relationship that has been nurtured with the companies

visiting our college premises for the recruitment process

and look forward to continue forging new bonds.


THE PLACEMENTCELL

SBSEC

The Placement Cell SBSEC was founded in the year 2014-15 with the goal to provide employment & internship

opportunities to the students of the college in some of the reputed organizations. It acts as an interface between

the industry and the students to enable them to select their career path. Students are provided assistance and

counseling for choosing a suitable career.

The key objective of The Placement Cell SBSEC is to create awareness among students regarding the available

career options and help them in identifying their career objectives. We also work in order to guide the students

in developing skills and job-search strategies required to achieve their career objectives.

The college has seen a rise in the number of students placed through on-campus recruitment drives and is

becoming the destination choice for recruiters steadily. Our constant, continuous endeavors are dedicated

towards building and sustaining connections with firms, getting on board new potential recruiters and on

increasing the reputation of our college in the local job market and creating our institution's brand value. The

Placement Cell is guided with the constant support of their Convenor & Co-Convenor along with the Chief

Coordinator of the cell.

THEANNUALINTERNSHIP

FAIR

Placement cell in the academic year 2018-19 successfully organized its second edition of internshipfair..

The fair saw participation of students from different universities like Delhi University, Indraprastha University

and Amity who got the opportunity to intern with 35+ different organizations.


EVENTS ORGANIZEDBY


THE CELL

The events and Workshops organized are as follows:

1. Orientation Session for the Batch of 2021: The Orientation session was conducted by the Placement

Coordinators. Placement guidelines, processes and policies were thoroughly discussed along with the Brochure

and Report of the previous academic year.

2. CV Building Workshop and Doubt Solving Session by CV Owl: This workshop was conducted by the

officials of the well-known organization, “CV Owl” who focused on the basics of Resume formation and

imparted useful insights about the common mistakes students commit while making their Resumes..

3. Experienced Talks Season 2: Experience Talks is a unique idea of series of videos that unveils stories and

experiences of the students from the college who were successful in obtaining placements. Started in the

session 2019-20, this not only provided useful insights but also helped to increase inter-personal skills among

the students. This series is available at the official Instagram handle of The Placement Cell, SBSEC. The

series has generated 5000+ views.

4. Achievers Speak – Interact with Achievers: Achievers Speak is one of the flagship initiatives by The

Placement Cell SBSEC to invite students from our college or other colleges from Delhi University to come

and share their experience of cracking some of the highly competitive entrance Exams. We invited more than

5 speakers who enlightened the students with their journeys in CAT, CA, ACCA, etc.

5. Training Session for Final Year Students by PrepJunction: To prepare students for the extremely

competitive Job interviews and exams, The Placement Cell conducted a Training Session by IIM Alumnus

PrepJunction, which not only trained the students but also conducted a Mock Exam and provided with

detailed analysis of the results.

6. Collaboration with Google Kormo Jobs: The Placement Cell SBSEC takes in great pride to collaborate with

Google and Josh Talks to register the institute with the Google powered initiative “Kormo Jobs”, in which the

students of the college can search for job and internship opportunities.

7. Workshop Conducted by Admit PRO on Education Abroad: Professors from the recognized institute

Admit PRO participated with The Placement Cell SBSEC to impart the positives and negatives about

pursuing further education abroad. All the doubts of the students related to expenses, application processes,

living, standards of life, ROI were thoroughly solved. The students gave a positive feedback about the

workshop.

8. Webinar – “How to crack internships amidst the Pandemic?”: The Placement Cell SBSEC in collaboration

with Younity.in conducted an online webinar on the topic – “How to crack Internships amidst the Pandemic?”

The Session had more than 100 students and was taken successfully by the CEO of Younity.in, Mr. Prafful

Garg.

9. CV Vetting Drive: The Placement Cell SBSEC conducted its CV Vetting Drive for the first time to formalize

processes for the Campus Placements. More than 250 students participated in the online Exam and CV vetting

drive conducted by the Cell.

10. Webinar on CV Making & Linkedin Profile Building: The Placement Cell SBSEC conducted a Webinar conducted

by the renowned organization Resumod in the month of February 2021 in which more than 150 students participated.

This webinar was organized especially for the freshers so that they can be more confident while applying for internships.

11. Formation of Dedicated Groups for Internships: The Placement Cell SBSEC took the charge of internships at a

greater level this year and shifted all the process online to get the students of first year registered for the Internship

Updates Group.

12. TALERANG – Webinar (Case Study): This webinar was held via the online platform in association with the

organization “Talerang”. The main motive of this webinar was to make students aware about CV Formations, tipsand

tricks that could be incorporated to increase the effectiveness of the CV. The webinar also covered frequently asked

questions in Job-Interviews.
