Deciduous ForestWhere we live!4 Seasons- Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer Mild Summers and Winters: Summer months usually
begin in early June and end in late August. Winter months don't begin until December.
Moderate Rainfall: average 30 to 60 inches a year.
Almost all of the world's deciduous forest is located by an ocean. The ocean and the wind play a role in the temperature and climate change of changing seasons.
Deciduous Forest
Deciduous forests contain trees that have leaves that change colors seasonally and fall off during cold seasons
Carotenoids- pigment produced in the chloroplast during the fall seasons. Gives leaves the red, yellow, and orange colors.
Plants include: Maples, Oaks, HickoryBroad leaves allow more sunlight to be captured for photosynthesis
