An effective atmosphere in a hospital is critical to its functionality. Going with a transitional design, tropical owers in nature inspired the color concept for this hospital design. The tropical ower was used because typically when you think of them you think of exotic places that are calming. With this color inspiration the colors were toned down and muted to properly t into the hospital atmosphere. While blues and greens are very calming colors, bright reds and yellows are not. Because of this, we decided to stick with blues, violets, greens, beige, and pale oranges. Daylighting was also a factor we kept in mind while designing this hospital. It is a proven fact that the more natural sunlight a kept in mind while designing this hospital. It is a proven fact that the more natural sunlight a person gets the faster they heal, and more productivity occurs among employees. This was a very important factor when designing the space planning for the Logansport Memorial Hospital.

THIS SILO DESIGN OFFICE WAS BASED AROUND THE ORGANIC ASPECTS OF NATURE. LOOKING AT THE OUTSIDE THE OVERHANG OF THE ROOF WAS MADE TO LOOK LIKE A LEAF COMING OFF OF A FLOWER. AS YOU WALK INTO THE BUILDING YOU WILL BE GREATED BY LOTS OF NATURAL COLORS. IF YOU LOOK UP YOU WILL SEE AN OPENING IN THE CEILING, RESEMBLING ORGANIC PLANT LIFE. THE CEILING, RESEMBLING ORGANIC PLANT LIFE. THROUGHOUT THIS WHOLE DESIGN OFFICE YOU WILL FIND MANY OF THE SAME ORGANIC SHAPES THAT YOU WOULD FIND IN NATURE. OVERALL IT GIVES THE SPACE A VERY CALM AND SOOTHING FEEL
