  • *Dora Maar was 27 when she met Picasso in Paris first. At that time he was a successful painter, famous and wealthy 55-year-old . She was a photographer from Argentina, of Jewish origin. The original name was Theodora Markovic. In the early years he asked her to take the pictures. Dora Maar was an educated woman, elegant, cool, serious and sophisticated. Picasso was fascinated by her, painted her portrait in dozens of pictures. At first, her pictures were realistic and reasonable, and later he painted her in a distorted, disjointed faced monstrosity. These pictures are called weeping woman. After 7 years, she underwent a nervous breakdown. She died in 1997 at age 88.The pictures are sold at astronomical world: forty million dollars a picture!
