“Duo Nuances” is an experienced

piano-accordion duet created in 2005.

Inspired from a young age by the illustrious

duo of Marcel Azzola and Lina Bossatti,

Clémence et Jérémie perform their own

transcriptions of composers such as Vivaldi,

Satie, Bach, Brahms and Piazzolla, with great

mastery of their instruments and in perfect

harmony.

These two virtuosos have a bold and eclectic repertoire (classical, Argentine tango,

Russian folklore…) with a refined dialogue between the piano and the accordion, winning over

the audience from the very first chords..

They have performed at numerous concerts and festivals in France (Pavillon Baltard and

Salle du Trianon in Paris, Congress Center in Megève…) and abroad: USA, Quebec, Czech

Republic, Croatia, Norway, Spain...)

Clémence Buirette

Born in Nîmes, Clémence developed a passion for music very early on. She enrolled in the conservatory at age 6, taking piano lessons from Catherine Silie (a student of Yves Nat), and began cello lessons at age 8 with Christine Radais.

Clémence won the solo piano Grand Prix of the town of Nîmes in 2001 and graduated with a degree in cello musical studies in 2003. She then attended the Boulogne-Billancourt Conservatory under Raphaël Rochet, where her passion for accompaniment developed, before enrolling in the Lyon Conservatory under Marie-Cécile Milan. Clémence has also studied with great concert musicians and professors such as Olivier Gardon, Jacques Rouvier, Xavier Gagnepain and Jacques Deregnancourt.

Clémence mostly performs alongside her husband in their group as a convincing and imposing force, playing in a poetic, swift and nuanced manner. With a sensitive touch and a superb tonal palette, her lyricism supports her great skill that is revered in many countries.

She is also the choirmaster of a polyphonic ensemble with 70 members, a men’s choir, as well as Vox Canora, a small choir that performs in competitions and festivals (Draguignan, Verona, Prague…)

Jérémie Buirette

Born in Ris-Orangis, near Paris, on 27 Décembre 1981, Jérémie Buirette’s passion for the accordion began at age 5.

At this young age, the instrument was a true revelation. His unwavering commitment for the accordion would lead him to joyously explore different styles, and above all to train and perfect his craft under famous accordion players. He studied at the Aix-en-Provence Conservatory under Jean-Marc Marroni and at the Dijon Conservatory under Olivier Urbano. He was then accepted to the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP) the following year under Max Bonnay. Finally, Jérémie worked with Frédéric Deschamps who helped him prepare for international competitions.

Very quickly, Jérémie Buirette proved himself a skilled accordionist, becoming one with his instrument and transporting his audience with his interlacing melodies. His accordion became a tool for blending all types of music, defying the separation of genres. Jérémie excels equally in styles from classical to jazz, from musette to Argentine tango.

Filled with artistic ambition, with a strong and brilliantly performed repertoire and complementing his melodies with personalized, subtle halftones, Jérémie has won numerous awards: First Prize at the 2002 European Championships in Gand in Belgium, 2008 World Champion in Washington, USA and First Prize at the 2009 Vivian Vivio Stolaruk Competition, also in the USA.

Member of the Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Music (SACEM) since 2011, Jérémie has also been a guest on numerous television shows.

“At the Coupe Mondiale 2007 in Washington D.C., I got my first opportunity to meet and hear the very

talented accordionist, Jérémie Buirette. One could not be but impressed by his stage presence, energy,

musicianship and virtuosity. It’s quite obvious that the judges were also impressed because he won first prize.”

Dominic Karcic.

“We were privileged to see and hear live one of the most exciting accordionists of our time. It is difficult

to find the words to describe the impression the young French accordionist Jérémie Buirette, World Champion,

in duet with his wife, pianist Clémence, left here in the Boston area.” Emilian Badea, Doctor of Musical Arts.
