Firelands Regional Health System is the region’s largest resource for advanced healthcare services as well as being known for providing high-quality care for daily and routine health care needs.

Serving various counties throughout the region, Firelands provides many advanced care services including comprehensive cancer care, full-time interventional cardiac care and open heart surgery, wound care services including hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), acute inpatient rehabilitation, as well as many advanced surgical procedures.

The health system includes a 405-bed medical center, which is the largest in the region, with medical staff of over 250 and employs more than 2,500 full and part-time employees. The full-service medical center provides a comprehensive array of acute services, specialties, and subspecialties. Firelands admits nearly 10,000 patients annually and has over 264,000 outpatient visits and more than 61,000 emergency room and urgent care visits per year.

Firelands Regional Health System has several locations serving Erie, Huron, Lorain, Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca and Wyandot counties. The health system includes the main hospital facility, south campus facility, University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center, multiple locations for behavioral health and home health services, dialysis centers and Corporate Health.

Firelands is also a teaching facility for medical education, offering programs for family practice, internal medicine, hospice and palliative care. Firelands also plays host to the school of nursing and pharmacy residency programs.
