The battery is enclosed in a water resistant covering for a streamlined look and to protect the internal components from the weather. This combined with the solar panel having a compact and sleek design with the ability to tilt the panel to face the sun, means you can place the solar panel discreetly anywhere near the awning.

Optional power cable extensions are also available to extend the Solar Receiver’s distance from the awning to improve the changing position relative to the sun.

The motor can be operated via a Remote control or wireless wall switch, with built in RF using Platinum Technology. The awning can also be connected to home automation systems with a Dry contact port integrated into the Solar Receiver unit.

Introducing the Photon One. A Solar Powered Straight Drop Awning motor, for ALPHA Awnings and System 2000 Pivot Arm and Straight Drop Awnings combining cutting edge patented power management electronics with an integrated battery receiver unit. A simple and energy efficient motorisation solution for a straight drop awning.

The Photon One solar motor awning provides Australian home owners with a cost effective motorised solution to utilise the shading benefits of awnings in areas around the home where there is minimal access for hardwired cabling. As the Photon One uses the power of the sun to recharge the built in 24v DC battery pack, it does not need wired electricity to operate it. This reduces installation costs as an electrician is not required to install the motor. As little as 2-3 hours of direct sunlight is required to charge the battery for enough power for several day’s operation and a ‘charging current checking button’ on the side of the unit can be pushed to see if the unit is currently charging.

The motor has a Fabric Tensioning feature for lockdown awnings. This means the motor has the ability to tension the fabric when the awning is in the locked position and slightly back-off to protect over tensioning the fabric.
