PHOTO & DRAWING FOR KIDS CONTEST: ART NOUVEAU STAIRCASES
On June 10th 2019, the Réseau Art Nouveau Network will celebrate the World Art Nouveau Art Day and
you are all warmly invited to take part to this international event, open to all!
This seventh time will be dedicated to the theme the Art Nouveau Staircases. Absolute backbones of
the building, these spaces of circulation, sometimes intended to diffuse natural light in the interiors, did
not escape the creative impetus of Art Nouveau. From the start of a staircase to the banister, the Art
Nouveau patterns and movements spread out in various forms in order to adapt to its users, owners
and housekeepers. The 2019 edition of the World Art Nouveau Day will highlight these spaces, that are
sometimes majestic and imposing, sometimes discreet and narrow but always essential
Introduce us the most outstanding staircases, according to you, of the Art Nouveau movement by
participating in our photo and drawing contest!
Send us your most beautiful photographs showing your favourite Art Nouveau architect’s works before
the 5th of June 2019 at midnight, with your completed entry form available on our website and send

In Ljubljana, they are in 2019 celebrating numerous occasions, besides World Art Nouveau Day and 20 years of RANN (Ljubljana is part of the network since its very beginning!) also consortium called Art Nouveau Ljubljana was launched. AN Ljubljana is led by Municipality of Ljubljana and consists of many institutions, City Museum of Ljubljana - MGML, National Museum of Slovenia - NMS, National Gallery of Slovenia - NGS, Museum of Architecture and Design- MAO, Department of Art History, Faculty of Arts, Ljubljana - FF UL, Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia - UIRS and Institute for he Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia OE Ljubljana - ZVKDS). All of those reasons formed our aim for 2019: to organize something together and present what have been done in the last 20 years while researching, collecting, exhibiting and renovating Art Nouveau heritage. Exhibition “Art Nouveau as an Inspiration”, from 10 June to 1 July Museum of Jovan Cvijić It’s presenting the works of students of Interior Design at the College of Vocational Studies – Belgrade Polytechnic. The subject of their work will be to design the hall of Kalaba’s House in Banatski Despotovoac. Students will have to use Belgrade Art Nouveau architecture and Art Nouveau architecture in general for inspiration. The three best works will be rewarded, and the design that won first prize will be realized at Kalaba’s House. During the exhibition (which will last for 3 weeks) 3 lectures and 3 city walks will be organised for the public. The film was realised within the project Art Nouveau – Sustainable protection and promotion of Art Nouveau heritage in the Danube region
