A reminder that there are limited places available and the deposit is due NOW. BOOKCLUB orders and payments are due by Thursday, 16th May, 2019. A reminder that orders and pay-ments must be made through Scholastic Australia. Please do not send orders or money to the school. ICAS RETURNS IN TERM 3, 2019 Ashtonfield Public School is proud to partner with UNSW Global to offer its annual ICAS Assessments. We’re delighted to inform you that we will be participating in ICAS again this year, to recognise and reward students’ academic achievement. The assessment is now fully online and sitting dates will commence in Term 3. Learn more by visiting unsw.global/icas. BOYS PSSA SOCCER REPORT On Friday May 10, Ashtonfield played its first two rounds of the NSW PSSA Soccer Knockout competition. We were successful in both games. Scores were 8-0 against Met-ford and 16-0 against Largs. We had a number of star players but all players contributed to the victories. The team bonded well and displayed a high standard of sportsmanship and general behaviour. It was a great day to be a part of, with not only great performances on the field, but also a great atmosphere off the field with many parents in attendance. Many thanks also to Gabrielle’s mum for volunteering to wash the team’s uniforms.

Library News
Students require a library bag to borrow books from the library and all our students have been issued with a library bag, on their commencement at our school. If these bags become worn or lost, new bags can be purchased from the Library, at a cost of $5.00. Remembering to bring their bag each week is part of being responsible. Looking after books is showing respect for shared property. It is appreciated if you can assist your child in this area of their learning. “Read More in May” Reading Challenge The “Read More in May” Reading Challenge is underway and we hope that lots of students are taking part. All that is required is to read for at least 10 minutes every day throughout May. Students participating have the chance to win $100 worth of vouchers for Book Club. Have fun reading together and good luck in the prize draw! Book Club Reminder that Book Club catalogues for Issue 3 have been sent home recently and any orders are due in online this Thursday 16
th May. There are a number of new titles in this brochure that may
interest. Thankyou for your support as this enables new books to be added to our library. This week’s word of the week is : hello
