Roman Topic thing so they couldn't be used
again. For homework before the
topic children were asked to make
their own roman shields. It was
hard but lots of fun!
Year 5 and 6 have recently
started a new topic about

came in to talk about the
formations the army made to
protect themselves and told us
some facts like the javelins they
threw were known to break when
they hit enemies. That was a good
Jigsaws
As an addition to the new year at Padiham Green, a jigsaw has been added to the ks2 area. There are unique pieces for every class to earn. So far year 4 and 6 have earned a piece each for set-tling in well and thier team work at Tower Wood. You can earn pieces for being responsi-ble, reading regularly at home, showing good behaviour and working as a team. By the end of this half-term hopefully every class will have a piece!

you dared to be an individual you
were brainwashed.
They sang lots of music like will we
rock you, radio gaga and we are the
champions which are famous songs
by Queen. Everyone sang along and
really enjoyed themselves.
Especially Mr Dixon.
It was lovely to see some of our old
pupils from Padiham Green at break
time and we all got drinks and
biscuits.
Good luck to all the children at
Padiham Green this half term
competing to get the best attendance.
With prizes like this we will all want
to be in school everyday and on
time.

This term Year 2 have been
learning all about keeping clean.
They had a visit from the school
nurse who talked to them about
washing their hands and taught
them how to brush their teeth
properly!
Did you know you must brush your
teeth for 2 whole minutes!? You
must not use mouthwash if you are
a child and change your brush
regularly.
Donna the nurse brought a UV light
into school which showed up bits
of lotion the children hadn't washed
off properly. It was very
interesting!

This year has started with the
same style as last year when it
comes to being creative!
Over half term a few classes
were asked to make some
models at home with the help
of their families.
Year 1& 2 made some fabulous
rockets and year 5&6 made
Roman shields!
Everyone put in such a great
effort at home so well done.
Sports and Achievements
Knock Knock, Who’s there? Boo, Boo Hoo? Hey, there’s no need to cry! What do you get if you cross a sheep and a kangaroo? A woolly jumper.
What’s green and red and goes round and round and round? A frog in a blender.
For the start of this new
academic year, we have
already started going with
the Sports and
Achievements sector.
Recently, we’ve had a Tag
Rugby tournament and we
won... a VERY small cup. Also
the Athletics Club has started
and we have some good
news...from a source, everyone
is doing great! Hopefully the
sports
continues as
the term
rolls out.
Big thanks to Mr Gardiner
who has started up his sports
and reading club. People who
don’t always love to read are
really getting into a sports
themes reading programme
which is great fun!
Charlie Walker has won
the bleep test record this
week in an astonishing
45.2.
This is a great record

trying to beat!
