Entry Requirements

Graduates or 2 / 3 Year Diploma holders in

any stream. Applications by mature students

with professional work experience or a keen

interest in fashion, luxury or retail will also be

considered.

Who is the Course for?

The course is aimed at individuals wanting to

develop entrepreneurial careers or for those

wishing to work in the vast non-design within

the fashion industry. Students can take a

specialization at the end of the year and

focus on one or two of the modules in the

final term based on their future professional

aims.

Course Introduction

The aim of the course is to allow

professionals from varying undergraduate

backgrounds to pursue a successful career

in the rising fashion, luxury & the retail

sectors.

This Post Graduate Programme has a higher

emphasis on professional practice within a

global context where individuals experience

an industry focused curriculum with live

projects with some the leading fashion &

luxury brands in the country.

Students are encouraged to work towards

industry focused projects with a strong

emphasis on research and interdisciplinary

experimentation. At the end of the year

students are given an internship to facilitate

progression into professional careers in their

area of interest.

Students also explore entrpreneurial

opportunities at the end of the course with

mentoring and support from academics at

FAD International.

Course Curriculum & Modules

The course during the first term gives

students a holistic base in fashion, retail and

luxury sectors thus enabling students from

varied backgrounds to be able to further

choose a specialization in the second term.

Students get an opportunity to work on live

projects as part of the modules whilst

beinmentored and taught by industry

p ro fess iona ls .Students work bo th

individually and in groups with professionals

f rom other depar tments such as

photography, media, art, styling, fashion

design etc.

Combined with guest faculties from the

industry and international universities,

students are exposed to a variety of critiques

and audiences across the industry. The

Europe Study Tour further gives students a

unique opportunity to interact with

international designers, brands and

academicians and visit the fashion weeks,

thus giving them a platform to progress onto

the professional world. In the first term

students are taught the fundamental building

blocks required for choosing a study

pathway and in the second term where

students specialize in one of the following

streams.

Fashion Marketing

The specialisation focuses on the core

aspects of fashion marketing and covers

topics within a fashion context such as

strategic marketing, marketing c o m m u n i c

a t i o n s , b r a n d i n g , m a r k e t I n g

communications, events & PR, marketing

planning & other modules which allow

students to realize professional level

marketing plans both at a strategic and

operational levels whilst working on a project

driven curricula.

Fashion Retail

The specialisation covers all aspects of

fashion &luxury retail and deals with

learningon various challenges of retail

distribution in a detailed way, from the

fashion buying, interpreting the market

trends for clients and defining the purchase

plan of collections, monitoring and leading

the performance of the stores, visual

merchandising, point of sale dynamics to

range of other issues relating to fashion

retail. The module pans through fashion

retail management, retail merchandising

and all other aspects of the

sector with live industry projects and

internships. The learning is achieved within a

global context to prepare individuals for the

fast growing and exciting careers at various

levels with the fashion and luxury retail

sectors.

Fashion Communication

communicating fashion through all media

formats such as journalism (print, electronic

or new media), events and promotions,

public relations, advertising, visual

m e r c h a n d i s i n g a n d s t y l i n g . T h e

specialization is well supported through

group projects with the media, art and the

creative business departments at FAD

International where students work on

industry driven projects commissioned by

the media, fashion & luxury brands or self

international universities, students are

The specialisation covers all aspects of this

industry starting from introduction to key

concepts and brands, marketing & retail for

luxury goods, branding & communication to

Students often work on live industry projects

commissioned by global brands, thus

forming case studies and industry

experience to entre into the growing sector

both in India and globally.

assignments and projects on a continuous

assessment basis through the year.

fashion capitals such as Paris, London &

Milan for fashion events and guest lectures
