PETER PANLUC PETIT’S BIOGRAPHY

LUC PETIT CREATION

Luc PETIT is a designer, artistic director and creator of shows, events and exhibition and museum spaces.

His training as a film-maker initially led to his involvement in audiovisual productions. Jean-Michel JARRE entrusted him with the creation of his mega-concert at La Défense in Paris and with Jean ROCHEFORT, he participated in the filming of 150 video clips on the history of the cinema. The “Mondial de la Pub” advertising competition awarded him first prize for his work with Gérard DEPARDIEU.

For the past ten years or so, Franco DRAGONE, recognised for his creative work for the CIRQUE DU SOLEIL and Céline DION’s show in Las Vegas, among other things, has called upon Luc PETIT’s talent to design his shows. As a result, Luc PETIT was responsible for staging the DISNEY CINEMA PARADE in Paris, the opening ceremony of EUROFOOT 2000 in Brussels, the equestrian show ZARABANDA for Jumping de Bruxelles, the inauguration of the CROWN MACAU HOTEL in China, BELGACOM’s Christmas Party at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, the FORTISSIM’O evening event at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna and the OPERA URBANA CELESTIAL in Bilbao. For an Indian wedding in Venice, he designed three shows with fabulous sets, featuring guest stars Shakira and the Gotan Project.

On a personal level, he has worked on projects for Toyota, Siemens, Ernst & Young, Mobistar, Orange, Thalys and BESIX. NESPRESSO entrusted him with the launch of its coffee machines and the presentation of its new factory. The MCI Group also approached him for an extraordinary celebration of AMWAY China’s 15th anniversary. In collaboration with K-EVENTS, a company known for the creation of large ceremonies including the Turin Olympic Games, he conceived a corporate show in the Ukraine for METINVEST on a floating stage.Escape Events entrusted Luc Petit to create a show on an indoor swimming pool for the 15th anniversary of the telecommunication company TELENET. In 2012, MUSIC HALL GROUP asked Luc Petit and his team to create a EUROPEAN TOURING SHOW FOR ARENAS based on the never ending story of Peter Pan. The tour will start in Belgium in December 2012. MCI produced, for the second time, a huge show for AMWAY CHINA in Munich. Luc Petit decided to create a show which integrates grand illusion, video mapping, water fountains and live performances as horses, dancers, sword fighters, opera singers,...

For Luc PETIT, every place is a source of inspiration and his know-how allows him to adapt any type of place, from the most traditional to the most unusual: whether it’s a theatre, a concert hall, a hangar, a tent, a museum or a church, they can all be transformed into a stage for a moment in time.A street, a square, a stretch of water, a stadium or even a castle are all challenges he is happy to accept when it comes to gathering together a crowd for a magical evening. Bringing horses into a cathedral pose no problem for him either.

His imagination has given rise to urban operas such as DECROCHER LA LUNE in La Louvière, as well as parades including the GRAND CHARIVARI in Montreal within the framework of the JUST FOR LAUGHS FESTIVAL, in collaboration with Danielle Roy.They also co-designed the GRAND BAISER in Montreal, the opening event on the Place des Festivals, and were both responsible for the artistic direction of VICTOR’S FOLLIES, the street theatre part of the JUST FOR LAUGHS FESTIVAL. They received the best show prize for PINK CENDRILLON and LE GRAND BISOU.He also staged the grand finale of PINKARNAVAL, a major event dedicated to JEAN-PAUL GAULTIER, with the exceptional participation of the latter.

Continuing in the world of fashion, he has organised fashion shows for the company NATAN and the Belgian label MAIS IL EST OU LE SOLEIL. He also designed the exhibition space for the BD CEDRIC (published by DUPUIS) exhibition and for the new WATERLOO MEMORIAL, where visitors can relive the battle through films shot entirely in 3D.

A true magician of the performing arts, Luc PETIT combines all the disciplines of the circus, the fair, dance, mime and acrobatics for unique shows where dreams and performances know no boundaries other than one’s own imagination.Intuitive, inquisitive and passionate about technology, he uses the most innovative means in terms of video, 3D and 360° projections and water screens to create an astonishing atmosphere every time but

always at the service of his artistic and human approach.
