City of Nuremberg

● Several different running Map Services (ESRI ArcIMS, AutoDesk MapGuide, plus a selfmade solution)

● Use what data there is, integrate it using standards, do not convert data

● Implement a client interface for citizens of Nuremberg, tourists and non GIS specialists

● Use standardization where possible and appropriate to conciliate between the different parties involved

Now it is Online

● The architecture is fully WMS compatible (Interoperability successful)

● Software development AND project work (setting up data) has been paid for by the customer

● All components are Open Source reduced cost, high potential for further development)

● The software can and already has been adopted in several other installations (diffusion process started)

● Start the application here: http://online-service.nuernberg.de/stadtplandienst/
