Surgery of the perineal and urogenital regions can be tedious and sometimes smelly. Grow your confidence in handling these surgeries in general practice. Covering a number of techniques, you can be sure to improve your soft tissue surgery skills. Our specialist educators will be there to guide you patient side, while you get hours of hands on experience. This workshop is designed to get you operating on the rear end of your patients with more conviction.

Peter is a Brisbane local and completed his undergraduate veterinary degree at the University of Queensland in 2002. Peter moved to the UK in 2005 and in 2012, completed a surgical residency at the University of Bristol. During the residency he also completed the RCVS certificate in Small Animal Surgery and then passed the ECVS board certifying exams in 2013, qualifying as a European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Surgery. Peter submitted his PhD thesis and passed the oral examinations through the University of Bristol in 2019. The thesis explores the effects of mechanical loading on bone tissue and its relevance to osteoporosis in people. He is enjoying the spare time he is now afforded without this workload by enjoying time renovating his garden and spending time with his two young girls and lovely wife, and getting out camping in their new camper trailer.
Peter enjoys the challenges presented by all types of surgery but has a particular interest in urogenital surgery. Dr Delisser joined Veterinary Specialist Services in Brisbane in 2017 and has published scientific papers and presented scientific abstracts at conferences on a wide range of topics from fracture repair techniques to management of urinary incontinence in bitches through to basic scientific research papers on bone mechanobiology.
