At Integreon, our Associates take pride in making the communities that support us better places to live, work and thrive. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an element of our Integreon DNA, and something we strive to embody every day. I’m delighted to share the results of the creativity and caring our Associates demonstrated at each of our locations worldwide.

2014 was another exceptional year for our Corporate Social Responsibility efforts. We exceeded our donations, our Associates committed more volunteer hours and we received international recognition for our Project Edu-Lync, which enables students at the Rotary Sanskardham Academy for hearing and speech-impaired to connect to a world of resources. Our Associates will tell you stories of recipients who cried when they saw our teams arrive at their door and of students who had so much fun they hope to one day work at Integreon. Our time and contributions have made an impact on individuals around the world, the communities in which we are located and also within the spirit of our Associates.

EDUCATION

Pens of Hope in Davao London and Bristol

On Sunday, June 1, countries around the world observed International Children’s Day. In honor of this special event, Integreon celebrated with a week of activities.

One of these activities was a collection drive for Pens of Hope in Davao, an outreach program to address the scarcity of writing materials in the Philippines. Most of us take having pens, pencils and paper in our homes and schools for granted, but there are many schools in the world who struggle to fund such items and children have no choice but to learn without them.

In London, our Associates purchased 1,837 items of stationery for donation and, in Bristol, our Associates donated 400 items, including pens, pencils, coloring pens, erasers, pencil sharpeners, rulers, notepads, and coloring books. Our donations were given to the community in the Filipino province of Agusan del Norte.


EDUCATION

Project Vidya MumbaiThe SMILE Mumbai team arranged training sessions for eight Shelter of Love orphanage children. Shelter of Love Ashram, run by Shelter of Love Charitable Trust is a non-profit organization, committed to the empowerment and development of orphans and under-privileged children. They work with orphans who do not know their origin, children abused by their relatives and children deserted due to poverty and hardship. They provide a safe, loving environment to support the children’s growth until they have completed their education and/or vocational training and can provide for themselves as adults. In our Mumbai delivery center, Associates provided training in MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.


EDUCATION

Children’s Book Drive FargoAssociates held an offsite Children’s Book Drive that collected around 330 books from sites in Chicago and San Diego. We donated 276 books to the John T. Pirie Fine Arts and Academic Center in Illinois. They will be placed in the public school’s library for all students to share. Another 80 books went to a local school in San Diego for mentally-challenged students.

Back to School Drive Fargo

Children’s Hour Annual BenefitManila

As the school year approached, the Fargo SMILE team held their 5th Annual Back to School Drive. A team of three Associates put up bins that looked like school buses to collect donations. In all, Associates at our Fargo delivery center came up with three big boxes of items, one of which was donated to Fargo’s YWCA Cass Clay, while the other two were donated to CHARISM, to be used for rewards for their youth programs and classrooms.

YWCA Cass Clay is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. The YWCA’s strength is in the diversity of its membership and their ability to join together and work toward the goal of empowering women.

CHARISM is a neighborhood-based non-profit organization that provides outreach programs for low-income families in Fargo. It connects people to essential services such as supplemental food programs, after-school enrichment and support for youth, and enriches community spirit through neighborhood and holiday events.

Five Associates from our Manila delivery center attended the Children’s Hour Annual Benefit Lunch, which benefitted children affected by 2013’s Typhoon Haiyan. The lunch raised PHP 12,500.

Children’s Hour is a fundraising organization that asks donors to give at least one hour’s worth of their salary or annual earnings

for programs dedicated to making lasting improvements in the lives of disadvantaged Filipino children. Since 1999, Children’s Hour has raised more than PHP 300M in cash and services, which they put into 600 projects that directly benefitted 800,000 children nationwide.


HEALTHCARE

Blood Donation Manila

Volunteering for TNT Fargo

In partnership with our in-center medical clinic, Integreon Associates lined up to give blood. A standard donation of 400ml can help three or more patients, and 23 Associates gave a total of 9.2 liters. One of the donors had been a past recipient of blood donations when he was stabbed. Now, he donates blood every year as gratitude and the activity gave him another opportunity to give back.

Fargo Associates volunteered for TNT Kid’s Fitness and Gymnastics, helping the non-profit’s competitive gymnastics team host a regional championship meet. TNT is dedicated to providing all boys and girls, regardless of age, financial status, mental or physical ability, the opportunity to experience the benefits of gymnastics and fitness.

The meet helps TNT Kid’s Fitness and Gymnastics raise money to fund their programs throughout the year, and it requires many volunteers to help make it a success.


HEALTHCARE

Giving Hearts DayFargo

November is the month of MOvember and in our UK, US, India and Manila offices, Integreon men grew mustaches to support this men’s health charity, raising a significant amount of money for prostate and testicular cancer research, and men’s mental health.

Globally, more than 715,000 men participated in MOvember and raised USD 69 million. In part, this has enabled a new genetic test, which predicts the occurrence of prostate cancer for high-risk men, to go on the market, and also helped the launch of True NTH, which aims to improve the quality of life for male cancer patients. Since it first launched 11 years ago, the MOvember campaign has raised more than USD 600 million.

Our Fargo location raised funds for the 7th annual Giving Hearts Day, a regional one-day virtual fundraising event, where donors give via the website impactgiveback.org. Associate’s donations were matched by the Dakota Medical Foundation, which doubled the funds they raised for the American Heart Association, Hospice of the Red River Valley and Special Olympics North Dakota. In total, the event raised USD 5.7 million from 24,407 individual donations to 235 charities.


SOCIAL AWARENESS

Clothing Drive Beijing

Our Associates led a drive to donate clothes to poor and remote areas in China, collecting more than 51 kg of clothes, bags, shoes and quilts. Working with a local intermediary, the clothes were sent to the town of Ge Er Mu in Eastern China’s Quinghai Province.

Documents Work for Global Potential - FargoFargo Associates spent hours working on a project for Global Potential, a program to transform the lives of urban youths. Each year, it offers a program to train youths that have a high potential to become leaders, change-makers and social entrepreneurs in their urban and rural low-income communities around the world. We were asked to assist in cleaning up a fairly large presentation, written in French, to prepare it for publication.


SOCIAL AWARENESS

Adopt and Name a Penguin JohannesburgThe Johannesburg office celebrated Earth Day by adopting an African penguin, in cooperation with SANCCOB’s Adopt a Penguin program. SANCCOB, the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds, uses the program to encourage support for endangered African penguins.

With adoption papers – and an adorable photo – in hand, the SMILE South Africa team, in cooperation with the Global Steering Committee, launched a contest to name the penguin. The winning name was Integwen.

Soup Kitchen New York

The Soup Kitchen at Saint Luke’s is a vital ministry that provides a hot lunch to as many as 220 people from the streets of New York every Tuesday and Thursday. The Soup Kitchen is subsidized largely by the United Way, however, they also receive cash gifts and food items from their neighbors on Restaurant Row. As well as being staffed by Integreon volunteers, the Soup Kitchen has help from the local congregation, office workers seeking an “alternative” lunch break and out-of-town mission and youth groups.

Partnership with Ayala Foundation’s Career for Street Youth Program - Manila

Integreon Managed Solutions has partnered with Ayala Foundation Inc. to support Careers for Street Youth (CSY) Program. The CSY Program aims to bridge the skills gaps that disadvantaged youths experience by providing opportunities for stable mainstream employment through workplace skills readiness training and internship/on-the-job training, as well as life-coaching and mentoring backed by employment partners.

As an employment partner, Integreon participated in the screening of candidates who would eventually be part of a CSY Training Batch. Each batch went through a three-week job-readiness training program conducted by Ayala Foundation.

Integreon also offered a three-month internship opportunity to four CSY participants, committing to provide work experience, coaching and mentorship during their stay with the company. These interns were offered roles on 1) the Service Desk team, which is our internal customer service department, 2) the Procurement team, which is in charge of vendor relationships, 3) the Facilities team, which is in charge of addressing the needs and ensuring the safety of Associates within the office, and 4) Talent Management, specifically the team in charge of compensation and benefits of all Associates.

Adding to the work experience, Integreon also provided English Communications Training, which was conducted by our internal communications trainer. All four interns were also assigned a mentor who provided additional support in helping them better adjust in the workplace environment. At the end of their internship, the interns were given the assignment to present about their experience and their understanding

of both their role and their department. This encouraged the interns to coordinate with different people and to develop their communication, presentation and organizational skills as well as their logical and creative thinking and self confidence.

By the end of the three-month internship, one of the interns had already found full-time administrative work in a local bank while the rest of the interns were offered an extended internship.Integreon has continued to look for potential opportunities that can be offered to CSY participants, which resulted in us adding two more interns to the Finance department by end of the year.

SMILE GreenifyNoida

In celebration of World Environment Day, the SMILE Noida Team and the Green Team Noida collaborated to come up with a series of events and activities. Our Noida Associates formed teams and participated in an environment quiz. Seven teams joined the Trash Bash contest, which aimed to create useful items from common waste. Associates were encouraged to write about one green thing that they have implemented and a team from Greenpeace talked about issues concerning climate change and the environment at large.


SOCIAL AWARENESS

Fundraising for Haiyan Victims - Manila

Integreon Associates held an event, Integreon gives back, to raise funds for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. Cash was pledged over three months, deducted from Associates’ salaries during each pay period. During December and January the pledges amounted to PHP 53,828. Three months later a second wave of donations was collected amounting to PHP 45, 215.

Support for US VeteransArlington

One of our notable causes in the US capital, nearby Washington DC, has been the work by Arlington delivery center Associates in support of US military veterans. Our Associates have made the veterans a top priority by providing water, volunteering through activities like stuffing envelopes and reading. They have also provided support for the families of veterans and supported a Welcome Home Veterans program.

INTERNATIONAL

International Women’s Day Manila

Integreon Associates celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) throughout the month of March, with activities that included:

1. #gopurple, where Associates were encouraged to wear purple on IWD for awareness;

2. “Who’s that girl?” where Associates were asked to identify notable women in history;

3. “IWD quote of the day”, where different quotes by or on women were posted at our reception desk;

4. Photo contest where Associates were encouraged to send photos on what they thought captured the essence of a woman; and

5. “Most Inspiring Women in Integreon” where Associates were encouraged to nominate the colleagues they think inspire other women, whether at work, at home or in their communities. The celebration ended with a women’s forum, where a guest speaker - Gen. Lina Sarmiento, the only female two-star general in the Philippine Army, gave several hours of her time to share her experience and wisdom with our Manila Associates.

International Children’s Day London

The London office hosted a group of 8-9 year-old students from a London primary school. The visit was part of the school’s Work Week Visit initiative and arranged in collaboration with Inspire!, an education-business partnership that supports schools in Hackney, Camden and Islington.

During the visit, we used Microsoft Lync technology to draw Associates from around the world into a workshop on communication, took document review to a new and entertaining level, encouraged the students’ artistic side and gave them a lowdown on sales. We also taught them what we do with a bit of downtime during a busy day, namely a quick game of table tennis. To round off the visit, the students met with CEO Bob Gogel for a Q&A session.

INTERNATIONAL

International Men’s Day Fargo

In celebration of International Men’s Day (IMD), our Fargo Associates distributed chocolates, with positive sayings attached, to all the men in the office. We also held a men’s clothing drive that gathered 88 items, with an estimated value of nearly USD 600, which were donated to the Dorothy Day House in nearby Moorhead, Minnesota.

As part of the IMD celebrations, we also recognized MOvember, supporting the company-wide efforts to generate awareness for men’s health issues by distributing emails and posting flyers.

Activities included:

1. “Integreon Male Role Model” where Associates nominated a colleague they considered as a male role model. The criteria were someone who is very competent and who is responsible at work, with their family and how they interact with other people. Four Associates/managers and our head of security were nominated. Each was given a certificate of recognition. Those who made the nominations were also given tokens of appreciation for sharing an inspiring story of their experience and insights about the male role models.

2. Prostate Cancer Awareness Talk, which is in partnership with our healthcare provider. We hosted a seminar by a wellness and preventive medicine practitioner who discussed the facts and risks of prostate cancer and how it can be avoided.

3. IMD Quiz Show, where eight teams, with three to four members each participated in an afternoon quiz show about famous men in history, entertainment, health and general knowledge.



JOY OF GIVING

Manila

Each year, Integreon kicks off the holiday season with our Joy of Giving Week, which renews our focus on giving back to the communities that support us. In Manila, we held a Christmas party and gift giving at Quirino Memorial Medical Center’s General Medicine Ward. There, Associates gave a short presentation to the families of about 44 patients, gave food baskets for each family in the ward and gave office supplies to the nurses. Quirino Memorial Medical Center is a national, government-funded medical center under the Department of Health, that offers services to indigent sick patients.

At Luwalhati ng Maynila, a home for the elderly, we held another Christmas party and gift giving for the residents. Luwalhati ng Maynila is a project by the Manila City government to relocate homeless elders from the streets to the center and provide care. The area, which is supervised by social workers and volunteers, currently accommodates 297 “lolos and lolas”, to use the local terms for grandfather and grandmother. Although our Associates’ objective was to entertain the residents, they were the ones who welcomed us with their own singing and dancing. Our Associates also gave a short presentation and spent time with the residents, giving each food and a towelette.

Christmas party, gift-giving and photo shoot at Kaisahang Buhay Foundation – our volunteers prepared a fun afternoon for soon-to-be moms (and a few that are already moms) through a foundation that provides financial and emotional support to women around the births of their children. Participants had their portraits taken. According to their website, the organization’s name, Kaisahang Buhay Foundation, stands for oneness within the family and

Christmas party for the Housekeeping and Security Staff – Volunteers from the Mumbai delivery center prepared a program and games during a Thanksgiving dinner for about 22 housekeeping and security personnel.

Different departments also gave their own gifts, on top of the gifts coming from SMILE. Prizes were partially sponsored by different departments. The major prize was a washing machine, sponsored by Legal business unit. Other prizes included kitchen appliances and Christmas food and gift certificates.

Children’s Joy Foundation – fifteen children from CJF sang carols in the Mumbai office for the Associates who couldn’t attend our off-site Christmas party, and we provided a cash donation to help support their education. Children’s Joy Foundation is “a non-stock, nonprofit organization to help the abandoned, neglected and surrendered children in some urban areas”.

Due to poverty, there are a lot of street children roaming around in the Mumbai area who do not get enough nourishment. For this reason, the SMILE team got involved with food distribution, targeting different traffic light areas from Oberoi to Kandivali. Integreon Associates provided ‘Maharaja Bhog food packs’ which consisted of a proper healthy meal to a total of 100 children.

JOY OF GIVING

Arlington

Arlington donated to the Salvation Army Angel Tree, conducted a food drive for the VA Medical Center, made a clothing donation to Winterhaven, a place for homeless veterans, and bought water for the Fisher House which houses veteran families while they received medical care.

Beijing

Noida

As part of their contribution to Joy of Giving Week, our Beijing team ran a clothing drive from November 2014 until January 2015.

The Beijing management decided to buy small healthy fruit boxes for everyone during the team lunch. This is a team buildup activity that they do every two weeks, where Associates bring their own food to the office, or purchase lunch, and eat together in the meeting room. This time we added a fruit box as a plus for celebrating the International Volunteer Day and thanked people for voluntarily joining all the CSR activities held by the Beijing office.

The SMILE Noida team prepared various activities to celebrate Joy of Giving Week, including Spreading SMILES, a clothes drive for Goonj (an NGO partner that repurposes urban cast-off clothing and items for donation to rural villages); the Wishing Wall, where Associates fulfilled wishes posted by 45 underprivileged children at Chetna; and NGO handicraft by an NGO, from Protsahan, where we raised INR 10,000.

Volunteers also carried out an old age home visit at Nirmal Hriday (a sister wing to Missionaries of Charity) and donated 200 blankets, organized a tombola-style raffle and lottery draw for charity through Employee Engagement. Associates ensured that all proceeds from the tickets sold were donated to Chetna.
