The Report on the Performance of Agriculture

provides information on the accomplishments of agriculture during an accounting period.

performance is measured in terms of the gross output produced by the sector.

Page 4: Performance of Agriculture CALABARZON

Gross Output in Agriculture

is the aggregate value of production from all subsectors i.e., crops, livestock, poultry and fisheries;

serves as primary input in the estimation of Gross Value Added (GVA) in agriculture.

Page 5: Performance of Agriculture CALABARZON

Gross Value Added (GVA)

is the unduplicated contribution of the sector to the total production of the economy;

it is the difference between gross value of output and intermediate inputs used in the production process;

in accounting for the GVA in agriculture, the value of agricultural activities and services are incorporated.

Regional Livestock and Poultry Information and Early Warning System (RLPI-EWS)

• created for the development of an appropriate methodology for efficient early warning system for broiler meat and pork.

Specifically, the project aims to:

a) Develop and enhance the supply and demand forecasting model for broiler meat and pork, its database and data system;

b) Enhance the system of data sharing and feedback mechanism among the core team (PSA, BAI, LDC, NMIS, DA-AMAS, RFUs, LGUs, and the Private Agribusiness Sector)

Page 24: Performance of Agriculture CALABARZON

c) Come up with publications on “Broiler and Swine Situationer” reports which is the output of RLPI- EWS Project Team; and

• Strengthen linkage with the private agribusiness stakeholders through exchange of information.
