A When ICI test bars are used in tensile testing as provided for in this specification, the gage length to reduced aection diameter ratio shall be 4 to 1.
eThese grades must be charpy impact tested as prescnbed in Section 9, and with minimum values as shown in Table 3.
7. Chemical Composition
7.1 The steel shall coniomi to sulfur and phosphorus requirements as prescribed in Table 1.
7.2 The content of carbon, manganese. silicon, and alloying
elements may, by agreement. be prescribed by thc purchaser. Ifnot specified, the content may be selected by tile manufacturerto obtain the required mechanical properties.
7.3 When the analysis of carbon. manganese, silicon, or anyintentionally added alloying element is specilcally requestedin the contract or order, it shall be made by the manufacturer
and reported to the purchaser. The results of these analysesshall not be used as a basis for rejection except by prioragreement.
8. Tensile Requirements
8.! One tension test shal] be made from each heat and shallconform to the tensile requirements specified iii Table 2.
8.2 The test coupons and specimens shall confbrrn torequirements specified in Section 11.
8.3 Tension test coupons shall he machined to the form anddimension shown in Fig. 5 of Test Methods and i)efinitions
A 370 and tested in accordance with those test methods.8.4 To determine conformance with the tension test require
nients, an observed value or calculated value shall be roundedoff in accordance with Practice E 29 to the nearest 50(1 psi [5MPaj for yield point and tensile strength and to the nearest 1 %for elongation and reduction of area.
9. Charpy Impact Requirements
9.1 This section is applicable only to grades 165-150L{1140-1035L], 210-180L [1450-1240L], and 260-2101, [1795-

NOTE I—Other grades may be ordered to charpy impact test require
ments in accordance with Supplementary Requirement S9 of Specilication
A 781/A 781M.
9.2 The notched bar impact properties of each heat shall bedetermined by testing one set of three Charpy V-notch impactspecimens at —40° 2°F [—40° ± 1°Ci. The energy value ofthe three specimens shall not be less than shown in Table 3.

10. Retests
10.1 If the results of the tensile or charpy teSts do notcontbrm to the requirements specified, heat-treated castingsmay, at the manufacturer’s option, be reheat treated. Testingafter reheat treatment shall consist of the full number ofspecimens complying with the specification or order.
ii. Test Coupons and Specimens

Method(s) 8260B: A full list spike was utilized for this method. Due to the large number of spiked analytes, there is a high probability that
one or more analytes will recover outside acceptance limits. The laboratory’s SOP allows for 4 analytes to recover outside criteria for this
method when a full list spike is utilized. The LCS associated with batch 210665 had 3 analytes outside control limits; therefore,
re-extraction/re-analysis was not performed. These results have been reported and qualified.
Method(s) 826DB: A full list spike was utilized for this method. Due to the large number of spiked analytes, there is a high probability that
one or more analytes will recover outside acceptance limits. The laboratory’s SOP allows for 4 analytes to recover outside criteria for this
method when a full list spike is utilized. The LCSD associated with batch 210908 had 2 analytes outside control limits; therefore,
re-extraction/re-analysis was not performed. These results have been reported and qualified.
Method(s) 826DB: The matrix spike! matrix spike duplicate (MS/MSD) recoveries for batch 210908 were outside control limits. The
associated laboratory control sample (LCS) recovery met acceptance criteria.
Method(s) 8260B: The matrix spike! matrix spike duplicate (MS!MSD) precision for batch 210908 was outside control limits. The
associated laboratory control sample! laboratory control sample duplicate (LCS!LCSD) precision met acceptance criteria.
Method(s) 826DB: The following compound was outside control limits in the continuing calibration verification (CCV) associated with batch
210624: iodomethane. This compound is not classified as a Calibration Check Compound (CCC) in the reference method, and the
laboratory defaults to in-house and/or project-specific criteria for evaluation. There is insufficient holding time remaining for re-analysis;
therefore, the data have been reported. The associated samples were non-detect for the affected analyte.
No other analytical or quality issues were noted.
GC/MS Semi VOA
Method(s) 8270C: The laboratory control sample (LCS) for batch 210688 exceeded control limits for the following analyte(s): Famphur.
Famphur has been identified as a poor performing analyte when analyzed using this method; therefore, re-extraction/re-analysis was not
performed.
Method(s) 8270C: A full list spike was utilized for this method. Due to the large number of spiked analytes, there is a high probability that
one or more analytes will recover outside acceptance limits. The laboratory’s SOP allows for 2 analytes to recover outside criteria for this
method when a full list spike is utilized. The LCS associated with batch 210688 had 3 analytes outside control limits; therefore,
re-extraction/re-analysis was not performed. These results have been reported and qualified.
Method(s) 827DC: The matrix spike/matrix spike duplicate (MS/MSD) recoveries and precision for batch 210688 were outside control
limits. The associated laboratory control sample (LCS) recovery met acceptance criteria.
No other analytical or quality issues were noted.
GCSemiVOA
Method(s) 8151A: This method incorporates the use of second column confirmation. Corrective action for unacceptable percent recovery
is not taken for surrogate or spike compounds unless the results from both columns are outside criteria. Any results which fall outside
criteria are qualified and reported.
No other analytical or quality issues were noted.
MetalsNo analytical or quality issues were noted.
