The May 19 meeting was great with the Millbrae Lons

cooking great steaks and serving . Great job guys!

Our next meeting will be June 23 at the Mission Blue

Center in Brisbane. The menu is not set yet, but it will

be great.

Congratulations to incoming District Governor Lion

Emil Kantola and incoming Vice District Governor

Lion Ken Ibarra. We wish you success in the coming

year! Many of the Peninsula and San Francisco Coun-

cil Officers attended the District Convention in Sacra-

mento. It was great to see the support and commitment

from both councils.

Since this is my last President’s message, I would like

to thank all of my officers for their help and support

Peninsula Council Join SF Peninsula Council President Lion Bob Wilson and

other members of the Peninsula attended the San Fran-

cisco Council of Lions meeting, May 25, hosted by the

San Francisco Fil-Am Lions with President Dr. Au-

gusto Valera held at Marie Callender Restaurant, Ser-

ramonte Center, Daly City. Congratulations to Presi-

dent Margaret Lee for the fantastic meeting and to the

hosting club, San Francisco Fil-Am Lions.

the Burlingame “Day on the Green” held at Burlin-

game High School.

May 19 - three Burlingame High School students re-

ceived scholarship from Burlingame Lions

$1000.00 Dean O’Connell Memorial Scholarship to

Alexandra Garcia. $1000.00 Hern Schmidt Memorial

Scholarship to Brittany Martinez. $1500.00 PDG Jud

Holland Nursing Scholarship to Lindsay Bottarini.

Several members attended the annual “Roots and

Shoots” lunch at McKinley Elementary School with

children no parents and grandparents.

Eye pre-screened preschool children, 625 children

screened and 21 referred to get eye exam.

Inducted two new members.

Several members attended the annual convention in

Sacramento.

anniversary family fun day.

May 7 - Millbrae Lions Club Past President Dinner, 19

past presidents attended.

Annual opportunity scholarship presentations at Mills

and Capuchino High School - $375.00 to each winner.

Donated $200.00 to Mills High School graduate of the

Year.

Volunteer at Mills High School Pancake Breakfast

serving over 400 pancake.

Youth in Government dinner in conjuction with San

Bruno Lions.

President John Muniz as “Principal for the Day” at

Green Hills Elementary School.

April 12 - Annual Sports Appreciation Dinner,

Millbrae Lions Club Baseball Project hosted by

Millbrae coaches & spouses.

Donated $400.00 to Past President Lion Lew Grasber-

ger grandson who will participating in Lion Youth

Exchange Program.

26 members of Millbrae Lions Club Leo’s attended the

district convention in Sacramento.

15 members attended the District Convention in Sacra-

mento. Received 7 awards including the “Lion Don

Stanaway award for membership retention.

Twenty pair of eye glasses collected.

Participated in Junior Olympics, over 150 guests. Pro-

sold cotton candy, popcorn and snow cones, raised

Several members with the Kiwanis and Rotary Club in

a local food give away program “The Caring Cupboard

and twice a month are currently giving away approxi-

mately 35 bags of groceries that feeding about 70

needy seniors.

Participating in he highway clean up at the clover leaf

of Holly and Highway 101 for the Adopt a Highway

Program, every first Saturday of the month.

June 14, installation and awards night at the Van’s

Restaurant in Belmont.

Will participate in the Palo Alto Concourse d’Elen-

gance.

Rudy Pedagat received Certificates of Appreciation

and Governor’s medal, received also the International

President’s Certificate of Appreciation.

Rudy Pedagat donated $200.00 to Lions 4th district

Student Speakers Foundation and become a “Harry J.

Aslan Fellow”

August 16, Installation and Anniversary dinner dance

at Clarion Hotel
