For every examinations, you must produce your individual Statement of Entry and the Valid International Passport that you used during registration at the entrance to the examination hall.

If you fail to do so, you will not be allowed into the examination hall.

EXAMINATION REGULATIONS

1 You are required to comply in all respects with any instructions issued by the Examination Board before and during an exam.

2 You may not attempt to deceive the invigilators by giving false or misleading information.

3 You are not allowed to take to your exam desk any books, notes or other materials except those authorised by the examination regulation. These are known as unauthorised materials’.

4 You are not allowed to possess any unauthorised materials while the exam is in progress (whether at your desk or otherwise).

5 You are not allowed to use, or attempt to use, or intend to use, any unauthorised materials while the exam is in progress.

6 You may not assist, attempt to assist, obtain or attempt to obtain assistance by improper means from any other person during your exams.

7 You are required to adhere at all times to the Instructions to Candidates, which you receive with your Examination paper.

8 You are required to comply with the exam board’s ruling. Invigilators are obliged to report any cases of irregularity or improper conduct to the British Council. The supervisor is empowered to discontinue your exam if you are suspected of misconduct and to exclude you from the exam hall.

9 You may not engage in any other unprofessional conduct designed to assist you in your exam attempt.

10 You are not permitted to remove either your candidate answer booklet or your question paper from the exam hall. All exam candidate answer booklets remain the property of the examination board.

11 Once the exam has started, you are not allowed to leave the exam hall permanently until the end of the session and then only when instructed by the invigilator.

12 If you attempt to gain an unfair advantage in the exam (whether by breaching an exam regulation or otherwise) you are likely to be removed from the examination board’s record following disciplinary proceedings.

EXAMINATION GUIDELINESBefore the Examination

• You are reminded to read the Notice to Candidates (instruction from Edexcel) carefully and observe all regulations governing the examination unless otherwise instructed. This notice will also be displayed near the examination hall for your reference.

• You are advised to synchronise your watch with the clock being used in the examination hall. You are not allowed to bring mobile phones and watches with calculators and/or chimes into the examination hall.

• You will not be allowed entry into the examination premises until 45 minutes before the examination start time.

• Please carefully check the date and venue of your examinations in the table above. All examinations scheduled for the International Advanced Level (IAL) AM session will start at 10.30 a.m. and the PM session at 3.00 p.m. GCE and International GCSE AM session will start at 3.00 p.m. and the PM session at 7.00 p.m. unless otherwise stated. Please note that you should arrive at the Centre at least 45 minutes before the beginning of each examination.

• You are reminded to read the Notice to Candidates (instruction from Edexcel) carefully and observe all regulations governing the examination unless otherwise instructed. This notice will also be displayed near the examination hall for your reference.

• If you are taking A/AS level exams, and are taking only the second of two consecutive papers, you only need to report for the second paper at 11.30am instead of 10.30am in the A.M. session (IAL), and at 4.00pm instead of 3.00pm in the P.M. session (IAL) and 4.00pm instead of 3.00pm in the A.M. session (GCE) and 8.00pm instead of 7.00pm in the P.M. session (GCE).

• For example (1), GCE Core Maths. C1 (6663) and Mechanics M3 (6679) run consecutively during the A.M. session, the first paper starts at 3.00pm, and the second at 4.30pm. If you are only taking the Mechanics M3 (6679), you need to report at 4.00pm.

• For example (2), Mechanics M 1 (WME01) and Further Pure F2 (WFM02) run consecutively during the A.M. session, the first paper starts at 10.30am, and the second at 12.00pm. If you are only taking

the Further Pure F2 (WFM02), you need to report at 11.30am.

• Please pay close attention to the Invigilator’s announcement at the beginning of each examination. This will include important information relating to safety within the examination hall.

• Please also ensure that you know where the fire exits are.

• Each desk in the examination hall is numbered; please ensure that you are sitting at the correct desk by referring to the candidate number.

During the Examination

• Please ensure that you arrive on time for your examination(s) as you will not be given extra time if you are late.

• During examinations, if you need any additional paper or assistance from the invigilators please raise your hand without making any noise.

• You are not permitted to leave the hall permanently until the end of the session.

• If you are required to leave the hall for a short period, you will be escorted by an Invigilator.

• You may take to your desk:- rulers, pens, pencils and an eraser- geometrical instruments- calculator which may be programmable but

which may not have a printout or graphic/word/ mass storage/display facility in any language.

• Before the examination begins please complete the following details on the front of your candidate answer booklet in black ballpoint pen:- your name or initial- your candidate number- your centre number

• Please use only black ball point pen to complete your answers in your candidate answer booklets.

• Please ensure that you have been given the correct examination paper by comparing the front cover of your examination paper with the paper designation code on the statement of entry.

• British Council does not implement a dress code for its examinations. However, please dress for your examination(s) in a manner which will not cause offence to your fellow candidates.

• Before, during and after your examination(s), please do not behave in a manner which will distract your fellow candidates. Inappropriate behaviour will be reported to examination body by the invigilator.

• Please do not open your question paper or start writing in your answer booklet until you are instructed to do so by the invigilator.

• Please stop writing as soon as the invigilator ends the examination. Please do not then leave your desk until the invigilator permits you to do so.

After the Examination

• Please submit your completed answer booklets, question paper to the invigilator at the end of the examination. No examination item should be removed from the exam hall.

• All candidates must remain seated for the full duration of the examination until all papers have been collected. Those who finish early must remain seated and MUST not leave the examination hall prematurely.

• Please note that question papers will be collected by the invigilators at the end of each exam and before you leave the examination hall

• Results for May-June 2015 session are expected to be available on 13 August 2015 for A Level and 20 August 2015 for International GCSE at www.britishcouncil.org.bd. “Candidate Statement of Provisional Results” will be sent to students’ home addresses for the private ones and to the schools for the school candidates.

• The original certificates are expected to be available sometime in June for January exams and November for May/June session.

• Candidates (under centre number 90320) need to collect certificates in person from the British Council by showing original Statement of Entry or Valid International Passport. In occasion of any candidate living outside Bangladesh, certificates can be collected by an authorised person along with candidate’s authorisation letter, original statement of entry and original ID of the person collecting on behalf.

• Candidate under different centre will collect the certificate from their respective schools.

NOTICE TO CANDIDATES

Dear candidate

At the outset we would like send our best wishes for your May June 2015 examinations!

This communication is focussing on the possibility of disruptions during examinations in May-June 2015. Although we hope

that there will be no such disruptions, we would like you to be informed of the measures that the British Council may take in

such a situation in consultation with the UK exams board.

If there is any disruption like ‘Hartal’ we will assess the situation with Pearson Edexcel Examinations Board on case to case

basis and may deliver or postpone the examinations. We will communicate this to candidates. Candidate must evaluate the

situation while traveling to an exam venue during a ‘Hartal’ session if we deliver exams.

Safety of our candidates, staff, security of exams materials are paramount and influence our decision making. Therefore

Pearson Edexcel Examinations Board and British Council will keep the national situation under constant review. We are also

working on extra measures to put in place to ensure the safety and integrity of the exams. Where the situation is very much

disruptive, and our risk assessment does not permit us to deliver then in consultation with Pearson Edexcel Examinations

Board we may cancel examinations considering the safety & security of our staff, candidates and examinations.

Information for candidatesFor written examinations – effective from 1 September 2014

This document has been written to help you. Read it carefully and follow the instructions.If there is anything you do not understand, especially which calculator you may use, ask your teacher.

A Regulations – Make sure you understand the rules

1 Be on time for all your exams. If you are late, your work might not be accepted.2 Do not become involved in any unfair or dishonest practice during the exam.3 If you try to cheat, or break the rules in any way, you could be disqualified from all your subjects.4 You must not take into the exam room:

• notes;• potential technological/web enabled sources of information such as an iPod, a mobile phone, a MP3/4 player or a wrist watch which has a

data storage device.Any pencil cases taken into the exam room must be see-through.Remember: possession of unauthorised material is breaking the rules, even if you do not intend to use it, and you will be subject to penalty and possible disqualification.

5 Do not use correcting pens, fluid or tape, erasable pens, highlighters or gel pens in your answers.6 Do not talk to or try to communicate with, or disturb other candidates once the exam has started.7 You must not write inappropriate, obscene or offensive material.8 If you leave the exam room unaccompanied by an invigilator before the exam has finished, you will not be allowed to return.9 Do not borrow anything from another candidate during the exam.

B Information – Make sure you attend your exams and bring what you need1 Know the dates and times of all your exams.2 Arrive at least ten minutes before the start of each exam.3 If you arrive late for an exam, report to the invigilator running the exam.4 If you arrive more than one hour after the published starting time for the exam, you may not be allowed to take it.5 Only take into the exam room the pens, pencils, erasers and any other equipment which you need for the exam.6 You must write in black ink. Coloured pencils or inks may only be used for diagrams, maps, charts, etc. unless the instructions printed on the front of the

question paper state otherwise.

C Calculators, Dictionaries and Computer Spell-checkers1 You may use a calculator unless you are told otherwise.2 If you use a calculator:

• make sure it works properly; check that the batteries are working properly;• clear anything stored in it;• remove any parts such as cases, lids or covers which have printed instructions or formulas;• do not bring into the exam room any operating instructions or prepared programs.

3 Do not use a dictionary or computer spell checker unless you are told otherwise.

D Instructions during the exam1 Always listen to the invigilator. Follow their instructions at all times.2 Tell the invigilator at once:

• if you think you have not been given the right question paper or all of the materials listed on the front of the paper;• if the question paper is incomplete or badly printed.

3 Read carefully and follow the instructions printed on the question paper and/or on the answer booklet.4 Fill in all the details required on the front of the question paper and/or the answer booklet before you start the exam. Make sure you fill these details in on any additional answer sheets that you use.5 Remember to write your answers within the designated sections of the answer booklet.6 Do your rough work on the proper exam stationery. Cross it through and hand it in with your answers. Make sure you add your candidate details to any additional answer sheets that you use.

E Advice and assistance1 If on the day of the exam you feel that your work may be affected by ill health or any other reason, tell the invigilator.2 Put up your hand during the exam if:

• you have a problem and are in doubt about what you should do;• you do not feel well;• you need more paper.

3 You must not ask for, and will not be given, any explanation of the questions.

F At the end of the exam1 If you have used more than one answer booklet and/or any loose sheets of paper, place them in the correct order. Remember to fasten them together with a treasury tag before you leave. Make sure you add your candidate details to any additional answer sheets that

you use.

2 Do not leave the exam room until told to do so by the invigilator.

3 Do not take from the exam room any stationery. This includes the question paper, answer booklets used or unused, rough work or any other materials provided for the exam.

Warning to Candidates

1. You must be on time for all your examinations.
