2015 from 7.00 to 8.00 a.m. The venue was DDA Park

adjoining BB Block Janakpuri. Yogacahrya Shri Bhagwat

Kumar Pant and his disciple Smt. Sushma Sharma (as

demonstrator) were at their natural best.

The event started with an introduction to the Intl. Yoga Day as

adopted by the United Nations.

All other activities in the Park – RSS Shakha, Jogging,

Badminton, Football, jokes and discussions among the

morning walkers and their individual exercises came to a halt

as all joined the big group for performing Yogic Exercises as

provided by the Protocol of Government of India. Asanas - in

A career scientist turned reluctant politician, Kalam was born and raised in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, and studied physics and aerospace engineering. He spent the next four decades as a scientist and science administrator, mainly at the DRDO and ISRO and was intimately involved in India's civilian space program and military missile development efforts. stOn Sunday the 21 June 2015, Bharat Vikas Parishad, GK 1 Branch in association with Ayush Mantralaya, Government of India organised International Yoga Day in " R " Block Park, GK

-1. It was attended by a large number of people from GK Enclave 1, Pamposh Enclave, Hem Kunt Colony and other areas. Here the participants were apprised of the various benefits of Yoga and how it could control and prevent various HEALTH PROBLEMS. After the event light refreshment was served to all.

Yoga Camp was organised by the branch on 21st June 2015,

on International Yoga Day at Aravali Apartments, Alaknanda

which was attended by around 60 people. The event was

presided over by Zonal Chairman, Smt Shashi Azad along

Foundation Day of BVP:

During June 2015 under our regular programme of Nar Sewa- Narain Sewa, the Branch gave away 9 hearing aids to the needy, on 19 June 2015. The recipients were referred to us by Deen Dayal Hospital. Shri K.R. Rama Moorthy, Genl. Secy, BVP, Delhi ( South) gave away

the hearing aids.

The Branch gratefully received the following donations during July, 2015

· Dr. H. C. Gandhi donated a sum of Rs. 5000/- to the Branch.

· Shri Ameer Chand donated a sum of Rs. 1,000/- in memory of his wife, (Late) Smt. Neelam Dassan, who had expired earlier this year.

· Shri M.M. Sharma donated Rs. 5000/- for students of Vidya Bharti School

The Branch had planned GVCA programmes in 5 schools prior to the start of summer vacations. All these functions were held in the morning assemblies of respective schools.

th was celebrated on 19 July, 2015. Shri B.L. Parashar, our Advisor, was the main speaker. The programme was graced by the presence of Smt. Shashi Azad, President, Zone III, Smt. Promila Grover, President of BVP, Delhi (South), Sh. D.N. Grover, Chief Patron, Smt. (Dr.) Meena

Thakur) besides members of BVP and others. Smt. Azad also addressed the gathering.

During this programme the following activities under the Help the Needy', were undertaken:

Nearly 250 children of the families who have been displaced from Pakistan, have been admitted in various schools. While their books, uniforms, etc. are provided by the school authorities, they badly need stationery items.

Our Branch provided to them about 1,000 note books, pens, pencils, erasers and sharpners and other items.

: Note Books worth Rs. 50,000/-were donated. In addition an amount of Rs. 5000/- was donated by Shri M.M. Sharma.

Help to MHD Saraswati Mandir: Books worth Rs. 17500/- were donated;

( Rs. 11,000/-) were donated. All these persons had been earlier examined and certified by DDU Hospital.

Students of Sewa Dham School presented a beautiful Vanvasi song and dance programmes.

Members of our Branch have a d o p t e d E k a l Vidyalaya being run by RVKP. One such school has been adopted by our Branch. For funding these schools we have remitted a sum of Rs. 1,05,000/- towards 7 Ekal Vidyalayas.

Total for all these activities works out to Rs. 1,92,000/-.

Our permanent projects continued to function during the months of June and July, 2015:

· Daan Peti: Collections from the Daan Peti were handed over to Family of Disabled – an NGO devoted to the cause of the handicapped.

· Collection of Medicines: A bagful of medicines were collected and given away to Hospital being run by HH Sidhhanshu ji Maharaj, at Bakarwala ( West Delhi) for distribution among the needy patients. This process is going on every week.

· Free Medical Consultation: Free medical advice was given by Dr. Rakhi Saxena to the poor on all Sundays.

· Dental Van: With the help of Dental Van being maintained by BVP Delhi ( South), the Branch organized 5 camps each in June and July, 2015 in which nearly 90 patients benefitted.

This camp thwas organized on 14 June, 2015 at Shri Geeta

Mandir in association with Max Vision Eye

Hospital, Janakpuri. More than 85 persons

benefitted from this camp.

This camp was organized on th20 June wth the help and association of Elder

Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Pusa Road. The camp was organized at

Shri Geeta Mandir. More than 90 persons took advantage.

A Baal Sanskar Shivir was organized by th

our Branch between 23-27 June, 2015 at Shri Geeta Mandir

in which school children ( 7-15 years) took active part. The

activities included Drawing Competition, Kite Flying, Yogic

Exercises and song and musical competition. This

programme was coordinated and supervised by our Shri O.P.

Arora and all the Branch functionaries took active part in all

the activities. Children who showed outstanding

performance were suitably awarded.

The birthday

of Dr. Suraj Prakash ji ( 27-6-1920) was celebrated by the thBranch in its General Body Meeting held on 28 June, 2015 at

Shri Geeta Mandir, Janakpuri. Those who graced the

occasion were Shri B.L. Parashar, Dr.( Smt.) Meena Thakur,

Shri R.K. Aggarwal and Shri K.R. Rama Moorthy, General

Secretary, BVP Delhi ( South), besides Shri J.P. Sharma, Genl.

Secy. of Dharmik and Samajik Mahasangh, Janakpuri.

Shri Parashar spoke about the life and achievements of Dr.

Suraj Prakash and his contribution to build Bharat Vikas

Parishad by his untiring efforts. Others who spoke

appreciated the efforts of BVP and particularly C2 Branch in

the Sewa and Sanskar activities.

Foundation day of BVP was celebrated by the branch in Geeta

Mandir on 19.07.2015 where prominent personalities of

Janakpuri and also of BVP were invited for participation. They

included Sh. Ashish Sood, Leader of the House South Delhi

Municipal Corporation, Smt. Rajni Mamtani, Counsellor

SDMC, Smt. Meena Thakur, former Counsellor MCD, Sh. P.R.

Sahni, former Delhi Mayor, Sh. B.L. Parashar, Smt. Shashi

Azad, Chairman Zone –III of BVP, Smt. Promila Grover,

President Delhi State (South) etc. Sh. D.N. Grover, Chief

Advisor Delhi State (South) was the Chief Guest. They all

highlighted the activities, achievement of Bharat Vikas

Parishad in the country through the work of 1200 branches

and more than one lakh members within the frame work of

Sampark, Sahyog, Sanskar, Sewa and Samarpan.

This was followed by which the branch has

been organizing on this day for the last 15 years. The function

was attended by more than 120 members of the branch,

their spouses beside other guests etc.

held on Friday 31 July, 2015 where members were

entertained by Bhajans, Songs, Poems, talks etc.

Being Guru Purnima Day the importance of Guru,

Guide, Teacher was highlighted by the eminent

speakers and poets through their poems and talks on

this occasion.

b. Member who had contributed to the fund for

providing scholarship of Rs. 600/- each to the

deserving and brilliant students of both the MCD

Primary School of C-2 Block, Janakpuri, were

profusely thanked and appreciated for their noble

gesture.

A Meeting of the General Body of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Janak Puri (Main) Branch was held at Shri Sanatan Dharm Mandir, C-3 Bus Stop Janak Puri on

th Thursday, 7 June 2015. After Deep Prajwalan & Vande Mataram Shri G.B.Sharma

Branch President welcomed the members. Sh. M.P. Anand presented the audited accounts for the year 2014-15.

In the meeting newly elected office-bearers viz. Sh. G.B. Sharma-President, Sh.M.K.Wadhwa, Secretary & Sh. Vinay Bhatia-Treasurer - took oath of office administered by Sh.K.R. Rama Moorthy, Gen. Sec. B.V.P Delhi (South) .

Main speaker in the meeting was Sh.K.R. Rama Moorthy. He offered all help from Delhi State (South) in conducting Branch programmes. Sh P.R.Sahni, former Mayor of Delhi & Dr. Meena Thakur spoke on the values of Indian culture. Other eminent persons present were S/Sh. B.L.Parashar, I.D. Ojha, B.N. Malhotra, Branch Advisor and B. B. Gupta, Branch Auditor. On this occasion school books for the academic year 2015- 16 were donated to a student.

Dinner was served to the members after the meeting.

It was a day to remember for two blind & physically challenged couples residing near Alaknanda area for their life time. As part of Samuhik Saral Vivah these couples were married in a function organised by BVP Alaknanda branch on 4th of April 2015 at Lal Sai Mandir,

Alaknanda. To get settled in their life, these couples were provided with steel almirah, bed with complete linen, ceiling fan, cooking gas range with gas connection, kitchen/ cooking u t e n s i l s , p l a t e s , g l a s s e s , k a t o r i e s , spoons, ten s e t s o f clothes for bride, five set of clothes for g r o o m , mangal sutra, ring, payal, toe-r ing in silver for bride, silver ring for groom, bed sheets, pillows, blanket, bucket and many more household items. There was band baja and wedding was solemnised with full rituals. Breakfast and lunch was served to people from both side and distinguished guests. The occasion was graced by the then Zonal Chairman Sh. Ashok Azad, Smt. Shashi Azad, State President Smt. Promila Grover, Sh D N Grover, State General Secretary Sh. K. R. Rama Moorthy, State Treasurer Sh Nalin Kohli and many other distinguished guests & branch members. Sh. Vinay Khanna, Smt Neelam Anand and Smt Shashi Azad helped in organizing this programme and making it a great success.

A sum of Rs 31,000 was

donated by the branch towards Nepal Earthquake Relief

Fund through Central Office.

July) and the Jayanti of its founder , Dr. Suraj th th

Prakash (27 June) on Sunday (12 July) at

Shiv Mandir, Pamposh Enclave, G.K.-1. The

chief guests were Smt. Shashi Azad rd

(Chairperson Zone 3 ), Shri D.N. Grover and Shri B.L. Prashar.

The chief speaker was Shri Ravi Dev Gupta, a vedic scholar.

Smt. Promila Grover, President (south) spoke on the life of

Dr. Suraj Prakash. Shri D.N. Grover, Patron, gave a general

review of the various programmes, such as Medical activities

of the branch in providing Dental and Eye vans. Shri B.L.

Prashar, Advisor, explained in detail on the activities of BVP in

the fields of Education, Service, Medical, Vanvasi Sahayata

Yojna, Viklang Sahayata Yojna, etc.

Dr. Sushil Gandhi, the branch President, who joined BVP a

few years ago, explained how he longed for a long time to

serve the country and at last found in BVP all that he was

looking for and exhorted the audience to join BVP in large

numbers.
