This session aims to:

• raise awareness of the value of learner needs in lesson planning (Outcome 2)

• introduce the purpose and content of learner profiles (Outcome 2)

• practise creating individual and group learner profiles (Outcome 2)

• introduce the Unit, Outcomes and assessment (all Outcomes)

This session aims to:

• raise awareness of how to manage the learning environment (Outcomes 1, 2 and 4)

• highlight ways of building rapport and maintaining interaction (Outcomes 1, 2 and 4)

• provide practice in using teaching aids (Outcomes 1 and 4)

• raise awareness of methods of grouping learners (Outcomes 1, 2 and 4)

Unit 2 > Session 3

This session aims to:

• raise awareness of issues involved in giving feedback (Outcomes 1 and 4)

• develop awareness of how to manage the learning environment (Outcomes 1, 2 and 4)

• facilitate preparation for Outcome 1 assessment (Outcome 1)

• provide practice creating lead-ins (Outcomes 2 and 4)

This session aims to:

• develop an understanding of aims and rationale (Outcome 2)

• develop awareness of how different activities achieve aims (Outcome 2)

• introduce the basic elements of lesson planning (Outcome 2)

• develop ability to stage learning activities (Outcome 2)

Unit 2 > Session 5This session aims to:

• complete part of Outcome 1 summative assessment (Outcome 1)

• raise awareness of the importance of review and reflection (Outcome 4)

• identify the purpose and value of learner feedback (Outcome 4)

• introduce a variety of learning and teaching resources (Outcome 3)

• provide practice in evaluating resources (Outcome 3)

Unit 2 > Session 6This session aims to:

• introduce and practise methods of eliciting vocabulary (Outcome 2 and 4)

• develop skills in concept checking vocabulary (Outcome 2 and 4)

• explore a variety of online resources (Outcome 3)

• select appropriate online or published resource and provide the rationale (Outcome 3)

• explore how task type and level are linked (Outcome 3)

This session aims to:

• develop awareness of techniques to introduce language points (Outcomes 2 and 4)

• practise introducing and highlighting language points (Outcomes 2 and 4)

• develop skills in selecting and sequencing activities (Outcomes 2, 3 and 4)
