TimeTraq implementation is almost complete. We will have all colleges and de-partments on-line by May 29, 2008. For the colleges and departments that are using OWL time clock system created by Michael Williamson in Computer Services, the pay periods have been updated to match the TimeTraq Biweekly pay periods as well as the rounding to the quarter hour to go with TimeTraq requirements.

In March 2008, the Payroll Department launched its first “TimeTraq Tip of the Month.” We hope to hit on issues the users face most often. These tips will be sent out to the Department Administrators and Approvers. We request that the employees serving in these roles in TimeTraq will forward to the other TimeTraq users within the department. To refer to all the tips, go to http://falcon.tamucc.edu/~finserv/payroll/index.html, scroll down to TimeTraq Tip of the Month”.

EPA Documents and Student Awards When hiring a new student worker in your department and know that they have been awarded work study, it is very important to know which type of work study award it is, so that you can reflect the correct Title and Object Codes on your EPA document.

You can verify this information by asking the student to bring in a current award letter or the student can also logon to SAIL and obtain the information that you are requesting. The information obtained will tell you what type of an award the student is receiving. From this you can determine which Title and Object codes to use.

An award can be as follows:

Name of Award Title Code Object Code

Federal College Work Study 7702 1745

Federal Community Service Work Study 7702 1746

State College Work Study 7703 1750

State Work Study Mentor (Restricted to the TLC) 7708 1751

Federal College-America Reads Work Study 7702 1755

Rising Scholar Work Study 7709 1759

If you are still uncertain about which Title and Object Code to use, please call contact Terry Hidalgo at Ext.2411 or send an email to [email protected]

TAMU-CC had only 33% of em-ployees take advantage of the

electronic notification of their 2007 W-2. The TAMUS wide average percentage was 47%. We printed and mailed 2032 out of 3041 W-2’s.

Of the printed W-2’s, over 400 were returned due to incorrect addresses.

Go “paperless” & help protect your informa-tion as well as helping the university save money.

1. Go Direct Deposit : Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites & encourages all employees to participate in the direct deposit program. Direct Deposit is an effi-cient and convenient, cost-free employee benefit.

• You can sign up for direct deposit or change your banking information on HRConnect. Simply click on the payroll link and go to Direct Deposit Informa-tion. You can also sign up for direct deposit of your travel or other reimburse-ments through accounts payable on HRConnect. Our future is becoming paper-less. So sign up today.

2. Go Paperless: TAMU-CC employees who participate in direct deposit have the opportunity to receive details of their earnings &deductions by electronic notifica-tion. Employees who choose electronic notification will no longer receive a printed stub, or ACH retainer. In addition to increased efficiency in distribution of pay infor-mation, the notification system will eliminate printing, paper and labor costs re-quired to produce and process earnings statements. This is an opportunity for every department and every employee at TAMU-CC to help us “Go Green”.

• In addition to electronic notification of pay check detail & W-2 ’s, HRConnect provides calculators for estimating TRS benefits and net pay, updating the Form W-4, leave information, and other valuable assistance. Electronic notification is available to biweekly and monthly paid employees, including student workers who currently participate in Direct Deposit of payroll earnings from TAMU-CC.

Sign up is easy and the change is immediate! Simply follow the steps listed below.

1. Go to HRConnect (http://sso.tamus.edu)

2. On HRConnect select "Payroll Data".

4. Select "Electronic Payroll Earnings Information" & then, "Click for Details".

5. Follow the instructions for verifying your email address & for selecting the
