Here we are, 2014 is well and truly behind us and we are looking forward to exciting times ahead.

1st April, 2015 marked a significant day in the history of Patton Limited. The Swedish refrigeration group, Beijer Ref AB, acquired 100% of Patton Ltd. Beijer Ref is one of the largest refrigeration wholesalers in the world and this acquisition is a significant step forward in the company’s strategy to continue its growth outside Europe.

Patton is very excited to be part of Beijer Group, which opens up several new opportunities for further growth. Patton will continue to operate as an independent business using existing branding under Beijer’s ownership.

This will support their expansion plans going forward. More good news: Patton Thailand is becoming the most successful contender in the refrigeration market in the Philippines. We can look forward to more exciting news from this promising region.

Patton Management Team (including: Patton CEO Sameer Handa, NZ General Manager Philip Hitchins, AU National Sales Manager John McCarey and National Technical Manager Craig Parker) will be attending the CEO Summit

2015 in Auckland, NZ in May.

The summit, held every 18 months since 2005, is a two-day inspirational design conference that brings to life some of the theory and concepts of design in business, and helps expose business leaders to global best practice in design, design thinking and innovation.

As well as inspiring New Zealand’s business leaders to adopt design thinking and build innovative company cultures, the summit also seeks to introduce them to tools that enable design-led evolution within their businesses. It will also be an opportunity for participants to share experiences and learn from each other. Summit content is within a framework of what is relevant to New Zealand business at the time, and what is possible through turning design thinking into design doing.

The CEO Summit 2015 theme is ‘Balancing Transformation’. Together attendees will explore the tension of managing disruptive innovation while delivering against current business plans. Some of the tensions often seen in business include...

How do you:• Evolve your culture to embrace change?• Imagine a future that doesn’t exist while delivering today’s plan?• Make choices on where to apply radical or incremental innovation?• Bring great ideas to market at speed while keeping the rest of the organisation on the rails?• Fuse creativity with the operational and analytical?

Visit from Beijer Ref Group

To mark the acqui-sition of Patton Limited by the Beijer Ref Group

all Auckland staff had the privilege of meeting the CFO/EVP of Beijer Ref AB, Mr Jonas Lindqvist, during a visit to our Auckland head offi ce from Monday 13th April to Thursday 16th April.

At the start of his visit on Monday Jonas gave us a very interesting and informative presentation on Beijer Ref AB and an-swered all our questions.

To introduce Jonas to our New Zealand culture we invited Jonas for a kiwi-style BBQ lunch and following this our CEO, Sameer Handa, present-ed him with a gift of a hand carved mere. A mere is one of the tra-ditional, close combat, one-handed weapons of the indigenous Māori of New Zealand and a symbol of chieftainship.

Getting Socialat Patton

Our Patton social club continues the challenge to have fun with our colleagues; we believe

it’s important in creating an enjoyable and cooperative environment in the workplace. It’s all about having fun, getting to know each other while play-ing interactive games and seeing people’s creativity fl ow, as well as sharing an enjoyable meal.

On Wednesday 1st April we ended our day with our fi rst social event for the year. Once again we had a fun and interactive selection of games such as egg throwing, egg and spoon race, balloon target and ended the evening with lots of concentration playing a few games of Bingo!

In line with the Cricket World Cup we started the night with the balloon target game. This took some concentration and skill and to our surprise we had a few brilliant bowlers in our midst, making the target look super easy and all the winners were reward-ed with a prize from our display of super prizes!

The egg tossing game proved to be the highlight and the most fun of all the games. Many of our contestants ended the game cov-ered in raw egg but two teams skillfully tossed their eggs great distances. The winning teams of the two games were Yogesh and Nitesh as well as Saw and Paea.

The evening ended with a healthy meal and each person leaving with a worthwhile prize of their choice. A big “thank you” to Umesh who works tirelessly to ensure the wellbeing of all staff is taken care of. We look forward to our next event where we continue to socialize and share.

Wellington Branch was badly in need of some TLC as the front of the building was looking very tired. The

paint was faded and the graphics were peeling off the sign.

It was defi nitely not show-ing the image of a dynamic and go-ahead company and branch.

So, towards the end of 2014 it was decided that the building was in need of a makeover. I provided Dio with a photo of the front of the premises, he worked his ‘magic’ and came up with

the current colour scheme and signage.

At the end of February the painting and signage were fi nally fi nished and it looks great!

Our customers have commented that the building is very much improved – it now looks smart and bright.

Tauranga Branch Manager, Harvey Win, played the drums in the orchestra for the recent Tauranga Musical Theatre production The Little Shop of Horrors.

The Little Shop of Horrors is a comedy horror rock musical, by composer Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman, about a hapless fl orist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood and fl esh. The musical is based on the low-budget 1960 black comedy fi lm The Little Shop of Horrors, direct-ed by Roger Corman. The music, composed by Menken in the style of early 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and early Motown, includes several well-known tunes, including the title song, “Skid Row (Downtown)”, “Somewhere That’s Green”, and “Suddenly, Seymour”.

Harvey has played drums ever since secondary school, and then continued performing in many bands. He is a member of a few local bands playing in diff erent gen-res – jazz, rock and folk, and most recently he played in the Tauranga Jazz Festival. This is Harvey’s second production with the Tauranga Musical Theatre, the fi rst being Chicago and he is looking forward to the future upcoming productions.

One of the major festivals of India, Holi was celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety by team Patton India in the month of March 2015. The main event of Holi is indeed a carnival of colors and is a celebration of triumph of good over evil,

a community festival and a tradition of ancient spring rites.

We, at Patton India, made arrangements in offi ce to play and celebrate Holi. Celebrations begin with Patton staff applying Gulal (colours) on each other to make their faces colorful and later on distribution of Gyjiya a type of sweet distributed during holy festival.

Entire staff enjoyed the and it was a great fun !

BIG WIN

team Patton India has proved this once again. Wow!! Big win by team! In the month of March 2015 Patton India has won a big order for supply of tool kits, instruments and safety equipment (710 Tool kits).

This order was to be supplied within very tight timelines. Our logistics team has put in their best eff orts to process this

order on time and did it successfully.

Team comprising of Sachin, Akash, Vipin and led by Abilash has left no stone unturned to get this order supplied on time. There were 67 items to be procured from various international brands to make a tool kit. Procurement of products and making these tool kits ready for dispatch was like setting up an assembly shop within our warehouse and warehouse team came out with fl ying colors. They have set an example of team work. Good job done Abilash, Sachin, Akash and Vipin. Keep it up!

Call us @ 092 6670 6670 Patton India’s Phone Number

Patton India has now provided a single phone number access to its customers across India. An easy to remember phone number (092 6670 6670) is being circulated to all customers, dealers, OEMs and

consultants to provide ease of access to Patton India.

Sumedha and Bhanu spearheaded this project and are working to make it a success.

Stickers saying “Call us @ 092 6670 6670” were pasted at business partner / dealer shops. Sumedha sent WhatsApp messages through this number and has set it as part of the digital signature on the emails of all Patton India employees.

There is a long way to go to make this single number popular among all business partners but Sumedha is striving hard to make this happen.

Business Partner Events

In the last three months the team has attended the following events organized by our business partners / dealers and represented Patton

Patton takingit all inPhilippines

In a matter of a few months of marketing, our success has been phenomenal with most of the major projects this year and the major customers turning to Patton.

The success story includes the following major customers and projects:

• Panasonic Retail – Panasonic has converted their entire workload from Danfoss to Patton Evaporators, Compressor Racks and CDU’s• Family Mart – We have already delivered 80 stores of refrigeration and have secured the exclusive contract for 5 years with approximately 10 stores per month.• Lawson Convenience Stores – We are delivering our fi rst 2 stores in April and expect to continue to deliver stores this year through Panasonic.• Alphamart Premium Stores – We have delivered our 1st Premium store as a store format test. Assuming this is successful, we expect nearly 1000 stores.• SM Super Markets – We have been awarded our fi rst 2 major supermarkets with the biggest retailer in the Philippines. We expect a further 5 more stores this year.• SM Hyper – Our bid has been successful and we are awaiting offi cial confi rmation.• SM Savemore - Our bid has been successful and we are awaiting offi cial confi rmation.

Santis Deli Manufacturing – This is the largest facility this year for industrial refrigeration and we have been successfully awarded this project in April.

The ASEAN General Manager has been performing this marketing directly and attributes Patton success to the exceptional design performance of Thailand’s Technical Manager, Mark Campbell, who has been tireless in his eff orts to produce the best products for the Philippines market. This market is exceptionally challenging given the 60Hz power supply and multiple voltages available in the Philippines.

Patton is new to the Philippines market but without doubt we have become the most successful contender in the

refrigeration market in 2015.

Patton Thailand celebrated the Songkran

Festival on 13 April. But how could

Songkran festival without Water pouring? A

Water pouring competition was held between

the staff . who was the winner? But who care?

As long as they had so much fun!

The Songkran festival (from the Sanskrit word saṃkrānti, or literally “astrological passage”) is celebrated in Thailand as the traditional New Year’s Day from 13 to 15 April. It coincides with the New Year of many calendars of South and Southeast Asia. The festive occasion is in keeping with the Buddhist/Hindu solar calendar.

The traditional water pouring is meant as a symbol of washing away all of their sins and the bad and is sometimes fi lled with fragrant herbs when celebrated in the traditional manner

After two years planning and hard work, our LinkedIn followers number has increased from 230 to 1026. LinkedIn is one the most important social media tools for a

business-to-business company like Patton.

According to a recent study of the 50,000 member strong B2B technology marketing community on LinkedIn, 85 per cent of respondents said LinkedIn is the best social network through which to spread content. In a separate study, Webbiquity found that, at 17 per cent, social media drove a majority of traffic to blogs when com-

pared to other vehicles. Moreover, of the social media networks, LinkedIn generated the most traffic, responsible for 8.5 per cent of all traffic. From weaving LinkedIn into our lead generation strategy to relying on it to increase our website traffic, there are a number of use cases for the exceedingly popular professional network-ing site. And, in many instances, LinkedIn is surpassing Facebook and Twitter in terms of its marketing potential.

Patton will continue to focus on using LinkedIn as the key social media tool alongside Google+, Twitter and YouTube.
