A Message from the Pastor:
My Friends in the Lord Jesus, We celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family today. The Holy Family is a model for all of our families. In fact, Mary, Joseph, and Jesus, the Holy Family, is a model for all of our relationships. We all live in families. However, the Christian virtues that govern our family life can also serve us in our work place, school, and among friends. Because when our focus is on the love of God and the love, care and respect of others, then we foster in our families, and promote in all relationships, the two great commandments, love God and love our neighbor as our self. In this way we radiate more effectively the light of Christmas. God became a human person so that we humans, by divine grace, might become God like in our words and actions. St. Paul in our second reading from his Letter to the Colossians sets the foundation for a Christian family. St. Paul writes “Because you are God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving one another…as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must do….let the peace of Christ control your hearts…And be thankful…And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus…” It seems that St. Paul gives us good advice for a Christ centered way to live. We can only imagine how bright the light of Christmas shines forth from us when we are clothed in these virtues. Truly, by living in this manner, we make real “peace on earth, good will toward all.” May God bless our families with a happy and holy Christmas season, and with joy, health and peace in 2020, the new year of grace. Fr. Ron

FEAST OF THE HOLY FAMILY
“See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.”
(1 JOHN 3:1) During this season of giving, let us remember the most important gift we have received – being children of God. As God’s children, it’s important that we express our love for others as well. Tell your spouse, children and other family members and friends that you love them, frequently.
