HELP
IN DISGUISE
Support the Catholic Relief Collection
Today, and help Jesus in disguise.
Christ is standing at the door of our hearts, knocking, seeking relief from the pain and suf-fering found around world. He comes to us bearing the disguise of the vulnerable refugee, the immigrant family, and the poor and margin-alized, and our faith calls us to respond. Your generosity to The Catholic Relief Services Col-lection (CRSC) helps six Catholic organizations comfort Christ, whom we find in the suffering brothers and sisters in our midst.
With your help, the Parishes Organized to Wel-come Refugees (POWR) program has orga-nized thousands of volunteers to help refugees with legal work, medical services, and language skills. The volunteers have offered friendship, warm meals, and jobs and have welcomed the newcomers into local parishes, providing a smooth transition to their new home.
When refugees come to the United States, hous-ing must be secured within a short time frame. In Portland, Oregon, this is a significant challenge, because the city has one of the highest rental oc-cupancy rates in the country. But with your support of the CRSC, Holy Trinity Parish has been able to offer a nine- bedroom home and send volunteers to welcome refugee newcomers, giving space and support during their initial adjustment, while perma-
nent housing is secured and set up. Refugees typi-cally stay in the house no more than three weeks before they move into permanent housing. Now, Holy Trinity Parish is working with other faith- based organizations to replicate this program in other Portland neighborhoods.

Admissions @ SPS THE TIGHTROPE: Reflections for Busy Catholics (podcast) Here’s a resource for religious ed parents and other adult Cath-olics in our parish to find some faith filled moments throughout the busy week. A podcast is a free, pre-recorded audio show that you can listen to on demand using your phone, laptop, or tablet. In each short episode of The Tightrope, listeners are discov-ering the ways that a busy life doesn’t have to be a distrac-tion from God—it’s their opportunity to encounter him. They are finding time to listen while waiting in school pick-up lines, doing the dishes, driving to the dry-cleaners, and during breaks at work. We invite you to listen, too, and when you do, you'll see your faith, your family, your work, and the people around you with fresh eyes. You'll remember who you are (a be-loved child of God) and where you're going (to be with him in heaven). And these two powerful truths can transform any mess into an incredible opportunity.
You can listen at AscensionPress.com, but many people opt
to listen in iTunes or download a free third-party podcast
app for their phones that lets them browse and subscribe to
their favorite shows.

Confirmation program CHOSEN.

USHER BRUNCH HONORING ALL USHERS
Sunday, June 10th 1:00 pm Church Hall.
Last weekend Friar Franck joined both our high school and EDGE youth groups. He shared a little bit about his heritage and years as a Franciscan. The kids asked him some really thought provoking questions, which helped them get to know him a little
better.
Our young people are very lucky that Friar Franck will be helping the youth ministry this summer. On his tall list of ministries he will be involved with, he is excited to share
the summer with the youth of our parish.
We wish him the best on this summer adventure!

QUESTION: HOW DOES SOCIAL SECURITY DECIDE WHETHER I AM DISABLED? ANSWER: For an adult, disability under Social Security law is based on your inability to work because of a disa-bling condition. To be considered disabled, Social Security must determine that because of one or more disabling con-ditions you are unable to do the work you did before and unable to adjust to any other work which exists in signifi-cant numbers in the national economy. Also, your disability must last or be expected to last for at least one year or to result in death. Social Security pays only for total disability. No benefits are payable for partial disability or short-term disability (less than a year).
For more information, we recommend you read "Disability Benefits," available online at www.SocialSecurity.gov/pubs
