Content Passion

• I love teaching any animal science material, except for nutrition because it doesn’t vary too much between species and it is somewhat boring.

• I enjoy teaching evolution, genetics, alternative energy sources, the formation of Earth. So, anything that is semi-controversial. I like when the kids get excited and have the opportunity to voice their opinions. We learn from each other a lot in these units.

Within your subject matter, what are you passionate about teaching? In other words, of all the topics and standards you teach as part of your curriculum, which are the ones you most enjoy?

Professional Passion

• My exit interview/final in college was all based on creating positive agents of change. I was not positively contributing to my family, community, school, or myself until I met my high school ag. Teacher. He gave me self-confidence. He let me see who I was and what potential I had by showing me he cared and pushing me to my limits. I want ALL of my kids to experience this. I want them to see how amazing they are and what impact they could have on the world.

• I love when I see the light bulb go on. • I love seeing the students stand up for what they believe in

and work tirelessly to achieve their goals.

Within your profession, but not specific to your subject matter, what are you passionate about? What is it about being an educator that drives you? What ignites a fire inside of you?

Personal Passion

• Since I teach agriculture ag can’t be a personal passion right? Well, if it can be then that is my number one passion. I believe the foundation of our existence stemmed from agriculture. I also believe our most humbling and authentic qualities comes from agricultural life.

• FFA is a huge passion of mine. Again, I think I am cheating because I am an FFA advisor but I am going to write it down anyway. FFA made me who I am today. It gave me some of the best moments of my life.

• I love rugby. I love the dedication and hard work it requires. I love the camaraderie both on and off the pitch with my team and opponents. I love the anxiety and excitement every “Engage” call elicits. The feeling of binding up with your support and smashing through a ruck is priceless. Time stands still and yet flies when in a match.

• My last passion is helping others. I will put my life on hold to do something for someone else.
