Personal Training at the Maplewood Community CenterWorking with a personal trainer has many benefits! Here are a few of the ways your personal trainer can help you:PROVIDE MOTIVATION & ACCOUNTABILITY: For some of us, one of the biggest hurdles to working out is just getting to the gym and getting going! Without anyone to hold you accountable, exercise often falls to the bottom of your to-do list. Your personal trainer will encourage you, hold you accountable for your workouts, and help you find the motivation to achieve your goals.

CREATE A SAFE WORKOUT EXPERIENCE: Working with a personal trainer gives you the added benefit of knowing that you are working out in a safe and responsible way. Your trainer will show you proper form when using free weights, cardio machines or other equipment and helps to make sure that you are not pushing yourself too far or giving up too easily. Maplewood Community Center Personal Trainers also have experience working with or around past injuries or medical conditions.

MAXIMIZE YOUR TIME: For most of us fitness is, at least to some degree, about results. You want to improve your health, improve your body, or improve your self-esteem. Let our personal trainers help you do this in the most efficient way possible by teaching you how to workout smarter, not harder. We can also help you avoid or overcome fitness plateaus by keeping your workouts fresh and challenging! Meet all of our personal trainers online at www.maplewoodcommunitycenter.com by reading their profiles! Here are a few things our members are saying about them:

Achieve your fitness goals with help from certified personal trainers! Working with a personal trainer is one of the fastest, easiest, and most successful ways to improve your health and fitness. They are dedicated to making your workout more efficient and pro-ductive, helping you overcome plateaus and find the motivation needed to go the extra mile! Are you ready to take control of your health and to begin looking, feeling and being your best? We are excited to help you!

STEP ONE - CONSULTATION & QUESTIONNAIRE: Contact us at 651.249.2207 for a free personal training consultation. During your consultation we will discuss your goals and what you hope to achieve through personal training. Your fitness questionnaire will help us learn a little bit more about your fitness level and what your goals are. Your trainer will help you determine how many sessions to start with - your “exercise prescription” so to speak!STEP TWO - PURCHASE: Stop by the customer service counter and purchase your personal training package and hand in your fitness questionnaire.STEP THREE - MATCH UP: Our Fitness Supervisor will review your questionnaire and match you with a personal trainer based on your preferences, goals, and availability, if you haven’t already identified a trainer.STEP FOUR - SCHEDULING: Once your personal trainer is selected, they will contact you to begin scheduling your first session!

Spinning® BasicsFRIDAYS, FEBRUARY 7, MARCH 7, APRIL 4, MAY 2, 6:15PM - 6:45PM

During the Spinning® Basics class, the students gain a greater understanding of the philosophy behind spinning and a greater grasp of technique. The instructor teaches proper set-up of the spin bike, an understanding

of the role of heart-rate in fitness, and a taste of a spin class. Spinning simulates hill-climbing, sprints, and even some races. It is truly a fantastic cardiovascular workout. You will be kept motivated by the instructors, the people around you, and the music. Get prepared for the workout of your life! Water and towels are a must! Maplewood's Adopt - A - Park ProgramWho?Any individual, family, resident, group organization, or business who is eager to help beautify our parks.

When?Adoption commitment period is between April 1 and October 31. However applications are taken all throughout the year. Park clean up can be done as often as you choose, but we require a minimum of once a month dedication for a minimum period of one year. After a 60 day probationary period, Maplewood Parks & Recreation will display a recognition sign for the volunteer(s) or volunteer group to be displayed at the park of their choice.

What? There are a number of services that you can provide for our parks including: picking up litter, piling up branches, raking leaves, cleaning play equipment, maintaining flowerbeds, and more! If you have any other ideas or special projects that you'd like to initi-ate, please check with the Parks and Recreation department.

Why?Maplewood is filled with wonderful and delicate natural resources which can be protected with a little attention. In addition, litter and other debris is unsightly and deflects from the natural aesthetics of our neighborhoods and beautiful parks. We would love your help maintaining our parks. If you're ready to make a difference, please call Parks & Recreation at 651.249.2120. If you have a particular park that you'd love to adopt, that's great! If not, and you would still like to help, we would be happy to find the perfect park for you. More details and Adopt - A - Park applications can be found at www.ci.maplewood.mn.us/recreation or by contacting: Maplewood Parks & Recreation 1902 County Road B East.
