GOSPEL REFLECTION…MAY 13, 2018�

GO INTO THE WORLD AND SHARE THE GOSPEL WITH SOMEONE!

There is a college campus minister who encourages the university students, who are a part of the campus ministry, to

invite other students on campus to come to Jesus Christ. They share their faith in concrete ways to fulfill Jesus’

command: “Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).�

All it takes is being willing to spend time with people, like the students who go onto campus and play video games with

others, or when they invite people to eat with them in their dining hall. The students attend sporting events and

graduation services just to be with others. The office doors of the campus ministry are open to greet people as they pass

through the halls. The ministers try to be present at campus community gatherings.�

Each of us has unique gifts for building up the Church, the Body of Christ, and sharing the gospel. When we share these

gifts, we are not standing around looking up into the sky like the disciples in today’s reading. We evangelize by living our

lives filled with the Holy Spirit. We do what we do in ways that invite people to see Jesus in us and the difference faith

can make.�

So move off your Ascension mount and look out instead of up. Become aware of the power

that the Holy Spirit has given you. Use one of your gifts to share the gospel with people you

meet. It can be a sign that a relationship with Jesus Christ and his Church can change the

world…one person at a time.�

Consider: How can you go out into the world around you this week and share the gospel?�
