We, diverse members of Holy Cross Parish, seek to build God’s kingdom on earth. United in pray-er, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and in com-munion with the Roman Catholic Church, we will serve, teach, and evangelize throughout the communi-ty. Using our time, talent and treasure, for the honor and glory of God, we strive to lead all to the ever-lasting light of Christ.

Ruega por nosotros, Madre amorosa, y obtén para nuestra na-ción, nuestro mundo, y para todas nuestras familias y seres queridos, la protección de tus santos ángeles, para que podamos salvarnos de lo peor de esta enferme-dad. Para aquellos que ya están afectados, te pedimos que les concedas la gracia de la sana-ción y la liberación. PRAYER FOR HEALING & PROTECTION Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of the Angels and Mother of the Americas. We fly to you today as your beloved children. We ask you to intercede for us with your Son, as you did at the wedding in Cana. Pray for us, loving Mother, and gain for our nation and world, and for all our families and loved ones, the protection of your holy angels, that we may be spared the worst of this illness. For those already afflicted, we ask you to obtain the grace of healing and deliverance. Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fearful, wipe away their tears and help them to trust. In this time of trial and testing, teach all of us in the Church to love one another and to be pa-tient and kind. Help us to bring the peace of Jesus to our land and to our hearts. We come to you with confidence, knowing that you truly are our compassionate mother, health of the sick and cause of our joy. Shelter us under the mantle of your protection, keep us in the embrace of your arms, help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus. Amen

May 3, 2020 4th Sunday of Easter “And Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ…” ACTS 2:38 The word “repent” means to turn from sin, to change our actions. Change that is permanent comes from within. It requires prayer, discipline and perseverance. Change is also hard. We have to recognize that we are broken and need help. The good news - we are not alone in our journey. Ask Jesus daily for guidance and patiently listen for his response. 4to Domingo de Pascua "Y Pedro les dijo:" Arrepiéntanse y háganse bautizar, cada uno de ustedes, en el Nombre de Jesucristo ...” HECHOS 2:38 La palabra "arrepentirse" significa apartarse del pecado, cambiar nuestras acciones. El cambio que es permanente viene de adentro. Requiere oración, disciplina y perseverancia. El cambio también es difícil. Tenemos que reconocer que estamos rotos y que necesitamos ayuda. La buena noticia es que no estamos solos en nuestro viaje. Pídale a Jesús diariamente orientación y escuche pacientemente su respuesta.

Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine. (Proverbs 3, 9-10) We are a parish family and together we thank God for all the support He has given us. Our first fruits have produced an amazing facility in which we can spread God’s word and evange-lize through our ministries. Now is the time to consider renewing our commitment and making a pledge for 3 more years. If you have not made a pledge, please do so. Please use our website to give through your bank account, credit card or check. If you wish to make a pledge on paper, we will also welcome them in the offertory basket or in the office. These additional pledges and donations totaled $499,742 since September 1, 2019. May God continue to bless your heart and your family.

My beloved Parishioners of Holy Cross,

We have received wonderful news from our Bishop. He has asked us resume the weekend masses with many

restrictions. Following are the details:

• The Number of people at each mass will be limited to 140.

• Everyone must wear a mask or scarf; this includes ushers, lectors and Eucharistic Ministers.

• Keep social distancing while you take your seats at the pew. The usher will assist you.

• Communion will be distributed only in the hands.
