This area of the brain benefits greatly from environmental stimulation

Temporal lobe Located near the temples Controls hearing, some aspects of language

and smell Is involved in our memory

Occipital lobe Least developed sense at birth Controls vision and visual recognition By 8 months old should see as well as an

adult

Frontal lobe (executive)

Reads body language, social cues It is a decision maker Critical part of the brain for learning and

emotional literacy Involves thinking, planning, concentrating,

problem solving and making judgements.

Back 3 lobes are physical Frontal lobe is emotional Sensory information is needed Information about what is going on both

within the body and in the outside world (5 senses) and then sending messages to the body to tell us what to do
