MATHThe sixth grade math teachers are looking forward to an exciting year of learning! This quarter, we will be learning about decimals and fractions. To help your student be successful, have them study their multiplication and division facts.

Seventh Grade math have been exploring real life situations dealing with positive and negative numbers. They are now making connections with rational numbers like fractions and decimals.

8th grade students have been working hard learning all about volume and surface area and how they would use it in class. Mr. Thacker’s students did an awesome project recreating a can of Coke using the volume. After finishing volume and surface area we reviewed fractions and integers. We look forward to a great 8th grade year.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENTWe just completed their pre-fitness testing which includes Mile run, pacers, curl ups, push ups, flexibility and their B.M.I.( Body Mass Index). The students then had to write a 3 paragraph essay about their results compared to the standards for their age.

Students also had to come up with a fitness plan to improve or maintain their fitness results. First quarter sports include: Soccer, basketball, tennis and volleyball.
