2011-2013 Rule Changes• Summary

– Complete Details can be found on http://www.usahockey.com/ & AHAI.org

• USA HOCKEY – BODY CHECKING RULE CHANGE– The rule change, in accordance to ADM, will promote and teach body contact starting at

the Mite level with increasing values from Squirt to Peewee, but moves the age of legal body checking in games from Peewee-12U to Bantam -14U, effective immediately.

– The important objective of this proposal is Safety

– Examples of Body contact; Competing at the puck, angling to gain possession, or stopping an offensive attack.

– Elimination of the “Big Hit” in Peewees where players ignore the puck and try to ‘blow up’ an opponent.

• Delayed Off-Sides– Bantam /U14 and up

Mandatory Code of Conduct Forms

Review the Code of Conduct forms and the rules with your player and make sure they are fully aware as there is no such excuse as, “I didn’t know”:

Players and parents sign the Player forms, parents sign the parent forms and turn them in to your Mgr or Coach. Players are not allowed in the ice without these forms completed

Copies of Parent Code of Conduct forms will always be with team managers and may be used, if necessary to remind participants of the terms they agreed to as being a part of the Bruins organization.
