Tier 1-How Can I Help?

• Set the stage for learning• Talk to your child about their day• Ensure your child completes their homework

each day in a quiet location• Encourage your child to read each day• Actively communicate your concerns with

your child’s teacher• Attend conferences and meetings

Additional Time and Support

• Tier 2– 30 extra minutes during the day K-6– Intervention classes 7-8– Before and/or after school classes

Tier 2-How Can I Help?

• Contact your child’s teacher for a meeting to discuss their progress

• Ask about the site intervention or student study team and make an appointment to discuss your concerns

• When we notify you of a before or after school class, make sure your child attends as this critical in their success

• 4th-8th Language! Class• Smaller groups/Individual support in

phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, and/or reading comprehension K-6

How Can I Help?

• Know your child’s Language! teacher• Attend additional parent conferences with the
