The LUMIX Award celebrates excellence indigital photography. Established in 2002, itshowcases the unique creativity associatedwith digital photography no longer boundby constraints of film cameras.Each year the competition centres on adifferent creative theme.

This year Panasonic asks participants to visualise music. Music being the

poetry of sound, is not only the sound of an instrument, it can be the sound

of everyday life: the humming of the refrigerator, the whistling of the

kettle or the sound of the wind whipping through laundry hanging outside

on a clothes line.

The LUMIX Award participants turn their photographic eye to the music in their

life and share their impression of the theme Visualise music.

The overall winner of the competition will go to the popular Blue Man Group show.

Additionally, the grand prize winner will receive a LUMIX DMC-GF1 digital camera.

This versatile camera offers a D-SLR-size

sensor, an innovative and fast auto-focus

system and the option of an outstanding

20mm F1.7 super-bright pancake lens.
