Jason Graham farms in Cloughjordan, which is about 10 miles from Nenagh, Co.Tipperary. The land is mainly dry, which allows Jason early turnout to grass in the spring, and also

extends the grazing season at the back end of the year.

Jasons breed of choice is HEX cattle due to their docility, early maturing and the fact that he only has to supplement with concentrates in the last few week before slaughter. His farm system is mainly calf to beef and store to beef. Jason is a member of Irish Hereford Prime for

a number of years and is very happy with the support and bonus he receives on his cattle.

Ivor and Joe DeverellBallyaville, Geashill, Co. Offaly

Offaly is part of Irelands great central pasture belt. It is here that uncle and nephew Joe and Ivor Deverell jointly farm Ballyaville, near Tullamore, Co. Offaly. Two thirds of the farm is under grass with a further third under tillage. The Deverells also operate a farm shop in Tullamore, which sells some of the farms Hereford beef, among other products, to a very loyal and discerning local audience. Between them, the two men run a herd of 130 Hereford cows, which is split between commercial animals and pedigree registered cows. They are bred to the four pedigree Hereford bulls on the farm. The Deverells continue a proud family tradition in their daily work. Ivors father was the founding member of the Irish Hereford Prime Beef Producer Group while the majority of the cows on the farm today can be traced back to two pedigree Hereford cows his grandparents received as a wedding gift more than 70 years ago.

Con took over the running of his family farmover 30 years ago which is nestled in the hills above Ballyjamesduff less than 15km from McCarrens Plant. The farm consisted of 60 sows when they started. Over the last 30 years the business has expanded to 600 sows producing 290 pigs per week. The farmprovides employment to 4 local people and also contributes greatly to the local economyby using local services and businesses wherever possible. Cons children (pictured above) have inherited their fathers passion for producing the finest quality pigs.

In 1983, Luke and Helen Bogue started pig rearing on their farm situated in the remote drumlin landscape of Ballineagh Co Cavan. As their family grew their farm grew with it. Tournafulla Puddings started 30 years ago using an old family recipe. After an initial start as a part time project the Brouders soon realised that there was a strong commercial demand for a quality homemade black pudding. In 1984 they started working full time supplying black pudding to shops and butchers in West Limerick and North Kerry. They now employ 6 people preparing their puddings for distribution.
