CALENDAR TERM 3 PRINCIPAL’S NEWS Welcome back to another busy term of learning, I hope you all
enjoyed a safe, restful break and kept warm! Welcome back to Ms
Thomson who will be teaching 1H. Welcome to Star Club who have
commenced the Pagewood OSHC service today. It was great to be
able to provide holiday care for our students on site at Pagewood
Public School.
Staff were engaged in professional learning today including the new
School Planning process; implementing the Personal Development,
Health and Physical Education syllabus; STEM (Science, Technology,
Engineering and Mathematics) teaching and learning; Classroom
Management and the introduction of consistent book work
procedures for students K-6. There was also a Staff Wellbeing
Challenge with prizes, I’m not telling who the winners were!
As you would be aware the border between NSW and Victoria closed as of 12:01am 8 July 2020. All students who have been in Victoria in the last 14 days before the commencement of school must not attend school until they complete the 14 days self-isolation period since they left Victoria.
NSW Health has requested anyone who has been in Victoria and is unwell or has flu-like symptoms arrange to be tested through their local medical practitioner or one of the COVID-19 clinics.
Students who are unable to return to school due to the border closures or self-isolation will be supported to learn remotely. Please contact me at school if your child will be absent from school for this reason.
We would like to remind our community the most important action you can take is to practise good hand hygiene and physical distancing. Our school will be vigilant in implementing these requirements to minimise the risk at school. It is vital that we maintain social distancing and good hand hygiene in our school so that we can continue to provide this essential service of educating our students on site. This term will see some school programs resume, namely:
Uniform shop open onsite – fortnightly on Wednesdays from Week 1
• Scripture teachers return

PREMIER’S SPORTING CHALLENGE
This term, our school has registered to participate in the 10
week Premier’s Sporting Challenge. The purpose of the challenge is
to encourage students to be "more active, more
often". The teachers will be promoting physical exercise and
monitoring the students' physical activity during school hours.
Students in years 3-6 will receive a log book to enter their own
physical activity minutes. Students in years K-2 will not need to log
any information as teachers will monitor their activity. At the end of
the year, students will receive a certificate from the Premier of New
South Wales. We would appreciate your support in encouraging your

activity time commitment reflects the award level for the 10 week challenge. If you are looking for some ideas to
stay active at home, please visit https://app.education.nsw.gov.au/sport/participation/getactive
