We ask parents and carers to observe the 1.5 metre rule and depart the school grounds promptly in the morning and afternoon. A reminder that drop off and pick up is not the time to engage teachers in lengthy discussions about your child. If you need to communicate something to your child’s teacher please email the school at [email protected] and it will be forwarded to them. Your co-operation in this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you to our P&C for organising a Clean Up Australia Day at our school yesterday. Our school grounds look spectacular and we really do appreciate all of your hard work. Our Kindergarten students have been hard at work responding to books read to them, writing about their ideas and illustrating their work. Fabulous! Last week I read to all classes a book about being brave and trying new things. It is one of the most enjoyable parts of my work. We read Jetty Jumping by Andrea Rowe and illustrated by Hannah Sommerville. Ask your child about the book! CURRENT SCHOOLS’ GUIDELINES FOR VISITORS AND THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY There has been an easing of restrictions in NSW schools. Visitors including parents/carers are welcome in our schools and at activities offsite when following the COVID-19 requirements for visitors. For us here at PPS this means parents and carers may enter school grounds to drop off and pick up their child/ren. You do NOT need to sign in with the QR code or at the office unless attending a meeting. We ask parents to observe the 1.5metre rule and depart the school grounds promptly in the morning and afternoon. Please discuss with your child/ren where you will meet them or want them to walk to after school. K-2 teachers will be waiting with students outside their respective classrooms, they will not be walking to the gates. You may enter and exit through any gate. All gates will be open from 8:00am-9:30am. In the afternoon the office entrance gate and Page St gates will be open from 3:00pm-6:00pm, Kiss and Ride will be open from 3:00pm-3:25pm. If you have been unwell or have cold or flu symptoms please do not visit the school.

Regarding PSSA sport parent and carer attendance please observe the 1.5metre rule. There are no changes to the original SEPSSA swimming carnival arrangements at this stage, we will keep parents updated.

STUDENT ILLNESS

Students with cold or flu-like symptoms will still need to be tested for COVID and return a negative test result to the school by email before they can return to school. If parents or carers are unwell we ask that you do not visit the school. Thank you.

PICKING UP STUDENTS DURING RECESS OR LUNCH If parents or carers need to collect their child during recess or lunch it is difficult to find children in the playground. Therefore could you please send an email to the teacher or school and arrange for them to be at the office when the lunch bell goes and wait for parents to arrive. A Reminder about times: Recess – 11.00-11.25am Lunch – 1.00pm-1.50pm STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT

Your child’s Statement of Account is now overdue. Please contact Ms Mayhew in confidence for any assistance or

payment plan. To pay your child’s ‘Statement of Account’, it is helpful to the school if parents and carers use the Parent

Online Payment (POP) system. This is our preferred method of payment and reduces the amount of cash being handled

at school by students and staff. To pay by POP, please go to the Pagewood Public School website at

http://www.pagewood-p.schools.nsw.edu.au and select ‘Make a payment’ at the top of the page. Parents and carers

are welcome to pay for two or more children in one payment. Please note that this facility is to pay for expenses on

your Statement of Account only, it cannot be used to pay for the Canteen or P&C costs such as Uniforms or fundraising.

Payment instructions are on page 5. When paying by POP you must enter:

• Student’s first name

• Student’s surname

• class

• Please tick what you are paying for (eg. voluntary contribution, sport, excursion, other, etc)

secure manner. These details are not passed back to the school. If you wish to pay by cash, please send cash payments

to your child’s teacher on Monday only.

PPS P&C (Parents and Citizens) News

The P&C Annual General Meeting (AGM) and March meeting were held last Monday and it was such a

treat to meet in person! We had a great turn-out of Mums and Dads, from families new to the school and

those who have been at Pagewood for many years.

One topic of discussion was ways we can fundraise this year for the benefit of our students. There were so

many fun, clever and creative ideas, several of which small groups of parents are starting to work on

together. We look forward to sharing these initiatives with you over the year to come!

The P&C always welcomes your questions and suggestions – send us on email on
