"Face-to-face Networking is the secret to effective one-on-one marketing," Chris van Biljon, Founder of the Ekurhuleni Business Initiative (EBI), facilitates and provides a platform for business members to meet other business owners and managers in their area to seal business transactions that otherwise may be lost to traders outside the region. We believe that networking increases business revenue and therefore have launched the West Rand, Sandton, Randburg, Krugersdorp and Westonaria Branches. The EBI also has branches all over the country, such as Bloemfontein and Nelspruit to name a couple. Winnie Soekoe is the Principal for the West Rand, Randburg and Sandton areas. Winnie joined the initiatives of the EBI in July 2009, looking to broaden her other business that she markets, Winnie saw the opportunity to launch the EBI on the West Rand and has had great success since the first launch. The EBI is a business-to-business network organisation and we give our members a platform to network and do business with each other at regular meetings. We add value by offering specialised services to our members, for example business optimisation support, our EBI academy and so on, as well as linking small- medium-to large businesses to do business with each other at our network meetings. The Ekurhuleni Business Initiative is there to create enthusiasm, foster a proactive attitude and provide positive, dynamic business-to-business linkages. It links small and medium sized businesses with corporates. This is a time when decentralization and unbundling are the realities of our business world. A return to the community and interdependence are concepts long forgotten, but crucial to the survival of our businesses and our society at this point in time.
