JOYCE ANN LYNCH BANDY Joyce Ann Lynch Bandy, 76, Be- wleyville, Ky., died May 11, 2015 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital in Hardinsburg, Ky. She was born in Custer, Ky. on April 1, 1939, the daughter of the late Luther and Goldie Mae Bennett Lynch. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Buel Lynch, Mitch- ell Lynch, Kenneth Lynch, Calvin Lynch, Hansel Lynch, Leota Cissell and Kathleen Poole. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jimmy Bandy, Bewleyville; two children, Tim (Cindy) Bandy, Hardinsburg, Ky., Sandra (Mike) Chedwick, Deca- tur, Ga.; two sisters, Jewel Cundiff and Janice Chap- pell, Louisville, Ky.; two grandchildren, Lauren (Bryan) Moore, Lexington, Ky., Zach Bandy, Hardinsburg; one great granddaughter: Hunter Moore, Lexington, and Moore’s baby sister to arrive late this summer; three step great-grandsons, Jackson, Will and Clay Moore, Lexing- ton and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Bewleyville United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and a faithful and dedicated Sunday school and bible school teacher. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading and spending time with her grandchildren being Mamaw Bandy. She helped her mother and father-in- law operate E.C. Memorial contributions are suggested to: Bewleyville United Methodist Church. MICHAEL WAYNE BRAY Michael Wayne Bray, 55, Rhodelia, Ky., died May 12, 2015, at Harrison County Hospital, Corydon, Ind. He is survived by his wife, Angela Bray, Rhodelia, Ky.; his mother, Gustava Bray, Brandenburg, Ky.; his brother, James Bray, London, Ky.; his nephew, Jamie; and his niece, Amber. He was a full-time paramedic having worked for Fort Knox EMS, Rural Metro EMS, and Meade County EMS. While serving at his chosen profession, he at- tained numerous performance awards, time off awards, and as recently as 2014, a Special Act or Service Award. Mike was and instructor in CPR, ACLS, and Pediat- ric Advanced Life Support. He also holds accreditation in the National Registry of Paramedics, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support and holds a Kentucky Paramedic License. Mike was also on staff at the Harmony Nature Sanctuary. A gathering of friends celebrating his life and sharing numerous stories was on May 18 at the St. John Church Gymnasium, 515 Broadway, Brandenburg, KY 40108. A memorial service immediately followed. He is survived by a son, Levi Ritchie; his father, James (Geri) Ritchie; his mother, Lindsey (Jer- emy) McKenzie; two brothers, Ben and Michael Ritchie; one sister, Shelby McKenzie; two step sisters, Karyssa and Alyson Foutch; paternal grandparents, Martin and Hazel Ritchie; maternal grandparents, Christy Hunt, Ray Myers; and a host of family and friends. He was born to the late Lester W. and Geraldine Kellems Romines, Battletown, Ky. on May 2, 1951. He will be missed by his fuzzy friends, Jack and Loki. He retired from General Electric and was a Vietnam Army Veteran. THELMA JOAN ROBINSON elma Joan “Joanie” Harrison Robin- son died May 7, 2015 in Edgewood, Ky. at the age of 59. She was born Aug. 31, 1955 in Meade Co., Ky. She was the daughter of the late Ellis Glen and Viola Kendall Harrison. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lou Fox. In addition to her husband of 30 years, she is survived by a son, Michael (Deborah), Burlington, Ky.; three daughters, Kimberly (Alfred) Davis, Richfield, Oh., Judy (Frank) Fee, Florence, Ky., and Jessica (Steve) Hill, Burlington; five sisters, Della Ramsey, Branden- burg, Ky., Jeanie Fornash, Brandenburg, Betty Jarboe, Hardinsburg, Ky., Sue Newberry, Lafayette, Tn., and Maye White, Corbin, Ky.; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Joanie was a Restaurant Manager and a crafter. She also loved gardening, flowers, and animals of all kinds. At the time of her death, Joanie remained a member of the Sherman Full Gospel Assembly Church of God. On Sept. 15, 1984, Joanie was united in marriage to Glenn V. Robinson. Funeral Services were May 11 at Elliston-Stanley Fu- neral Home, in Williamstown Ky., with burial following in Williamstown Cemetery. VERNON RAY WILLIAMS Vernon Ray William, 76, of Central, Ind., died May 11, 2015 at his home near Central. He was born Dec. 31, 1938, in Middlesboro, Ky., to the late Tom and Stella Townsend Williams. He was preceeded in death by his parents; his son, Mark Randall Williams; and his brothers, Kenneth and Herman Williams. Survivors include his daughters, Laura Rose Wil- liams, Central, and Leslie Paige Williams, Mauckport, Indiana; his adopted son, Kevin Lee Albin of Corydon, Ind.; his longtime friend, Norma Solinger of Branden- burg, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Tommy Kintner, Tyler and Trent Williams, Brandy Williams-Ayers, Joey Leslie Kintner Teel, Josey Danielle Kintner Reas, Ashley Houser, Cory Williams Clark, Kenny Bradford, Mark Randall Williams, Jr. and Tiffany Joyce Williams; and seven great-grandchildren. He was a former employee of the Harrison County Garage, the Louisville Sand and Gravel Company, Uhl’s Truck Sales, Harrison County Community Services, and was a former milk truck driver before retiring from his concrete business, WW Builders, to take care of his mother. Ray graduated from the Purdue University Agricultural Short Course, was a founding member of the Southern Indiana Foxtrotter’s Club, and was a cur- rent member of the New Amsterdam United Methodist Church and the Blue River Saddle Club, and was a cur- rent member of the Meade County Senior Citizens Cen- ter in Brandenburg, where he loved going to the “Tuesday Dance” and visiting with his many friends. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing, hunting, trapping, horseback riding and dancing. Funeral services were held May 16. Burial followed at the New Amsterdam Cemetery. DAVID MORTON WHEELER David Morton Wheeler, 83, Radcliff, Ky., died May 3, 2015 at North Hardin Health and Rehabilitation Center, Radcliff, Ky. He was preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Mary Magdalen Wheeler; and a brother, Asa “Bud” Wheeler Jr. He is survived by a special friend, Mary Burroughs and her family. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the United States Navy. He was a 32nd Degree member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry and the Loyal Order of Moose, Brandenburg, Ky. ROSEMARY YEAGER Rosemary Yeager, 60, Breckinridge Coun- ty Ky., died May 15, 2015 at her residence in Louisville, Ky. She was born on Dec. 20, 1954 in Lou- isville, to Seward Lee Yeager and Ellen Au- gusta Sanders Yeager. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Alzona Yeager, and her brother, Roy Yeager. She is survived by her two daughters; Lisa Glasscock, Stephensport, Ky. and Tracy Blakely, Louisville; three sisters, Margaret Carmickle, Laconia, Ind., LeeAnna (Bill) Mc- Intyre, Westview, Ky., Rebecca (James) Sharp, Garrett, Ky.; one brother Ronnie (Violet) Yeager, Cannelton, Ind.; four grandchil- dren, Gabrielle Jones, Lindsey Glasscock, Kayla Jones and Jas- mine Blakely; and one great-grandson Trevor. Collecting large amounts of taxes was the way the Romans kept control over their people. As you can imag- ine tax collectors were not very popular members of the com- munity. When Jesus joined Levi one evening with the others like him, the religious lead- ers known as the Pharisees and Scribes were outraged at this act. When Jesus was questioned about his choice of dinner guest we all remem- Minister’s Corner ber his very famous response, which was: “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Jesus was a constant teacher, always looking for ways to change hearts and minds. It worked in Levi’s case; he later became Matthew, one of the chosen twelve apostles. It is a teaching moment for us too. Jesus is always chal- lenging each of us to follow him; maybe not to the extent of Matthew, who gave up all his possessions and his life as a martyr; but to do little things that impact the lives of others and in so doing changing our hearts and minds. Blessed Mother eresa followed Jesus that way. She did little things with great love. May that be our challenge this next week; do little things with great love. Vernon Ray William, 76, of Central, Ind., died May 11, 2015 at his home near Central. He was born Dec. 31, 1938, in Middlesboro, Ky., to the late Tom and Stella Townsend Williams.

He was preceeded in death by his parents; his son, Mark Randall Williams; and his brothers, Kenneth and Herman Williams.

Survivors include his daughters, Laura Rose Wil-liams, Central, and Leslie Paige Williams, Mauckport, Indiana; his adopted son, Kevin Lee Albin of Corydon, Ind.; his longtime friend, Norma Solinger of Branden-burg, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Tommy Kintner, Tyler and Trent Williams, Brandy Williams-Ayers, Joey Leslie Kintner Teel, Josey Danielle Kintner Reas, Ashley Houser, Cory Williams Clark, Kenny Bradford, Mark Randall Williams, Jr. and Tiffany Joyce Williams; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was a former employee of the Harrison County Garage, the Louisville Sand and Gravel Company, Uhl’s Truck Sales, Harrison County Community Services, and was a former milk truck driver before retiring from his concrete business, WW Builders, to take care of his mother. Ray graduated from the Purdue University Agricultural Short Course, was a founding member of the Southern Indiana Foxtrotter’s Club, and was a cur-rent member of the New Amsterdam United Methodist Church and the Blue River Saddle Club, and was a cur-rent member of the Meade County Senior Citizens Cen-ter in Brandenburg, where he loved going to the “Tuesday Dance” and visiting with his many friends. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing, hunting, trapping, horseback riding and dancing.

Funeral services were held May 16. Burial followed at the New Amsterdam Cemetery.

David Morton Wheeler, 83, Radcliff, Ky., died May 3, 2015 at North Hardin Health and Rehabilitation Center, Radcliff, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Mary Magdalen Wheeler; and a brother, Asa “Bud” Wheeler Jr.

He is survived by a special friend, Mary Burroughs and her family.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the United States Navy. He was a 32nd Degree member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry and the Loyal Order of Moose, Brandenburg, Ky.

Rosemary Yeager, 60, Breckinridge Coun-ty Ky., died May 15, 2015 at her residence in Louisville, Ky.

She was born on Dec. 20, 1954 in Lou-isville, to Seward Lee Yeager and Ellen Au-gusta Sanders Yeager.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Alzona Yeager, and her brother, Roy Yeager.

She is survived by her two daughters; Lisa Glasscock, Stephensport, Ky. and Tracy Blakely, Louisville; three sisters, Margaret Carmickle, Laconia, Ind., LeeAnna (Bill) Mc-Intyre, Westview, Ky., Rebecca (James) Sharp, Garrett, Ky.; one brother Ronnie (Violet) Yeager, Cannelton, Ind.; four grandchil-dren, Gabrielle Jones, Lindsey Glasscock, Kayla Jones and Jas-mine Blakely; and one great-grandson Trevor.

Funeral services were held May 18 at the Chapel of the Bru-ington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home. Burial will be held at a later date in New Clover Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

In Luke’s Gospel chapter five we are introduced to Levi, a tax collector for the Roman Empire. Collecting large amounts of taxes was the way the Romans kept control over their people. As you can imag-ine tax collectors were not very popular members of the com-munity.

When Jesus joined Levi one evening with the others like him, the religious lead-ers known as the Pharisees and Scribes were outraged at this act. When Jesus was questioned about his choice of dinner guest we all remem-

Minister’s Corner ber his very famous response, which was: “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

Jesus was a constant teacher, always looking for ways to change hearts and minds. It worked in Levi’s case; he later became Matthew, one of the chosen twelve apostles.

It is a teaching moment for us too. Jesus is always chal-lenging each of us to follow him; maybe not to the extent of Matthew, who gave up all his possessions and his life as a martyr; but to do little things that impact the lives of others and in so doing changing our hearts and minds. Blessed Mother Theresa followed Jesus that way. She did little things with great love.

May that be our challenge this next week; do little things with great love.
