Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at Wilkir- son-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Grant Kaul officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, at Wilkirson-Hatch- Bailey Garden Room. William was born April 23, 1959, in Trenton, N.J., to Charles Kenneth and Nancy Juanita McDonald. William’s family moved many times to small Texas towns, but he called Brady home, where he lived since the age of eight. William attended Southwest Texas State University major- ing in finance. He started work- ing in banking upon graduation in 1981 and has worked in the banking-related industry ever since, most recently with FirstCity Financial. He met Kathy Carson in Austin through a mutual friend. While dating they found out that William had actually lived in Kathy’s father’s childhood home in Brady. Ironically two Texas kids with Brady ties had to meet through a friend from North Dakota. The couple married in 1992 and started a family soon after. A loving husband and father, William was very gracious with his children. He was a patient homework helper editing pa- pers, even at the last minute, and helping to figure out alge- bra and calculus problems. He was always quick to remind his children of God’s love and forgiveness even when they stumbled. For three years, William bravely fought cancer with the help of Dr. Carl Chakmakjian. He never once complained through treatment or pain but continued to press forward and trust God’s faithfulness even to his last day on this earth. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Kathy McDonald, of Waco, TX; his daughter, Allie McDonald; his son, Carson Mc- Donald; one brother, Charles McDonald; three sisters, Nancy Nelson, Dorinda McDonald and Kate McDonald; one niece, Sunny Nelson; one nephew, Wilson McDonald; and numer- ous cousins and in-laws. Pallbearers are Charles McDonald, Carson McDon- ald, Wilson McDonald, Andy Carson, Jay Boatright, Mark Freeland, Frank Piekos and David Leitch. Memorials may be made to Fellowship Bible Church. WILLIAM MCDONALD Ovella Lindsey, 101 Ovella Marie Lindsey, age 101, of Brady, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016, in Brady. She was born Aug. 30, 1914, in Bandera, to Thomas Edward Cate and Maude Vir- ginia (Holt) Cate. She married James W. “Bill” Lindsey on Aug. 24, 1935, in Johnson City. She was a nurse’s aid for many years working at the Fort Stockton Hospital and the Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital in Brady. She moved to Brady in 1965. She was a mem- ber of the Southside Church of Christ in Brady. She was a big baseball fan and enjoyed gardening, even mowing her own yard until the age of 94. Graveside services for Ovel- la Marie Lindsey were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, at the Wingate Cemetery in Wing- ate. The family received friends Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Leatherwood Memo- rial Chapels in Brady. The 23 little girls and boys will furnish the best entertain- ment of the night if all goes true to form. The awkward bows and curtsies and the uncertainess of the little ones will swell the parents’ and grandparents’ hearts with pride. The annual event sponsored by the local Beta Sigma Phi sorority is scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Bulldog Stadium. The theme of the 1975 pro- gram will be “The Fifties,” and all entertainment and decora- tions will be oriented. of Waco passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Providence Hospice Place.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at Wilkir-son-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Grant Kaul officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room.
