Dear Rotarians,

I welcome you into another week of fellowship. Let us continue with the challenge to invite prospective

members to the club. I encourage all members to key into all activities listed by the membership committee

to achieve the membership goal set by the club.

Last weekend the club held her 14th president induction ceremony and fund raising for 2015-16 community

service projects. Fellow Rotarians, I am indeed very happy for your show of love during the planning and

execution of the ceremony. I couldn’t have asked for the better year to be president. You honoured me. I had

a member telling me this is the first time they will see much support from fellow hope members at our yearly

induction ceremony. We really must keep this up. I am blessed to be one of you. Thank you so very much. I

appreciate you a whole lot. Great world class Rotarians, Great world class Rotarians! Did I hear someone

say, YES WE CAN?

Let us continue to BE A GIFT.

ROTARY DISTRICT NEWS AND INFORMATION

Akpos Joke: Wedding Reception Drama Akpos attended a wedding. After the wedding the reception was a gathering of about 30 people. He sat at the front seat. Then a lady started sharing food. She started from the back and unfortunately, it didn’t reach those at the front. When her friends started sharing drinks, they started from the front but unfortunately, Akpos had already changed his seat to the back. Again, the drink didn’t reach him. Akpos was so furious that he stood up to take his leave, but then he saw three ladies each with a big bowl. This time, he tried to be wise by seating in the middle. To his uttermost surprise, one of the ladies started sharing from the front while the second lady started distributing from the back. It was turkey meat. When it got to the middle where he was seated it got finished again. Feeling so frustrated, Akpos bent his head, not looking at any face….. But then the third lady tapped him and stretched her bowl that he should pick... He stretched his hand… Guess what was in the bowl? **TOOTHPICK.**

K.R. "Ravi" Ravindran President 2015-16

Be a Gift to the World through the Ave-

nues of Service

RI President K.R. Ravindran challenges us

to use our gifts — talents, knowledge, abilities, and efforts — to

make an impact through our service, the backbone of club activ-

ity. Through our network, we have access to many resources

that enable us to plan and carry out effective, sustainable pro-

jects. Here are a few examples of service activities with ongoing

impact:

The Rotary Club of Udaipur Udai, Rajasthan, India,

partnered with a cooperating organization to pro-

vide computer literacy classes for older residents.

Members of the Rotaract Club of Aishwarya volun-

teered as teachers for the training, which covered

topics including scheduling appointments, making

reservations, and paying bills online. The Rotary

club members provide continuing consultation for

participants after they complete the classes.

The Rotary Club of Santurce, Puerto Rico, collaborated

on a Rotary Friendship Exchange with the Rotary

Club of Port of Spain West, Trinidad and Tobago, to

build fellowship and friendship and to explore in-

ternational service opportunities. The group from

Puerto Rico visited several projects in Trinidad,

engaged in fellowship, and met members of

the Interact club and the Rotary Community

Corps sponsored by the Port of Spain West

Rotary club. The Puerto Rican Rotary mem-

bers will host their new friends from Trinidad

and Tobago later this year. TO BE CONTINUE

12 Effective Time Management Tips

Understanding what time mean to you is a key factor that you can use to make your day productive. This issue has being spoken about by many professionals who share their person-al opinion in the way they see it helpful to them. Frankly speaking, I have come to understand that they all have vital point that I believe can be helpful to those who apply them. One thing we must know about this time management issue, is that we all have different schedule to our different type of jobs. What may work for one person may not work for anoth-er person. So knowing how your work and life pattern func-tion is another key point to take note. For example; a person who works in an office from 8:00am – 5:00pm may not under-go the kind of stress a person who works an eight hour shift work. Another thing I discover is the issue of clock time and real time. Clock time is a result of the activities planned in alignment to the time of our watch. Real time is the amount of daily activities we get involved that actually define our level of productivity. The truth is that we can’t actually live in clock time because life is unpredictable, especially for people who are engaged in multiple tasks daily. We can only define our level of productivity but the amount of task we accomplish successfully each day, not by the number of things we do each hour. When planning a time management schedule we should have it in mind that we are looking forward to be pro-ductive in the number of task we desire to achieve. These are some time management tips you can use or at least add to your own.Make sure to plan your day, by taking at least 30 minutes first thing when you wake up.

1. Endeavour to make a to-do list of the things you want to achieve for that day. 2. You should be able to set your daily task in a priority list, from most important to least important. This will help you to determine what will be more productive to the daily goal. 3. Ensure to eliminate distraction as they arise during the day. This will help you to stay focus on what is important. 4.Avoid doing multiple tasks at the same time, this will make you disorganize and achieve nothing at the end of the day. This kind of activity is seen in an office environment (mostly office secretary), where tasks is constantly flowing from different angles. 5. At times of work overload try to take a break and relax or get into other non-working activity. 6. Try to take note of the activities that make you more productive and focus on applying those methods regularly. This will help you to increase your productivity rate daily. 7.As your day progresses try to work on the most productive goals that are at the top of your list. By doing this you will be guaranteed a day of great accomplishment. 8. Endeavour to set time out for recreational activity or relaxation moment, where you will need to refresh yourself before plunging back to your tasks. TO BE CONTINUE
