When you have finished, colour in your snake. Watch the ‘Big number song’ video (on Seesaw). Use the ‘Number of the day’ template (attached) to show the number 317. Upload a photo of your work or complete it on Seesaw. Using the snakes and ladders template (attached) play a game of snakes and ladders with an adult. Remember when you land on the snake’s head then you must slide down. If you land at the bottom of a ladder you need to climb up. Complete the snake patterns worksheet (attached). Use the rule to complete the patterns. Paper Plate Snake Make a ‘Paper Plate Snake’. Using the instruction (attached) make your very own paper plate snake using different colours. Paper Plate Snake

● Make a ‘Paper Plate Snake’. Using

the instruction (attached) make

your very own paper plate snake

using different colours.

Note: If you don’t have the

materials listed, you can use

whatever you like to make your

snake.

Paper plate snake:

You will need a rolling pin, paper plate, green paint, bubble wrap, scissors, 2 googly eyes,ribbon, and glue.

First off, go into your kitchen and grab your wonderful rolling pin. This is going to make thecoolest painting tool ever! Wrap a piece of bubble wrap around the pin and tape it. Squirt twoshades of green on a flat surface and have your kids dip the whole thing into it.

Then have your kids roll it all over the paper plate almost covering the whole thing.

Let it dry for about 20 minutes and start cutting a spiral shape into the plate. Leave arounded "head" at the end of the spiral.

Glue on two googly eyes, any size you want and cut a ribbon about 1-2 inches long. You're thengoing to cut a piece off the end to make it look like a snake's tongue.

● Watch ‘Syllable Smash’ (on Seesaw).

● Tell an adult how many syllables can you hear

in the word possum, magic and lamington?

● Think of some words with 1 syllable, 2

syllables and 3 syllables.

● Complete the ‘Syllable Zoo’ worksheet

(attached) in your book or in Seesaw. Divide

each word into syllables and then write the

number of syllables in the next column.

● Listen to the book ‘Possum Magic’ (on

Seesaw).

● What was the smallest animal in the book?

What animal does NOT have legs?

● Watch the ‘Snakes’ video (on Seesaw).

● Mrs Kumar was brave and touched a snake

held by the zookeeper at the zoo excursion

during the reptile talk session. Can you

remember when you have touched or seen a

● Make a ‘Paper chain snake’. Using the

instruction (attached) make your very own

paper chain snake using different colours.

Snakes are reptiles that come in different colours andpatterns.

Some people like snakes and some fear them.

A Python is the largest snake in the world. TheBrahminy blind snakes are smaller than a pencil whilean Anaconda is as long as a school bus.

Snakes have long, thin, and flexible bodies covered inscales. Snakes have no arms and legs. They arecarnivores and eat rodents, rabbits and birds.

Snakes can camouflage in their environment.

Number Problems:

Mrs Kumar ran 50 metres in the athletics carnival with Boomerang class. She stopped to helpLevi get his water bottle. After helping Levi, Mrs Kumar ran a further 200 metres to the finish line.How many metres did Mrs Kumar run altogether?

50m + 200m = 250 metres

1. Massimo feeds his pet elephant 210 pieces of fruit. Mrs Stratford feeds her pet elephant 199pieces of fruit. How many pieces of fruits do Massimo’s and Mrs Stratford’s elephants eataltogether?

2. One day on a visit to the zoo, 4 students saw different animals throughout the day. Kaden saw56 Kangaroos, Hassan saw 74 Koalas, Yeshua saw 96 different types of snakes and Ted saw34 possums. How many animals did the 4 students see altogether?

3. Mrs Lattuga and Mrs Makko travelled around Australia last year. They visited Melbourne 20times, Adelaide 33 times, Brisbane 32 times and Perth 40 times throughout the year. Howmany times did they travel altogether in the year?

Paper Chain Snake

What you'll need:

Construction paper

Scissors

Tape

Googly eyes

Cut your construction paper into strips and then in half lengthwise.

Roll a strip for the head and tape it into a circle. Thread the next strip through the first, roll and tape tosecure. Continue until your snake is as long as you would like it.

Use another piece of construction paper cut into a triangle for a tongue. Tape the tongue to the undersideof the snake head. Add two googly eyes above the tongue to complete the snake. You can also just use amarker to add dots for the eyes

You have holidays now for 2 weeks. This is a time to

rest and enjoy doing the things you love with your

family.
