40 AUTUMN
4see Celebration of Learning
On 20th June, parents and special guests were invited to see the
beautiful work Year 7s had created over semester one. During
each lesson, students identified their character strengths and
developed ways to showcase them as a unique design.
During the celebration students displayed their communication
skills by explaining their work to invited guests. Their
effective collaboration has led to
creative designs that required high
levels of critical thinking. As a
result, they are now able to answer
the driving question. “How can I
represent me, in our garden to be?”
Oz Tag Congratulations to the AHS
squad who remained undefeated...until the
finals...but great work Years 9/10 Boys. All
our teams made it through to the next level
of competition. Thanks to the parents who
came to support the teams and their kids.

The colour run, is colourful fun
As expected, the highlight of the day was the colour run- enjoyed equally by staff and students. This year saw all colour run participants having to wear specialised goggles and masks, which added to the fun and novelty of the event.

Year 11 student Talijah Cunningham has been participating in boxing for the past two and a half years, and on Saturday 8 June won the NSW Intermediate Middle Weight Title. The match consisted of 4 rounds each going for 2 minutes, with only 30 second breaks where she would receive advice from her coach, and compose herself for the next round. Talijah versed another young boxer called Laysha who she had fought on
two previous occasions. When asked about the fight Talijah stated she was
nervous as “she had
only won previous
fights by two points”

and knew it was going to be a physical and mental
battle inside the ring.
Talijah was dominant throughout the 4 rounds,
and the judges unanimously scored her as the
winner, making her family, gym and most
importantly herself proud of her hard work and
dedication.
