Utilising our proprietary coulometricsensor technology to detect oxygentransmission rates samples are clampedor attached to a diffusion chamber. Pureoxygen (99.9%) is then introduced intothe upper half of the chamber while anoxygen-free carrier gas flows through thelower half.

Molecules of oxygen diffusing through thesample into the lower chamber areconveyed to the sensor by the carrier gas.

Principle of Operation

This allows a direct measurement of theoxygen without using complexextrapolations. Oxygen transmission rateof the test sample is displayed as eithercc/m2/day or cc/100in2/day.
