Surveillance of Space (SofS)Project
Provide Canada with assured access to orbital data on space objects of Canadian national interest via the acquisition and deployment of a space-based sensor system (Sapphire System)
In February 2013, successfully launched Sapphire, Canada’s first dedicated operational military satellite

JSSP improves the situational awareness of the Joint Task Force Commander through delivery of highly responsive space effects directly in theatre
URSA provides a deployable capability to deliver near real-time, unclassified, wide-area, space-based surveillance
SSA generates classified reports, in near real-time, detailing what the space-based sensor threat is for the selected area and period

Success of delivery is dependent on the readiness and availability of users as budgeted delivery time is limited at each unit
