Event informationBeing outdoors- the cool lake breeze, smell of pine trees and wildflowers, and the awesomeness of a sky filled with sparkling stars! Take your camping experience to another level with our Troop Overnights and Events. Your girls will grow as leaders and a team as they gain new skills, discover more about themselves and make and strengthen friendships. Events are facilitated by experienced staff and volunteers and ensure the highest safety standards, meeting the needs of all girls. Age level for the event is the grade girls are entering in the fall to help them get a jump start on their next year of Girl Scouting.

Most events include a campfire, s’mores, and an optional night hike. Troops or individual girls and their adult chaperone will be assigned to troop houses, platform tents, or camping tents, and may be placed with another group. Requests for sleeping accommodations are not guaranteed. Meals are the responsibility of those registering.

When does registration open for overnight events?Registration will automatically open on Monday, February 2, at 11:00 p.m.

All events (unless otherwise noted) close one week before the event date if not filled earlier. If the event is full, you will be notified within three business days from time of receipt of paper registration.

What is the cancelation and refund procedure? If a troop/girl cannot attend an event for which they have paid, notify the council by the registration deadline (two weeks before an event) to transfer the fee to another event (one transfer only).

Full refunds will be issued if your troop/girl cannot be placed in the session of their/her choice or if the event is canceled by the council.

When will I receive a confirmation?A detailed confirmation will be emailed two weeks prior to the event. It will contain event details including appropriate dress, items to bring, and directions. If attending as a troop, the person who registered the troop is responsible for ensuring that everyone has received the confirmation and sharing additional details specific to the troop’s coordination of attending the event.

How many adults can we bring to overnights?Bed space is limited. We ask that troops only register the required number of adults to meet Safety-Wise ratios. If more adults want to attend, please contact the council two weeks before the event to see if space is available. Individually registered girls are required to be accompanied by an adult.

How does a girl use Program Activity Credits (PACs)?PACs earned through the Fall Nut Sale or Girl Scout Cookie Program Activity can reduce the cost for the girl who earned the PAC to attend an event. Submit PACs by mail or by dropping off at a resource center after registering online or submit with the Event Registration form.

Will girls earn a recognition? All events are connected to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and many events help girls earn a Girl Scout recognition—a badge, patch, or Journey award. When you see Earned Award, girls will complete all five steps to that badge or Related Award, girls will complete some steps to that badge. Visit gswise.org to see the specific steps girls will complete.

How to registerOnline registrations are processed immediately, whereas paper registrations could take a few days. If requesting financial assistance, you must use a paper registration.

Troop Camping OpportunitiesSummer is a great time to go troop camping at Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast properties.

Site RentalCamp Pottawatomie Hills located in East Troy, Chinook Program Center located in Waukesha, Trefoil Oaks Program Center located in Kenosha, and Woodhaven Program Center in Kenosha all offer troop camping opportunities throughout the summer, when day camp is not in session. Indoor troop camping facilities are available at all four locations; tent cabins are available at Chinook Program Center; and cabins and platform tents are offered at Camp Pottawatomie Hills.

You can plan your troop camping experience around your troop’s attendance at an event at one of the program properties with a little advanced planning. All four sites offer a variety of events for different age levels.

Selecting the perfect site just got easier with our new online Facility Selector! With a few keystrokes you will see a list of facilities that suit your needs. Visit gswise.org and go to camp, then site rental. You can also see pictures of program properties, check site rental availability, and request a reservation.

Swim, Camp, PaddleCamping at Camp Pottawatomie Hills on the following weekends or just wanting some water fun for your girls? We will provide one hour of swimming and one hour of paddle boating (Girl Scout Daisies and Brownies) or canoeing (Girl Scout Juniors through Ambassadors) for your troop.
