` eSt. Peter Roman Catholic Church Mission Statement
Our mission is to proclaim the Kingdom of God by living the
Gospel of Jesus Christ through Word, Sacrament, and
Service as taught by the Roman Catholic Church. St. Peter
Parish is a community of dedicated Catholics centered on the
Eucharist, which is the source and the summit of all that we
do and hope to become.
PARISH SACRAMENTS
SACRAMENT OF THE MOST HOLY EUCHARIST
As a parish, the Holy Sacrifice of the
Mass is central to who we are and what we do.
Normal Mass Times are listed on the front of the bulletin. Please contact the office for special Mass
times during Lent and Holy Days of Obligation. To
receive your First Holy Communion, contact the Parish Office, 896-9408.
SACRAMENT OF CONFESSION Essential to the Christian Life, the
Sacrament of Confession is where we come into
contact with Christ who wishes to heal and bless us.
Regular Confession is an integral part of practicing
our Faith and experiencing the peace and joy of a personal relationship with Jesus. 30 minutes before
every Mass, the Sacrament of Confession is offered.
If you need to receive the Sacrament of Confession for the first time, contact the Parish Office, 896-
9408.
SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM Through the waters of Baptism, the new
Christian enters the Church and is given Eternal Life. If you would like to have your infant baptized,
please contact the Parish Office at least 2-4 months
prior to the baby’s due date so that there is enough time to complete preparation for the Sacrament.
Parents should be registered,
participating members of the Parish Family. Candidates for Sponsors (Godparents) should be
attending Mass regularly. Both parents and sponsors
will attend a Baptismal Seminar before they receive the Baptismal Packet which must be received before
an approved date is scheduled.
If you are a parent or an adult seeking the Sacrament of Baptism, please contact the Parish
Office, 896-9408.
SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE In the beginning, God created mankind
as one, male and female. Christ elevated this union to the level of a Sacrament, an image of His own love
for His Bride, The Church. Our Parish Family is
made up of many beautiful marriages who enrich the Church and the world. Couples discerning the
vocation of Holy Matrimony should contact the
Parish Office to begin the journey of preparing for their new life together no later than 6-9 months prior
to the desired wedding date.
SACRAMENT OF ANOINTING OF THE SICK AND FUNERAL/BURIAL
ARRANGEMENTS The Church and her Sacraments accompany us at every moment of our life. When
we are very sick or nearing the end of this life, we
receive the healing of Christ through Anointing of the Sick. Please contact the Parish Office, 896-9408,
to make an appointment.
Also, contact the office before you contact anyone else in making funeral arrangements.
We will lovingly guide you through that most
difficult time.
NEW PARISHIONERS WELCOME Please fill out a census card (located near the doors
of the church), call the Parish Office or register
online at the church website: www.sprcc.org.

FATHER LEDOUX’S PRAYER INTENTIONS FOR DECEMBER WORSHIP: As we start a New Liturgical year, may we spend time in prayer each day and be intentional about God and His will for our lives. FAITH FORMATION: May we take advantage of the rich Liturgical Season of Advent by praying and reflecting on the Sacred Scriptures at
daily Mass that lead us into anticipation of Jesus’ coming. EVANGELIZATION: So others can experience Jesus in us, let us cleanse our hearts from sin in Confession that Christ may find no obstacle
to dwelling within us. SOCIAL JUSTICE: As we reflect on our blessings this Advent, may they be cause for praise and gratitude to God and lead us to act upon
the needs of the poor, refugee, abandoned, imprisoned and disregarded. 'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.' BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES: In thanksgiving for the sacrificial offerings of prayer and monetary gifts to our Parish Capital Campaign. May
everyone's continued sacrificial gifts help us FINISH STRONG toward the remaining financial needs of our church parish.

BLESSING FOR THE CHRISTMAS CRIB
A Blessing Prayer for When Baby Jesus Is Placed in the Manger…
O God of every nation: From the very beginning of creation You have made manifest Your love: When our need for a Savior was great, You sent Your Son to be born of the Virgin Mary. To our lives He brings joy and peace, justice, mercy and love. Lord, bless all who look
upon this manger; may it remind us of the humble birth of Jesus, and raise up our thought to Him, who is our Emmanuel and Savior of all, Who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.
~Celebrating Advent and Christmas- A Sourcebook for Families; Women for Faith & Family
CHRIST CANDLE OF HOPE PRAYER Prayer for the Twelve Days of Christmas
God, our loving Father, You sent Your Son,Jesus Christ, into this world to counter all the forces of evil: sin, suffering and death, and to overcome evil with the force of good; hatred with the power of love, Your great love for us in Jesus.
Help us never to curse the darkness, but to join with You in bringing Your light into this world, the light that is Your Son, born of the Virgin Mary, in Bethlehem. Help us to be instruments of Your light and love by doing one special act of kindness or by being Your special instrument of reconciliation this New Year.
May the Christ Candle we light symbolize our desire to bring light into a world of darkness and hope into a world of despair. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS
From 1558 to 1829, English Catholics were not permitted to practice their faith openly. During this time, The Twelve Days of Christmas was written in England as a catechism song for young Catholics. There was a surface meaning and a hidden meaning known only to Catholics, in which each element was a symbol for a religious reality, helping the children to remember:
A partridge in a pear tree: Jesus
Two turtle doves: Old and New Testaments
Three French hens: Faith, Hope, and Charity
Four calling birds: Four Gospels
Five golden rings: First Five books of the Old Testament
Six geese a laying: Six days of Creation
Seven swans a swimming: Seven gifts of the Holy Spirit
Eight maids a milking: Eight Beatitudes
Nine ladies dancing: Nine fruits of the Holy Spirit
Ten lords a leaping: Ten Commandments
Eleven pipers piping: Eleven faithful Disciples
Twelve drummers drumming: Twelve points in the
Apostles' Creed -Joseph Walker, S.J.
CHRISTMAS CRIB – THANK YOU!!
St. Peter Pro-Life Coordinators, Matthew & Amber Gauthier
wish to express their sincere appreciation to everyone who
gave so generously to help the women and children of our area
through their Christmas Crib donations.
“JESUS, I TRUST IN YOU”
An experience of St. Faustina at Midnight Mass, December 25, 1937: "When I arrived at Midnight Mass, from the very beginning I steeped myself in deep recollection, during which time I saw the stable of Bethlehem filled with great radiance. The Blessed Virgin, all lost in the deepest of love, was wrapping Jesus in swaddling clothes, but Saint Joseph was still asleep. Only after the Mother of God put Jesus in the manger, did the
light of God awaken Joseph, who was also praying. But after a while, I was left alone with the Infant Jesus who stretched out His little hands to me, and I understood that I was to take Him in my arms. Jesus pressed His head against my heart and gave me to know, by His profound gaze, how good He found it to be next to my heart. At that moment Jesus disappeared and the bell was ringing for Holy Communion." (Diary 1442)
PRAY FOR A PRIEST EACH DAY! For the week of December 26th – January 1st:

Paul Bergeron January 1 Pope Francis O Jesus, Eternal Priest, keep Thy servants within the shelter of Thy Sacred Heart, where none may harm them. Keep unstained their anointed hands, which daily touch Thy Sacred Body. Keep unsullied their lips, purpled with Thy Precious Blood. Keep pure and unearthly their hearts, sealed with the sublime mark of Thy glorious Priesthood. Let Thy holy love surround them and shield them from the world’s contagion. Bless their labors with abundant fruit, and may the souls to whom they minster be here below their joy and consolation, and in Heaven their beautiful and everlasting crown. Amen.

PRO-LIFE REFLECTIONS
Behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. …. A savior has been born for you. ~Lk 2:10-11
REFLECTION: The good news of Christmas is for everyone, and especially for the unborn, the most helpless of all. Christ’s birth was announced first to the lowly, not to the powerful. Jesus’ ministry continued to follow that pattern: He consistently sought out those who were on the outskirts of society. We are called to do the same.
PRAYER: Lord, to welcome You means to welcome the obligations that Your mission places on us. This Christmas, I resolve to intervene for the unborn child.
“Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration with exposition needs a great push. People ask me: ‘What will convert America and save the world?’ My answer is prayer. What we need is for every parish to come before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament in holy hours of
prayer.” ~St. Teresa of Calcutta

FEAST OF THE HOLY FAMILY
OF JESUS, MARY & JOSEPH
Friday, December 30th
Scripture tells us practically nothing about the first years and the boyhood of the Child Jesus.
All we know are the facts of the sojourn in Egypt, the return to Nazareth, and the incidents that occurred when the twelve-year-old boy accompanied his parents to Jerusalem. In her liturgy the Church hurries over this period of Christ's life with equal brevity. The general breakdown of the family, however, at the end of the past century and at the beginning of our own, prompted the popes, especially the far-sighted Leo XIII, to promote the observance of this feast with the hope that it might instill into Christian families something of the faithful love and the devoted attachment that characterize the family of Nazareth. The primary purpose of the Church in instituting and promoting this feast is to present the Holy Family as the model and exemplar of all Christian families.

We give to the support of the Church, NOT because the Church needs, but because WE NEED to give back to God a thankful share of what He has first given to us!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUS DONATIONS AND STEWARDSHIP! BECAUSE OF YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT,
WE HAVE A WONDERFUL PLACE OF WORSHIP.
A STEWARDSHIP MOMENT SOLEMNITY OF THE NATIVITY OF THE LORD
Amidst the beautiful readings at the Christmas Masses is a reading from a small New Testament letter from Saint Paul to his protégé, Titus, read at midnight Mass. Saint Paul reminds Titus that God has given us a gift in the person of Jesus Christ. This gift represents God’s active presence in our lives and in our world. This gift redeems us from evil and death. This gift purifies us as God’s people. This is a gift that also comes with an expectation: that we receive it with thanksgiving, allow it to transform us into Christ’s image; and from it, learn how to live a life “eager to do what is good.” Take time the next few days to reflect on the marvelous gift we celebrate at Christmas, and how we might become better stewards of this gift.
ROSARY FOR PEACE The Rosary for peace for our country and our soldiers will be prayed every Thursday before 6:30am Mass.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS Almighty and eternal God, those who take refuge in You will be glad and forever will shout for joy. Protect these soldiers as they discharge their duties. Protect them with the shield of Your strength and keep them safe from all evil and harm. May the power of Your love enable them to return home in safety, that with all who love them, they may ever praise You for Your loving care. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
